A Good Google Adsense Day

Wow… this is getting great! I have been busting my butt really hard this last week. For all those that read here often, I am sure you guys were all wondering where I disappeared to for almost a week without a single post. First off, sorry about that… secondly, did you read my $1.00 Dollar a Day running 100 Blogs post? The post explains how if you can make an easy living just by making $1.00 per day on a blog. Granted, you have to manage quite a few of them… but who cares. If can tell your friends that you are a full time blogger and manage over 100 blogs, then so be it. I am going to do back flips down to my mailbox this month! Do I care what my neighbors think? :)

In my last post, I explained that if you set a goal to make $1.00 per day per blog, this equals $365 dollars per day. Times that by 100 and you are making an average salary of $36,500 per year. In this post, I have scaled things down quite a bit. For one, I suggested using Blogger.com and two I didn’t really put forth much detail on the topics you should choose to blog about.  In my situation, I have rolled out close 40 independent self hosted domain name sites. All of which run Wordpress. I have bought and paid for over 100 domain names, and as of this moment I am not even half way done with setting up these domains on my server, configuring Wordpress and designing the sites. I am here to tell you though… if you put your mind up to it, you can make a ton of money using Google Adsense. I am just very happy to start to see my efforts pay off. Realistically, I have been working on this project off and on for close to a year. Just within the last week, I got off my butt and started to really crunch down and get things done.

Yesterday I had a pretty good Adsense day! I hit the 50% mark of my daily goal. Granted, the day before and today doesn’t look like I am going to come close… but that one day, that one SPIKE is really getting me motivated. I have been smelling the money for a long time. Yesterday I got a taste. And now I am more hungry than ever.  Especially knowing that the sites I have launched have technically been up and running for only a week.

I am not letting the cat out of the bag on specifics about my sites. I can tell you this, if you research and figure out what pays well and also what is easy to blog about in relation to what the public is looking for, you can easily score some dough.  Putting some training wheels on and using Blogger.com is a great way towards gaining more experience and ultimately preparing yourself towards running multiple dot com blogs. Assuming that is what you want to do for a living. For me, why not? I am a stay at home dad, have three kids and a mini van. If I can make money online while I haul my kids around to baseball practice, I am not complaining one bit. :)

Congratulations Garry! I know that had to be a WOW moment. I get excited when I make .52 in a day, can’t even imagine making $10 a day, which I WOULD love to do it. Your post has inspired me even more. Thanks…off to create another blog.

Keep up the good work. With hard work, motivation and determination you can do it! :) Most important is following up with the sites you build and maintaining them. As soon as a Googlebot pays the site a visit, go ahead a post another entry, or even two if you can. Depending on how much time you have will reflect the amount of volume you can push out. On my project sites, I am pushing out four posts per site directly after Google visits. I display 3 post per page and every cycle creates a new page deeper into the blog. (page/2 page/3 page/4 etc…)

Congratulations Garry. Good for you!

Thanks Joost, I am a long way from being done though… for me this is nothing to be satisfied with just yet, I could still work at McDonald’s starting tomorrow and make more per year. I have a long way to go, but yesterday gave me hope. :)

Thanks Madhur, I can say the same for you too… I have watched your site grow to be pretty popular over the year also. And yes, you are without a doubt one of my original readers! I should create a sidebar section for that. :)

Good on’ya Garry.
Can you explain why you do this – “I display 3 post per page and every cycle creates a new page deeper into the blog. (page/2 page/3 page/4 etc…)”
What does multiple pages do as opposed to say 10 posts per page.

Gary… that is very very cool. It’s good to see your efforts paying off.

The quicker you turn pages… just like in a book the more pages get indexed. So when your home page is a PR5, you can bank on having your page 2 and page 3 also have a decent page rank as well. The long haul is preparation for high volume publishing without any worries that Google will miss indexing posts due to the fact that you buried them with too much content on top.

It’s a valve trick… keeping the valve open wider for crawlers to get inside deep into the bowels of your blog.

Me too… it’s the end of the month and I have bills to pay! :)

congrats Garry! maybe you can now request the SalaryBase project (http://www.salarybase.com) to include a full-time blogger to their stats :-)

nicely done garry.
I am almost about to throw google off my site, since I only make 6-8$ a day from it and I get 10.000 people a day. This is so ridiculous. You get 5900 impressions and make 53$ out of it, I do 79.000 and get $60, max $70.
Something is wrong here. I seriously need to talk to you after my exams, because I value your feedback and ideas very much, and I am sure that you can help me out with some out of the box creative thinking!

Yours,
jez

Jez, you are luckier than I am. So far I’m lucky to make .07 this past week. :( I think Garry must have a niche blog with a popular keyword, I could be wrong though.

Garry has your Smacks page been indexed yet? Curious as to how long it possibly takes. Got some more ideas? Oh and as for working at McD’s, I’d say only do it for the toys. Your little one would love ya for it. lol

Garry, or any one else that has adsense. What is a usual ratio of Page Impression to Clicks (I guess that means visitors to ad clicks)I know it could vary greatly but what have people found.

That is a very interesting site. Thanks for showing me it. :)

Google Adsense isn’t right for every site. You might find better success in selling products direct using affiliate programs such as Amazon.com. At the end of your posts, you could easily recommend a relevant product to your readers… in fact, you could even write reviews for various product that you enjoy a lot and feel good expressing it to your readers if you feel that they would enjoy it too.

The ads being generated on your site don’t pay very well, however, the products that are being displayed in your Google Adsense does. Instead of having Google manage the products being offered on your site, you should take the lead on it yourself and offer the products direct. :)
