I have to check… not sure where you are at in the order… I am on Lyte Bytes right now… so just check the list to see who is next and there after. I enjoyed reading and commenting on your post.
You and Kyle should hook up and exchange links or at a minimum reference to yours and his article. Perhaps just commenting on each would suffice.
You can find Kyle’s here:

Kyle and I are somewhat similar, I am creative with writing and ideas and he is very creative with digging for programs, plugins and various things that aid in the individual blogger’s experience. Also, he reports excellent technology news and has a huge reference guide and directory.

My experience during your site was all mystery. My thoughts are that it is about drug addiction. There are many articles related to drug addiction. The URL of the site leads me to believe that your husband is a drug addict or a recovering one???
My advise to you would be to create an about me page. Look at mine for a reference. And basically you should put yourself in your “First Time” reader’s shoes… During my visit, I had trouble trying to put my finger on what your site is about.
I am not cracking down on you… I am telling you how I feel. I am not sure what most other bloggers do, but when I visit a blog for the first time, I quickly look for an about me page. I want to know what the site is about, I want to know what to expect to see. I don’t want to sit there for an hour trying to find out what a site is about in order to determine if I am going to like it or not.
With Garry Conn dot Com… I don’t expect to attract every one’s interest here. But, I do expect that I do a great job in communicating what my site is about. In less than 30 seconds, a first time reader should have a good assessment as far as what my site is about.
I don’t want to waste people’s time. Either you like my site or you don’t. And you will know for sure in about 30 seconds.
On your site, I have to invest too much time into figuring out what the site is about… most people would just give up and move on to the next site.
You need an about me page, a contact me page, and it would be helpful to add meta tags to your blog.

I am sure you have looked into my little blog, please comment.
My problem is I am not sure what to really blog about..
http://goldcoaster.wordpress.com any post will do.
I am also starting about half a dozen other ones.(your 100 blog idea)Wait until I sort them out correctly first.
I want http://squizzed.blogspot.com/ to take over from the goldcoaster one – just because I can have a little adsense. At the moment I am only editing the standard template to make it vary in size depending on your screen (it was a fixed width one)
Date/Time: 5-31-2007 09:55:46 Comment #2594
Tell me more about the “GoldCoaster” screen name. Why do you use that as your Internet identity?
The reason why I am asking is because you have built a Wordpress.com blog using that as the URL and have built up the site to be a Google PageRank of PR5. It is obvious that your blog does get quite a bit of traffic. But if you are interested in monetizing and making money online, this is difficult for you because you have chosen to use the Wordpress.com platform.
If you are looking to make a shift in how you present yourself personally in the blogosphere, I would register you domain name, such as what I have done. With me, my name is Garry Conn. Either you read my blog or you don’t. Either you share similar interests as I do, or you don’t. On my personal blog, I don’t try to make money with it because, as you know, I have many other sites that do. This site is all about me and documenting my experiences online. I am successful blogging and I want to show many others the little secrets here and there that I do. I hate being broke. I hate living paycheck to paycheck, and I would never wish that upon anyone. And when I figure out things that work, I openly publish my ideas so that other people can “get a break” in life too. I am far from a selfish person… If I discover ways to make money online, I want you there with me doing it to.
So, having all that said, what is your blog about? You should register you own personal name, because that blog is about you and who you are and what you stand for… and secondly, don’t monetize it. On Garry Conn dot Com, I have friends here… I trust my friends and they trust me. My readers are not cows with tags in their ears. I don’t try to make money online at their expense because I have many other sites that do!
I am not sure how many people you have as regular readers on your site, but what I would do would be to launch a new site using your real name as the domain name. Secondly, I would then email all my regular readers, and tell them what you have done and invite that over to your new site. Thirdly, I would create a post on your old site and announce that you have moved to a new site.
After you feel like you have everyone moved over…. then I would do what I could in my power to make money online using your Wordpress.com blog. Which unfortunately, you are very limited.
The only thing that comes to mind is converting your wordpress.com site into this: “GoldCoaster Lamps” and start writing product reviews about all the individual lamps that GoldCoaster, Inc. sells.
According to this page, Wordpress.com does allow you to include one link to Amazon.com. So I would then launch an Amazon Affiliate Store and build a lamp and lighting store. From there when people read your product reviews then can enter your store and make purchases.
Now, if this is your chosen identity… then discard everything I am saying and blog on! But never expect to make money from your personal blog.
The word, “GoldCoaster” pulls up 34,000 results in Google and your site is #2. The first site is GoldCoaster, Inc. who is a lamp manufacturer. And that is why I mentioned writing product reviews about their lamps.
With your Wordpress.com site being ranked so closely to them as is… it would soon take the number one spot… and in time I am sure that you could contact them and make an agreement to write reviews direct for me and swap out the Amazon store for your own store that sell the lamps as an official distributor.
Really, the sky is the limit… the only limit in things is failing to recognize what your limits are. If you put your mind to it, you can make money online selling crystallized dirt.
First thing is first… you need to have a blog with purpose… and if GoldCoaster is your identity… that is fine, but from there I would use that blog to document what you do in your life. If making money online is one of your major projects, then I would communicate to others using that blog about what you do and about the various efforts you apply towards this goal. Otherwise, blog on, make friends and have fun.
Your personal blog represents yourself. The blogosphere is basically like the playground in school. Depending on how much you socialize and how many friends you have and how genuine of a person you are and how “Like-able” of a person you are… reflects how popular you are in the school playground.

I would be interested in your comments
thanks

I think your site would be more effective in the search engines if you registered a paticular domain name I have found for you. (Emailing you privately with the domain name).
It seems that you are getting some comments on your posts. I would advertise this fact as well as reward your commenters at the same time by installing the “Show Top Commenters” plugin.
Your site looks good. Make sure you show off the fact that your site is busy and continue to create a desire for people to visit. Lastly, I would consider changing domain names in order for you to find more success with gaining readers via the major search engines.
Date/Time: 5-31-2007 10:20:03 Comment #2597
MUCH appreciated Gary!!! I registered videojournalismblog.com immediately before even looking at the comment. You are spot on about the other stuff.

LOL! Good deal… now we can advertise the crap out of it.

Now, that’s money baby!!!!
Congrats on scoring the domain name. I am very pleased to discover that this will help you so much in the long run of things.
Give that sick ass puppy of a domain name some Kibbles ‘n Bits (content) and I will provide you with a water bowl (link love). Just drop me a comment when you have it up and running and I will exchange blogroll link with you.

Garry – do I have to change the name of the blog or can I get the same benefit by just pointing the new domain name to shootingbynumbers?

Hi Garry
You must have managed a way to clone yourself, to be able to do everything you are doing. Or else your chained to the computer.
I have taken on board everything you have tried to teach me. So I thankyou for your help.
So any encouragement by way of a comment is always helpful.
I have chosen to blog about music, in a humorous fashion the ups and downs of quests, etc.

Date/Time: 5-31-2007 10:16:31 Comment #2596
No, I haven’t cloned myself just yet, still working on doing so…
and no, its the other way around. My laptop is CHAINED to me. My laptop is my slave and I command it every day to pay my mortgage and to put food on the table for my family! I crack that whip and make it work for me! Bad laptop… BAD!!!
Your domain name is spot on. You have a great domain name for the content you are offering on your site. You should install Wordpress on your site and either make it a blog or create a blog section. Wordpress is what I have coined as a, “Search Engine Magnet”. Having Wordpress installed, coupled with a great domain name, coupled with great content related to that domain name, and with a few minor tweaks to the program, gives you a search engine magnet for the keywords you want to target. Wordpress is totally amazing when you have added all the additional elements perfectly.
