Cheap Web Hosting For WordPress

So you are looking for cheap web hosting for WordPress? There are so many different web hosting companies out there who provide cheap web hosting services, but who provides the best hosting service for WordPress? Quickly, I can see how deciding on a web hosting company can be difficult. Especially for WordPress bloggers out there who want to have dependable yet cheap web hosting services. I just signed up with HostGator.com and I am having a most wonderful experience so far with their service.

There are a few reasons why I decided to use HostGator.com. For one, I hear nothing but excellent reviews and very positive reviews about their services in the blogosphere. So far, every blog post I have read that covers a review on their web hosting services has been a positive one.

A second reason why I signed up for HostGator.com is because I really do need cheap web hosting for WordPress. I am in the process of building a niche blog for the purpose of reselling it in SitePoint.

When I am done, I want to be able to list the site for sale and simply hand over the keys. In part of that, I don’t want to worry about having to transfer the account from my dedicated server to another host. I want to be able to simply collect my money and give the new owner all my user names and passwords and complete the transaction. More to come on that later.

When I signed up for HostGator.com, I played “dumb”, meaning I acted as if I didn’t know anything about web hosting, domain names or even WordPress for that matter. I am not saying that people who lack in these skills are dumb, it’s just a figure of speech. With that being said, I set my account up quickly and easily because HostGator.com has an automatic tutorial / set up guide that walks you through the entire process. Amazingly, I had purchased the domain name, purchased the web hosting account and was literally LIVE — up and running — within 15 minutes. That actually amazed me.

The third reason why I signed up for HostGator.com is because a large percentage of my readers ask me which company I personally recommend for providing them with cheap and dependable web hosting services for running WordPress. In the past, I would say that I didn’t know because I use a dedicated server. I realized that really didn’t help people that much. People were turning to me for advice and I was failing to deliver. So signing up for HostGator.com in many ways was for the purpose of evaluating their services to determine if it is s company that I would personally recommend to my readers.

HostGator.com has quite a few different hosting options. However, the three most common options that I believe would be most suited for your needs as well as budget would be the either the Hatchling Web Hosting Plan, the Baby Web Hosting Plan or the Swamp Web Hosting Plan. These three web hosting plans range in price from $4.95 / month to $12.95 / month. The hosting specs are amazing. The Hatchling plan starts you out with 350 Gigs of disk space, 3000 Gigs of bandwidth, 24×7 technical support, 45 day money back guarantee and many additional options, one of which is cPanel and Fantastico.

For those who don’t know, Fantastico is the program that allows you to install WordPress automatically with just a simple push of a button. In addition to WordPress, Fantastico also includes many other free open source programs such as message boards software, wiki software, classified ads software, online auction software and so much more. All these programs can be installed instantly on your web hosting acount with the simple click of a mouse. Once again, all these services are included in the basic $4.95 / month plan.

Do you feel like you are stuck with your current web hosting provider? Are you unhappy with your current web host but don’t know how in the world you can transfer all your stuff over to HostGator.com? No problem, HostGator.com provides a free site to site transfer service. They recognize that many of us aren’t experts here and understand the frustrations people can experience with being subjected to terrible customer service as well as not knowing what to do or how to transfer things from one account to another.

If you would like to learn more about HostGator.com and or sign up for their cheap web hosting services that I feel are perfect for WordPress, feel free to visit their web site. HostGator.com is advertised on many places on my blog. You can simply click on one of the banner advertisements or any of the above links in this post. I wish I had found HostGator a long time ago. I went through so much trouble trying to find a good hosting provider. I felt like I was stuck in a bad relationship with my previous hosting company. Always looking for an excuse to stay and always putting up with their reasons for not delivering what they promised. HostGator is great. No excuses and no problems! Just great service and quality prices. Can’t be beat. Great advice Garry.

I was literally absolutely amazed with their service last night. I have heard about HostGator.com for a super long time, but you know how that goes… you can’t go researching everything thing you hear. But last night, something finally told me to go check them out and I am glad I did. Thanks for the support and the comment Paul.

Hi Gord!

Installing WordPress using HostGator.com couldn’t be any easier. You can do it in just five simple steps:

Step One… log into your control panel:

Step Two: Click on the Fantastico Button found at the lower left hand side at the bottom of your control panel:

Step Three: Click on WordPress… this will open up the installation wizard.

Step Four: Click on New Installation.

Step Five: Answer these simple questions and your done! WordPress is installed.

Pretty simple huh? From there you can find your favorite WordPress theme and either install it using traditional FTP or use the web based wizard provided to you within your control panel.

As long as you never try and cancel your service with them they are fine. I’ve canceled 3x and I am still getting billed each month. I have to call them for a 4th time and explain the situation over again.

Yup, Fantastico will make your life easier, I have installed wordpress manually before and it isn’t that hard, but it’s a few steps and there’s definitely potential for error, with fantastico you click a couple of times and your blog is installed. I am also hearing good things about HostGator. Thanks for the tips Gary.

Garry, very cool article and should help out a lot of your readers. Also, another thing about Fantastico is that it enables 1-click WordPress upgrade. There is no doubt some of us fear the words ‘WordPress Upgrade’. Fantastico is pretty quick in having the latest version available for upgrade too. Stumbled!

Garry,

Interesting advice. I have wondered about HostGator for a while, because someone I know from online networking that leaves VERY nearby works for them. I may have to give them a shot for my next blog.

I’m using Bluehost right now but I’m not satisfied with their service. I’m thinking of having an adult blog but my hosting site doesn’t support such. Does Hostagator support adult sites?
