What Is The Best Sound Card For Your Computer?
Many years ago I used to build my own computers. Since then the cost has become much more effective to simply buy one from the store. However, one thing that I have always been very particular about is the sound capabilities of a computer.
In my opinion, I think that many retail computers tend to cheap out a little on the sound option. With that said, I wanted to collect your feedback. What, in your opinion, is the best sound card for your computer? Leave a comment below and share your thoughts. Some of the things that should be considered is brand, price and quality.

Garry,
It really depends on what sort of application you are planning to run.
For gaming/general use, I recommend anything from HT Omega. I use the Striker model which is on the lower end, but it does everything I ask. Many people are raving about the Claro Plus* (http://tinyurl.com/28lxhs*), so that looks like another good option. I moved away from Creative after many people seemed to be having problems with drivers, especially for Vista 64 which I use.
If you are looking for a soundcard built for recording, try finding something from M-Audio. They are specifically designed to address recording latency issues and will provide a better result in that application.
Let me know what you end up with
-Mike
