Wow, I kinda like the idea of this. Sort of a Digg for blogs and bloggers. Makes for an interesting idea and if it gets large enough could certainly serve to drive some traffic to the sites that make it to the top!

This is a very interesting concept. I wonder if it will gain some steam in the blogosphere. Hopefully it does because we need something like this

Interesting article Garry! I am always looking to see how sites like these are doing. I thought about launching one myself with revenue share, users can place affiliate links, and readers and other authors can vote on the articles. Maybe its to late for a new site like this.

Always looking forward to your articles!

I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. I am a member of this site and I think the people behind it are doing everything in their power to make this site work. It is a new site, and there are going to be a few bugs that need to be worked out. However, there are a lot of people out there who are trying very hard to become respected writers, and it's sites like BloggersBase that help unknown writers get noticed.

I also don't think it's fair to automatically shoot this site down without taking the time to thoroughly check it out. It wouldn't be fair for someone to automatically assume something about you without taking the time to get to know you, and it's the same for sites such as this one.

I have had a very positive experience with this site so far, and have already made a few friends. I'm very happy with the competition part of this site, and the way it's set up. I'm happy that I have the opportunity to be part of something so new.

While I do believe that Digg has some moderate issues of corruption, also too I think we should consider our blog topic in relation to what is mainstream on Digg. Most of our content tends to get shot down because, we as bloggers within a few selected niches, try to force feed our content onto the Digg community.

While I do agree, that most all voting systems are susceptible to being gamed, I think BloggersBase.com has a lot of potential simply for the fact that the foundation of their operation depends on Bloggers rather than shuns bloggers like many of the other social networks do.
