So bloggers are just pure and outright liars. They lie about their traffic, lie about the money that they say they make and lie about a skill they claim to be an expert about.
Then on the flip side, there are bloggers who very well may been too honest. They are so honest that the truth of what they say actually hurts them as for the fact that they give away all their ideas. (Who does that remind you of?)
I believe that there is a balance. For one, you should always be an honest blogger, but when it comes down to revealing your secrets in blogging such as marketing tactics, strategies, and certain tweaks that you have discovered, what should you do? Should you reveal those secrets? Should you keep them to yourself?
Here is a little overview of what I do. I do give away quite a bit of secrets. But I’d like to believe, that I make it so that people have to work for use of the secret. Meaning, I don’t just give it all away wrapped up with a bow tie. Usually there is a part of learning or execution that has to take place prior to utilizing a very powerful secret revealed.
Anyway, are you an honest blogger? Do you think that you’re too honest? I’ll leave you with a funny comic strip I found on CyberCoder’s post titled, Honest Blogging.

And for my visitors reading this, the above commenter is Bobby Revell. I haven’t spoke with him since mid 2007 it seems. He blogs about, you guessed it: Blogging Ethics! A wonderful site that you should bookmark and subscribe to.

I haven’t blogged about it and am struggling with the idea if I should or not. I give away quite a bit. Maybe its the blue collar in me and I like tools. So I figure most other people would like the right tools to do their jobs as well. So I just share it. I personally dont like hype. I like to know that what I am looking at or going to get is going to work. Its funny too because I think that a large part of my personality is the problem solver.”this is broken how do I fix it” again you see the blue collar in me.(i’m a plumber) family and friends are all blue collar hard worker types. So that rubs off in my blogging. I like to dig into to a problem and see what I can do to fix it. Ive been told that I should sel more of my own products but I figure and this maybe misguided that It’s alreadey freely available. Crap If some knuckle head like me figured it out how hard can it be for someone else to do the same. I dunno and another thig is and thinkthi is largely an upbringing thing to is I dont really like to talk about money. Yeah yeah I know what my blog is called I chose that back when I was new to blogging. So cut me some slack will ya.
Good topic though Garry!!
