My family and I just returned home from a five day Orlando Florida Disney World vacation trip. We had a total blast and time just flew by like it was nothing. The weather was absolutely perfect during our visit. You couldn’t have asked for better weather. Florida is absolutely beautiful. I forgot how nice it was despite living right in Orlando for four years.
During our vacation, I captured over 4 gigs of videos and pictures. I’ll share a few pics and a video in this post. It will take me over a week to process the remaining, but when I have everything uploaded to Flickr and YouTube, I’ll be sure to drop some links.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Starring: Aerosmith
The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is absolutely one of my favorite roller coasters. It’s freaking intense and will have your heart racing and pumping out adrenaline and have you just racing to get back in line for a second go.
Once strapped in, immediately the vehicle train thrusts forward reaching close to 60 MPH is just over 2 seconds. The G-Force on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is totally insane. Once you hit the first inversion, your body will endure around 4.5 G’s. This is not a ride for the faint of heart.
I am a huge roller coaster junkie and have been my whole life. Unfortunately, the cards of life have dealt me the hand of having a very bad back. To much disappointment, I am not able to ride as many rides as I once used to earlier in life.
Having that said, I must say that the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was an extremely smooth ride. It wasn’t bumpy, the seats conformed very well to my spine and I was very snug and secure seated inside the vehicle train. A lot of coasters will jerk and jolt your body around making it very risky to ride for people with back problems.
Lights, Motors, Action
Lights, Motors, Action was one of the many shows my family and I watched. Lights, Motors, Action is a 35 minute running show that includes a mixture of human performed stunts, pyrotechnics and wicked cool stunts performed with specially designed cars, motorcycles and jet skis.
The show is very new and made its debut on May 5th, 2005 in honor of the very first Disney park having hit its 50th year in operation. One key thing that I noticed right away was behind the arena, you’ll find a Grumman G-159 turboprop aircraft (tail number, N234MM). This airplane was used by Walt Disney in 1965 to fly from New York to California. I’ll probably cover an entire story about that on The Airplane Blog.
Over 4 Gigs of Videos and Pictures
I’ll open up a YouTube and Flickr channel and share over 4 gigs of videos and pictures in the upcoming weeks. All in all, this has been an amazing vacation. It amazes me how fast time passes by when you’re on vacation and having fun.
Upcoming Articles on GCDC
I don’t have too much planned at the moment on GCDC. I have a review of Blogged.com in the works. I have been speaking with one of the staff members of Blogged.com and have quite a bit of cool stuff to share with you.
Another upcoming story will include a rant style post about something that has been bothering more for awhile regarding giving credit to bloggers where credit is due. Blogging is a difficult job. Anyone that speaks differently, doesn’t have a blog and would have no clue. I don’t like content theft and I don’t like it when bloggers don’t give credit to other bloggers when they blockquote content.
Welcome Me Back…
Anyway, I am back from vacation. I am in a great mood, I am tons to write about and tons of opinions and thoughts to share with you. Traditionally, that is something I lacked doing on GCDC and you’re going to get more of in the near future. Drop me a comment and speak your mind.

Like I told you, it looks like things have changed a little since I went to Disney Land in California back in 1983, ROFL.
Most important though, I bet the KIDS enjoyed it, no not you, the other kids, lol…..

The car show was awesome. It almost looked like they were on tracks of some sort but I am sure it was just lot’s of training and hard work.
I still have not been to Disneyland. The last place I went to was Alton Towers in the UK. I went on a roller coaster that flies you around with your legs dangling then cranks you up a big ramp. Then the whole seats turn and face you so you are looking directly at the floor. You tether on the edge and then get dropped vertically and it feels like you face is going to hit the ground. I wish I could remember it’s name!
I agree, blogging is hard work and people don’t understand it is a job!

I’ve always wanted to visit Florida, especially for the Disney rides and also Universal Studios - despite the Back to the Future ride ahving been closed down - my favourite films ever too!
Good to have you back though, I’ve missed having some Garry Conn content to read!
