Dirt Cheap Blog Advertising
As many of my readers have soon discovered, I fear not change. I change things on a moments notice. Without change you can’t scope out ways to improve. If after making a change and the effects go in the wrong direction, you can always change back. For the last week, I have been working silently behind the scenes on redesigning one of my other main sites, Blog The Internet.
This site gets quite a bit of daily traffic, around 2500 to 3000 unique visits which generate around 6000 daily page views, which equates to around 75,000 to 90,000 unique visits per month which generate around 180,000 page views. During holidays, such as last Christmas, it hits huge spikes in traffic. During Christmas just two months ago, Blog The Internet generated over 50,000 unique visits on Dec. 26th alone. During Black Friday and CyberMonday combined, 250,000 unique visits.
As the site gets rocking during holidays and also has a constant steady stream of traffic coming in… I really want more than that. The traffic I get to the site are what I call, “One Hit Wonders”. While this was formally planned, I really want more from the site than just being a connector site and today I unveiled a brand new Blog The Internet.

I am going to be blogging there more often now and over due time, I am slowly going to migrate my efforts over to that site and very very slowly phase out Garry Conn dot Com. Don’t worry folks, it will happen so slowly and so naturally, one day you’ll even ask yourself, “When did I stop reading Garry’s stuff on Garry Conn dot Com and start reading his stuff on Blog The Internet?”
Eventually, Blog The Internet will become my flagship site. I really enjoy everything that I have built here on Garry Conn dot Com, but some where deep inside, it kind of bothers me that I chose to use my personal name as the main blog and not something else. I have had Blog The Internet since Sept. of 2005 and its a very popular blog. It does extremely well in the search engines and has a ton of traffic coming in. Currently, it also has a PageRank of PR4.
My focus will be to start providing more rich content on that blog, just as you would find here on GCDC. Also, another huge focus I have is converting all these “One Hit Wonder” search engine traffic into “Regular Reader” traffic. If I do that, then almost instantly this site will have a huge explosive growth rate.
The reason why I have invested so much energy and time into Blog The Internet is the fact that it is established and gets a lot of traffic. The only problem I have with the site is that it doesn’t retain readership. Up until now, that hasn’t been a problem. But I realize that I can make a lot more money from a site that has regular readers versus a site that has a ton of one hit wonders.
The huge advantage I have now with the site is the fact that I have a constant flow of incoming traffic. My only challenge with Blog The Internet is converting visitors into life long readers.
Three nights ago, I wrote a post that explained how I feel that there is a huge demand to accommodate ad space for advertisers and that many of the leading blogs have back orders to fulfill. The new Blog The Internet will really be one of my first project sites that attempts to capitalize on this private ad sales market. Because Blog The Internet is new to the private sales market, I have priced out my ad space at an extremely affordable price. So, if you’re looking for dirt cheap blog advertising and want to get the MOST out of your advertising dollar… you might not want to pass up this huge opportunity to advertise your blog, business, product, service or website on Blog The Internet. It has tons of traffic and it will quickly start to retain a huge amount of readers. Here is a summary of the ad spots I have available: (you can also read the full advertisement page)

The Top Page Ad banner is a 468×60 size graphic that appears on the top of every page directly above the content on each page. This is one of the first things people see when they visit a page. There are only two rotation spots available for this section. The price for this ad unit is $50 per month. – Learn more.

The In Post Page Ad banner is a 300×250 size graphic that appears embedded in the content on each page. The position on this spot is very optimal as readers will be able to easily view your advertisement while reading the page content. The ad is positioned on the top right side and the content of the page wraps around it on the left. There are only ten rotation spots available for this section. The price for this ad unit is $35 per month. – Learn more.

The Top Left Page Ad banner is a 120×600 size graphic that appears on the top of every page directly to the left of the the content on each page. People read from left to right. The Sidebar Site Sponsor Ad is going to be my top seller. It is a 125×125 size graphic, has a very attractive price and delivers the most bang for your advertising dollar. I went over and checked out the site and I must say that I really like the design. Very nice.
I really think this is going to work out for you in the long run. And no matter where you end up doing most of your posting, I’ll be there to check it out.
Keep up the good work, my friend.
This price is a steal for anyone wanting some cheap, but effective advertising

Good work Garry! I think it looks great!
I understand wanting to move off your personal domain name, as I did the same thing recently. Maybe you could use this property to help people keep track of you and your sites
P.S. Sorry I’ve been away from my computer when you’ve been sending IM’s. You are usually not online when I get back. My wife’s work schedule changed and I’ve had less time at the computer in evenings because I have to take care of the kids needs now.
Good luck and great job Garry. You know you can always make GCDC become more like a place to link to all of your stuff so you can advertise yourself. Just a thought but with over 100 blogs this would be the best blog for someone to look you up by name and search what blogs you have. Maybe like in a category type setting. Great looking blog over there, I know you were really working hard on it the other day. Congrats!
Gary,
I checked Blog the Internet, and let me tell, your design skill are impressive.
I love the theme you have created for that blog!
Good job man!
I wonder why you do not start selling themes!!!
It could be another income for you!
Francesco
Thanks a lot for the support. I have got quite a few awesome posts I am sharing on there already.
Hey, I like the look of your blog. Are the advertisement spaces still available? I am keen!
I like the new look as well. It definitely looks like more of a traditional blog. You have a good eye for how to lay things out. Good job!
Thanks man! In many ways I am just following suit with the standard. The site utilizes the 125×125 button graphics on the top fold on a right sidebar. It has a sellable 468×60 top center, a sellable 120×600 float left ad spot and a sellable 300×250 content embed float right.
A few days ago I wrote a post about how I am going to make an effort with gaining more private ad sales and the new BTI is a result of that. It’s kind of a bold move as BTI is one of my most profitable sites. So far, things have been working out great.
Naturally, my Adsense income has dropped; however, PepperJam
is really holding strong and has helped a lot. In fact, I have made more by promoting PepperJam ads in place of Google Adsense ads. My top seller is the Dual Action Cleanse Products
.. LOL!!! I never realized how many people wanted to get their colons cleaned out!
@ Francesco,
You really think my themes are good enough to be sold? That would be great… I just never considered that.
@ Davion,
I will contact you by email. Yes.. I have a few spots available for you.
The new design of Blog The Internet looks great Garry, I look forward to reading all your new content there, have subscribed so as not to miss anything!
This is great stuff. I haven’t updated my website in about 4 years and just did a revamp about a week ago. It’s a totally different world now and it’s amazing. I’m learning so much every day thanks to people like yourself! Anyhow, whenever you get the chance, please take a gander: http://www.outrageousthoughts.com
