Ask A Home Inspector!

Free Web Designs

One really neat thing about blogging and people is the fact that majority of us own or rent a home or live in an apartment. With that being said, living in the place that we call home, there tends to be a million and one different questions related to it.

Example:

  • What caused that crack in the ceiling and how do I fix it?
  • Why does my hot water heater leak?
  • What is causing mold to appear in certain places of my house?
  • Why do my floors creek and make sound? Is there foundation issues?

Living our daily lives in our homes can lead to a lot of mystery questions. Who can give you answers to these questions? Who can point you in the right direction and give you guidance on correcting problems with your house? Most importantly, who is willing to take your questions by email and answer them on their blog?

Answer: Johnny Goad, from Clarksville Home Inspection! Johnny Goad is a personal friend of mine who operates a very professional and high quality home inspection business in my home town. He consults with me and I help him with his website, Internet marketing and expanding his brand.

Recently, I talked to Johnny about my AskGarry! section and told him how so many of my readers loved the new section and how useful it is for them. I thought that it would be a great idea if Johnny offered the same service for his web site. This would allow him a great way to interact with his readers and help people solve problems by answering questions related to their homes.

He agreed and today, I would love to extend an invitation to all my Garry Conn dot Com readers to visit The Home Inspection Blog and Ask A Home Inspector your question. Johnny Goad is standing by to accept your questions and answer them live on his website. I hope that you’ll help get the ball rolling and take a moment to accept the invitation and submit your question and also welcome him into the world of blogging! I only associate myself with caring, honest and professional people and it has been a great privilege to have the opportunity to work with Johnny and show him how powerful blogging can be for his personal business.

What Can You Do At The Home Inspection Blog?

home-inspection-blog

A lot! Johnny is putting all his trust into me with helping him build and establish a strong and powerful Internet presence. Recently I joined with Johnny as he performed a home inspection on a house and I have to say it was quite educational. I learned so much about houses and some of the most common things that go wrong with them. Amazingly, I also discovered that in his inspection reports he supplies his customers with high resolution pictures.

Instantly, FlickR came to my mind. I explained to Johnny about how amazing his web site would be if he were to invest the time into uploading his pictures into FlickR and give each one of these pictures an accurate title and description. He agreed and felt like it would be a wonderful free service of his website.

On the Home Inspection Blog you will see a horizontal bar that displays high resolution images of many of the most common problems with homes. You will find examples of mold issues, structural issues, flood damage, etc. The more home inspections that Johnny provides, the more his FlickR database will add up.

john-and-son

I am very pleased that Johnny has such an open mind to such a new age of effective marketing and promoting his business. In addition to Ask A Home Inspector, The Home Inspection Blog and The Home Inspection Photo Blog, we will hopefully be launching his Home Inspection YouTube Channel very soon.

Don’t Forget…

Johnny Goad is standing by to help answer all your questions related to your home. Ask him a question and he will answer your question live on his website! Also, just like most all blogs, you can easily subscribe to his RSS feed with FeedBurner!

This sounds like a great idea Garry!

I’ve often wondered about various questions that I need answers to, usually I’d just Google for the answers, but that doesn’t always work out and you’re left without having really knowing what you should be doing.

Obviously you could call your local professional, but that’s sometimes just overkill for your needs. If Johnny builds up a good selection of Q+As then that will only increase his exposure and traffic on the Internet.

I’ll check it out! Thanks!

Thanks Simon!

The key element that you mentioned is that you tend to Google your answers and at times you don’t get the results you desire. That in itself is one of the main purposes to Ask A Home Inspector so that Johnny can build up his Q & A database so that when people do use Google can find information that provides answers that are spot on.

Another great part to this concept is the FlickR database that Johnny is building up. This gives people a huge resource of information related to common household problems.

Yea, I have a couple of questions about what to look for not just in a home but in a home inspector. I’ll be sure to ask a question some time!

Sounds like a really neat and helpful site Garry, I’ve already posted my first question and I’m sure I’ll be back to post more. (meant to post this last night but ended up falling asleep at the computer) lol. I’m sure you’ll understand that.

By the way, will he answer any lawyer (rental) type of questions? ie, if you recently started renting a home (year lease) and found out your landlord is about to give the property over to someone else can they evict us?

@ Eliza,

I would stick to the home owner related questions. :)

Pretty interesting idea there Garry. As I don’t own a house ( yet ), I can’t ask Johnny any questions but it sounds like a great thing for someone that’s having trouble with his house.

Best Regards,
Cristian Raiber.

Great idea Garry! Being a home owner for less than a year (newbie), I have lots of questions just about everything and anything in my house. Now, I have a friendly person to ask my questions. :-)

Owning a home can be almost as interesting as blogging… :) Tons of questions and “How To’s” I am glad that you like Johnny’s site. :)

What a great idea, Gary. I can see his blog becoming very popular. One could start a whole sting of niche sites, “Ask an auto mechanic,” “Ask a porn star,” and so on :-)

LOL!!

Yes, indeed… I have been on a shopping spree and have already added around 100 new dot Com into my portfolio of domain names. :)

I thought home inspectors inspected houses before they were purchased…

14 accurateinspections { 09.28.09 at 1:16 pm }

Home buyers are usually concerned about the structure, roof, heating systems and a dry basement. Those areas in particular are evaluated meticulously, but we make sure to ascertain other areas that may be of some concern to you. We work for you, not the seller or the Realtor. We help you assess the risk of home ownership and disclose the defects in the home to you which will assist you in making an informed decision.

The process of inspecting a home is a crucial one. Many buyers purchase their home on impulse and find themselves suffering from buyers remorse upon discovering serious flaws in the home itself. At Accurate Inspections, we provide our clients with the tools they need to make an educated choice regarding the quality and condition of their potential new home. By hiring an experienced home inspector who has your best interest solely in mind, our clients are better able to judge the strengths and weaknesses of the home in which they are under contract to buy. We will inspect the structure, exterior, roof, plumbing, electric, heating, ac, interior and fireplace.

Nice Post

Free New home inspection checklists are necessary to assist home buyers.

Buyers of new homes are frequently under the mistaken impression the municipality
has preformed all the necessary and required new home inspecitons.
Simple home inspections checklists allow new home buyers to find defects they might
otherwise miss.

Our home inspection checklists cover the following areas

HEATING AND COOLING HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST
ELECTRICAL HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST
KITCHEN HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST
GENERAL HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST
EXTERIOR HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST
INTERIOR HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST
PLUMBING HOME INSPECTION CHECKLIST

A certified home inspector will give you a report with all these parameters
and much more and once you look at the report, there should be no
doubt as to the price you can offer for the home.
