Do You Think It Was A Mistake For Google To Purchase YouTube?

I don’t understand how a site like YouTube.com can’t make money. But then also, I can think of a million reasons why it doesn’t. Either way it doesn’t really matter as Google has recently announced that they are not making money with YouTube.com.

So what do you think? Was it an error in judgment for Google to purchase YouTube.com They spent 1.65 billion dollars on the site had have failed to make that money back and from what I hear, they have absolutely no plan of action towards correcting this.

Was it a mistake for Google to purchase YouTube.com and secondly, what do you think they can do to make money from the site?

I read recently that Youtube makes more then 70 millions per year. I don’t think that Youtube was a mistake. Google knows what to do with them. Let’s wait and see…

Yeah, I think it was a great decision by google to buy out youtube.
They might have paid over the top for it but in the long run it will be well worth it.
If I ask my 9 year old kid anything about a movie/tv series/band and so on, he is straight onto youtube looking for videos about the subject.
As they now have the 9 year olds, imagine how big it will be in 10 years time & the money they can make…

I don’t think there was a mistake. Google tends to purchase any type of website out there and just knowing that YouTube is owned by Google is all that Google seems to want.

That’s just my opinion.

Unfortunately, you have the wrong info. Youtube is one of Google’s goldmine. A big one.

youtube isn’t going anywhere….I don’t know their strategy, but, the big G isn’t hurting because of the purchase…I’m sure they will do something awesome with it.
