		<title>Make Money Online with TradeKing.com</title>
<description> [1]Many years ago when I was in my early 20's my father and I both setup two Ameritrade.com accounts. Back then, it was actually quite expensive to set up accounts like this. At the time, you were required to fund your account with a minimum of $1,500 USD. We both decided to get separate accounts based on a challenge to see who could make the most money online by day trading. It was a total blast, but there was really no true winner because we both ended up losing our money by doing terrible and foolish things. It was fun though and both my father and I were pretty evenly matched with losing our money! A few years later, unfortunately my dad passed away, but I still have access to my account and use it to invest into a more slower paced and sensible type of trading.

The reason why I am sharing this with you is because I found another site called TradeKing.com [2]. Unlike how it was for my father and I with Ameritrade.com, you can join TradeKing.com for free [3]. The only money you need to bring is the money needed to make trades. They don't force you to fund your account when you join. I find that very pleasing as I am sure there are a lot of people who can't afford the costly price of funding an old Ameritrade.com account.

TradeKing.com is like many of the other sites out there. It gives you open access towards buying and selling stock on the Internet. With their service you can even purchase Google stock if you wanted to. The current price price for Google stock is around $300 dollars [4]. Even though this price is low for Google and it could be seen as a great time to buy, that amount is really high to play with. I would actually recommend purchasing Yahoo stock [5] instead. Right now they are at their all time low. All you need is just a little faith and they'll bounce back. I mean come on, it's Yahoo, they're not going to go bankrupt anytime soon.

I don't talk too much about stocks on my blog, but I do have a lot of interest in the stock market and I am going to put a lot more focus on investing. You should too! And with companies available such as TradeKing.com, it has never been any easier to do so. You can also count on me making a purchase and investing more into Yahoo! Wish me luck, hope they don't go bankrupt.

What kind of experience do you have with the stock market? Have you traded online before? Does this sound interesting to you or does trading online feel a little risky? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

<title>The Day After John Chow Lost To Google&#8230;</title>
<description>If you have been following all the past drama and various viral stories that surface on the Internet regarding the emotional and wrecking trauma that occur to famous - as well as not so famous Internet marketers and bloggers - then you might remember last summer of 2007 when the story surfaced about John Chow getting penalized in Google. As the story began to surface, many people, including myself, had already suspected that Google deranked John Chow's popular blog because of how he was abusing the power his blog harnessed.

During that time, it wasn't uncommon to read various declarations on John Chow's blog boasting how he ranked #1 for the term "Make Money Online" in Google. John Chow would push the envelope and lure his readers into his ploy towards continuing his domination in the search results. With much hype and falsely fabricated value, John Chow would persuade his readers to link to his blog using the "Make Money Online" anchor text and in exchange, John Chow would include their link in future posts.
"All you have to do is link to my blog home page with the anchor text make money online," and, "I link to anyone who reviews my blog." - From the post, Make Money Online Batch #56 [1]
These posts were called Make Money Online - Batch Reviews and by the time it was all done and over with, John Chow completed 86 in total and scored close to 100 pages in Google [2] prior to them putting an end to his anarchistic behaviors. Blindly, John Chow wanted so much power, he failed to see the wonderful power Google had already given him. Prior to his numerous attempts to manipulate Google's ranking system, his blog already ranked quite well in Google for the search terms that were important to him. But by pushing that envelope too far, John Chow's blog paid a huge price and also a price that hundreds, including myself, suspected would come in due time.

On June 19, 2007, the next day after John Chow lost his rankings in Google, he quickly released a post which explained to his readers that the cause of his deranking in Google was due to a WordPress plugin malfunctioning. He explained that the Googlebot came to his site at the same time his blog was being subjected to a MySQL DOS attack and then the very next day his rankings had disappeared.
"I concluded that the Googlebot must have came around the time when the crazy Comment Relish plugin did the MySQL DOS attack on me and took the blog down for almost two hours. The next day, I find my ranking had gone down for many of the keywords I ranked for, including make money online." - From the post, Live by The Google, Die by The Google [3]
For the many weeks that John Chow selfishly put his own readers at risk of losing their own rankings in Google by participating in his link building scheme he then offered a warning explaining that losing your rankings in Google can be a very scary thing and then explained that other bloggers should work on alternative ways to build traffic to their blog.
"For many websites, their only source of Internet traffic is Google. Without it, their traffic is nothing. That is a very scary situation to be in," and, "You should work on getting Google traffic, but you shouldn't do it the exclusion of everything else. If the bulk of your traffic comes from Google, then you need to work on getting other traffic sources." - From the post, Live by The Google, Die by The Google
That word of advice seemed to have come a day late and a dollar short after racketeering one of the largest link building schemes on the Internet, and all at the expense of his own readership. Just a nine days later on June 28, 2007, John Chow shared more advice and a humble warning concerning Google traffic. His statement was more of a cover up for his costly and embarrassing mistake of leading his blog into the bottomless pit of deranking in Google. He explained to his readers that his blog carried absolutely no dependency on Google and that his blog held great power by the thousands of blogs that link to him. He further continued on by devaluing the free traffic that Google supplied to his blog prior to getting penalized.
"This is a good time to remind everyone that if you live by the Google, you'll die by the Google. I do not depend on Google for my traffic and neither should you. Thousands of people have this blog bookmarked and nearly 6,000 read it by RSS. Way too many webmaster put too much time and effort into Google to try and gain a number one ranking." From the post, It's All About Pushing The Limit [4]
If John Chow feels like too many webmasters place too much time and energy into Google, then why did he invest so much time into doing it himself? John Chow created a massive link building campaign that spanned across a grand total of 86 posts on his blog? I find it entertaining how for many months John Chow built up hype about how powerful it is to rank in Google and to be ranked number one in their search engine, but then after his blog got deranked, he then suddenly started whistling another tune.

For those who wonder how John Chow got so popular, you made him popular. John Chow used you, he used your blog and he used and consumed every resource he could manipulate and get into his hands towards creating the blog as you see today. John Chow does not and will not teach you how to make money online. Instead, he will use you, your resources, and your own blog to make money online for himself.

<title>Are You Inspired To Make Money Online?</title>
<description>Are you inspired to make money online? What is your inspiration? What puts fuel into your burner, what drives and motivates you? Asking these questions brings up a guy name Gary Vaynerchuk. I can't remember when the first time I stumbled onto Gary Vaynerchuk [1]; however, I can tell you the first time I watched one of his wine video shows, my jaw dropped. The guy has mad skills and he has energy like you would never believe. I try to make my rounds to his various sites at least once a week. That might not sound like a lot, but for me... it is. If anyone can capture my attention to the degree where I physically follow their work at a minimum of once a week, they're doing something right.

Here is a video that I watched of Gary Vaynerchuk, I actually found it on Nate Moller's blog [2], I don't really know Nate too well, I just found his blog today on BloggingQuestions.com [3]. Nate seems to provide some great material on his blog, such as the posted the video of Gary Vaynerchuk, so you might consider subscribing to Nate's blog [4] as well. The reason why I want to share this video of Gary Vaynerchuk is because it inspired me to step my business up a notch.

It seems like it is the norm for people to expect that making money online is something that should come easy. My perception of people (and in many ways including myself) is that making money online is looked at as an escape from the typical 9 to 5 job. While indeed, if you can pull it off and create a successful online business, you are no longer working for The Man; however, you are working for yourself. And in my experience, I work ten times harder for myself than I did for any company.

I guess what I am telling you is this: While you are struggling to make money online, there is money totally in front of your face. On the Internet, money does grow on trees. However, it is your job to build the ladder used to climb up the tree to pick the money off. Secondly, it is your job to find the trees that grow the money. If you step back for a minute and apply basic business marketing tactics, you'll see how much money you are missing.

When I was a kid (ten years old), just like everyone else, I had a lemonade stand. I sold lemonade for $0.05 a glass. It was warm and I am sure it tasted like shit. The first day when I set up my stand, I didn't make any money. The reason was simple. I had the stand set up at the bottom of my driveway. (No traffic) The next day, I decided to move my lemonade stand up to the entrance of my neighborhood where there was much more traffic. On day two I made a lot of money because I recognized what was needed in order to make money.

I needed traffic. I needed exposure. I needed for people to see that I was selling lemonade. Now, looking back on things today, I know what I did was smart. I can study that decision I made as a child. However, twenty years ago when I was ten years old, I had no idea about the concept of business strategy or even marketing for that matter. I was ten years old and on instinct, I knew that hell... I needed to have my lemonade stand somewhere where there was a lot of passing cars.

What does this all mean for you? Well, in many ways, I am telling you that you need to act and follow your instincts just like a child. A child has no fear. A child does things that most all adults would be too bashful to do. A child acts without fear of consequence or rejection. In many ways, a child can make an excellent person in sales. Why? Because a child's mind hasn't had enough time to be subjected to adulthood where commonly most all adults have more reasons why THEY CAN'T do something rather than reasons why THEY CAN!

If a child wants to get a cookie out of the cookie jar against the rules placed by mom and dad, guess what? That child will eventually get that cookie. You as an adult want to make money online with your blog. How bad do you want this? I am not telling you to break any rules. But what I am telling you is that you need to have more childlike aggression and passion towards completing your objective.

Anyway, my intention wasn't to write a novel here but more to just share this video with you. I think that you'll enjoy watching it and I also think that if you have never heard of Gary Vaynerchuk that you'll appreciate me telling you about him. I think you can learn a lot from Gary and I think at a minimum he may inspire you or at least light a fire under your feet to get you going. Enjoy!

<title>My Advice To Those Who Want To Start Blogging</title>
<description>Do not think that finding success in blogging comes easy. Prepare yourself for many trials and errors and learn from each and every mistake that you make. Take what you have learned and apply it immediately. Once you apply what you have learned, expect to make even more mistakes. Once again, learn from them.

Educate yourself. Understand how WordPress works. Teach yourself the basics of HTML and PHP. Discover how search engines work, especially Google and learn how to have your article content visible in search engines.

Learn about social networks and how to find and make friends online who share a common interest with you. Never have fear in asking others for help. The worse they can say is no and those who do decide to help, their help will provide a significant benefit for you and the growth of your blog.

Never break trust with your readership and always treat them with the highest level of love and respect. Always extend your knowledge and time towards helping them. Your blog is nothing without its readership and you are nothing without your blog. Treat your readership exactly how you would want to be treated yourself. Always be yourself and be true with your stories and the information you share with them.

<title>Learn about The Direct Agents Performance Network</title>
<description>The folks over at Direct Agents Performance Network [1] have been advertising a banner on my blog for the last few weeks. I think they do a great job and recently they had asked me if I would cover a post on my blog about them. If you have been looking for a new advertisement network to work with, I would be sure to check them out. You'll quickly find that their services are truly unique and they go far and beyond their competitors. Take a look at the included message from Direct Agents Performance Network, you'll be glad that you did.

The Direct Agents Performance Network boasts a clean, user-friendly, and streamlined interface that operates intuitively and effectively. Upon logging in, the user is greeted with a page that provides current top performing campaigns, the user’s balance, Direct Agents news, and links to various resources that optimize the user’s earning capability. The DAPN also sets itself apart by providing the user with their own individual media buyer and account manager, so each affiliate is offered regular technical and campaign support by a team of Direct Agents representatives, instead of just an individual affiliate manager.

Each page in the affiliate login is organized in a similar, uncluttered fashion. The Campaigns page lists over 100 active campaigns broken down by country and name. Available reports include sub ID, keyword, date, campaigns, banner, and landing page. Also included are impressions, clicks, leads and clikthru ratios which ensure that each affiliate has sufficient information to assess ROI and properly optimize. Users can also track and follow their lifetime earnings with DAPN. While extremely thorough, these options are easily attainable and recognizable, as the interface remains clear and structured, never once overwhelming or distracting.

Direct Agents also recently launched an Affiliate Referral Program, which offers 3.00% commission on all valid leads generated by referrals. The Referral Program is clearly outlined within the Network and is easy to use, with a referral link provided for each user.

Most importantly, Direct Agents has built up a considerable portfolio of direct, exclusive relationships with high-quality advertisers that allow Direct Agents to guarantee the best available payout, quality campaigns, and high conversions and optimization. <title>BloggingQuestions.com - A Place Where Bloggers Can Ask Questions and Get Answers</title>
<description>I just launched a new blog today called BloggingQuestions.com [1] and you are invited to come check it out and participate.  This is a brand new community blog where you can go to ask questions related to blogging. I launched the blog earlier today and sent out an email to my mailing list subscribers and so far I have had a very excellent response.

The blog is quite unique and I think you'll enjoy visiting it. As blogging continues to grow in popularity, so does the demand for answers related to it. As of this moment BloggingQuestions.com is covering the following topics: CSS and styling, design and HTML, how to make money online, marketing and promotion, programming and PHP, and even search engine optimization. Just only after a few hours of going live, the site already has over 30 posts, 8 categories, close to 50 tags and over 50 comments!

How the community blog works is very simple: People can subscribe to the blog and read newly asked questions or even archived ones. Because these questions have been asked by readers such as yourself, it is very likely that you will have a personal interest in the questions being asked and the answers that go with them.

The part that makes BloggingQuestions.com "one of a kind" and totally unique is the fact your questions are welcomed! There is no such thing as a stupid question on BloggingQuestions.com. You are invited to ask your own questions! Simply create a free account and then post your question LIVE on the blog. From there people who read the blog (including myself) can provide you with answers by using the comment form.

The purpose of creating this site is very simple: Back a few weeks ago when I wrote the post that invited you and all of my readers to ask me a question, it became a pretty big success. Within just a few days shy of a month, I answered over 100 questions and still today, people are continuing to ask them. I figured that if so many people have so many questions about blogging, why not create an entire community blog where everyone can help by answering questions. I am not the only blogging expert. So, I had the vision of starting a site where other bloggers could shine and gain the rewards of being an expert in their skills.

The purpose of BloggingQuestions.com is to host a web site that allows for people to learn more about blogging while also allowing the experts to answer their questions and gain credibility for doing so. The more questions you answer on the blog, the more popular you get which gives you the opportunity to totally increase your traffic and recruit new readers to your blog. In fact, I even have a widget that is shown on the sidebar of every page on the blog that showcases the Top Ten Blogging Experts. This widget displays the names of the top blogging experts and provides a direct link to their own blog.

Also, people who post their questions on BloggingQuestions.com are rewarded as well. Every post you create on the community blog, your author name and a direct link to your blog is displayed directly below the post title. The more questions you ask, the more traffic you can get to your blog. Also, and most importantly, when you post your questions on the blog, they will be answered by not only me, but many of the Top Blogging Experts who are contributing on the blog.

I hope that you will accept my invitation to visit the blog and I can't wait for you to ask your first question. Simply register [2] for a free account and then post a question [3]. I will be standing by, ready to answer your questions and so will the rest of the newly established community members. Also, subscribe to the RSS feed [4] or get updates by email [5] so that you too can help other people when they ask their questions. The more questions that you answer for people, the more you will establish yourself as a blogging expert. And that will help you recruit new readers and increase traffic to your own blog.

<title>How To Use The Google AdWords Keyword Tool</title>
<description> [1]In this article I am going to show you how to use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool to find topics and keywords to write about that in return will make you money online. As you know, there are quite a few topics that you can write about that will enable you to make money online. I tend to choose topics that monetize well using Yahoo Publisher, Google Adsense and other similar ad serving programs.

As a quick example, one topic that does not monetize very well is the WordPress topic. If you want to make money online by writing content that you plan to monetize, writing content related to the topic of  WordPress really isn't your best choice. You can clearly see this in the screen shot provided. Take a look at this screen shot below:

 [2]

The above screen shot is from Google AdWords Keyword Tool. As you can see, the topic of WordPress is not ideal if you plan to monetize the content later using Google AdSense or other similar programs. With that said, The Google AdWords Keyword Tool is a great tool to use for discovering various topics to write about. The Google AdWords Keyword Tool allows you to discover four elements that are very important to know when researching keywords.

<title>Concrete Advice For Making Money Online With Niche Blogs</title>
<description>According to Wikipedia, concrete curbing [1] is the process of adding a raised concrete edge to a street, walkway or paved path. A concrete curb is used for both cosmetic purposes, safety and to aid in proper drainage of a roadway.

According to the results found in the Google AdWords keyword tool [2], creating a niche blog about concrete curbing can make you some very decent money. The search term concrete curbing receives an average of 6,600 searches in Google per month. Google AdWords advertisers are paying up to $4.63 per click. The concrete curbing search result page [3] in Google has only 527,000 search results making the base competition relatively low. Scanning the results on the serp page shows me that many of the sites listed aren't very optimized in terms of SEM and SEO. Let's take a closer look:

Google AdWords Keyword Tool
 [4]

In this screen shot you can see that keywords related to the term "Concrete Curbing" have an estimated Avg. CPC of $4.64 and have an average monthly search count of 6,600. Additionally, you can see that this niche also has some excellent material for multiple articles.

<title>Make Money Online Building a Blog about Gardening</title>
<description>Do you like gardening? Can you write about it? If you can answer yes to both of these questions, then in this article I can show you how you can make money online by building a blog about gardening. A gardening blog is a perfect niche blog to start because in my research it seems like there is an almost endless amount of material that you can write about.

Using the Google AdWords Keyword Tool as well as my trusty copy of Micro Niche Finder I can see that advertisers are willing to pay good money to display their ads on your blog. The only thing you need to do is create the blog, produce the content and score AdSense Money. Let me show you more of my findings.
Level One: Primary Keyword Filtration - Gardening
When I start my search for a niche topic I do a search for primary keywords such as using basic words like: car, boat, education, gardening, house, etc.  Doing this gives me a list of more focused words. We'll call these secondary keywords. Here are two screen shots:
Google AdWords Keyword Tool For Gardening:
Keywords related to the word gardening sorted by estimated CPC.

 [1]

In the above screen shot the secondary keyword phrase that has caught my eye is the term, garden lighting. In a few minutes we'll talk more about this.
Micro Niche Finder For Gardening:
 [2]

In the above screen shot you will see that Micro Niche Finder has also reported a similar keyword phrase, garden lights. I use Micro Niche Finder to cross reference when doing my first level primary keyword searches in order to see if I can find matching secondary keyword phrases in both programs.

<title>Make Money Online by Creating WordPress Landing Pages</title>
<description>In this article I am going to show you how to make money online by creating your own landing pages using your WordPress blog. These pages increase the odds of you make you money online because you can direct traffic to these pages using your own blog traffic.

All you need to do is pick some ad campaigns that you think will work for you blog, write nice articles about the campaigns that you want to promote and instead of making a blog post with your article, simply publish the article in your special landing page. From there, all  you need to do is link relevant words or phrases within your blog posts and point the links to these landing pages.

To make your job of seeding these links to your WordPress landing pages, you can use a plugin called aLinks [1]. This plugin allows you to pick words or phrases from all your blogs posts and automatically link them to your destination of choice. With aLinks, you can point links to other web pages, direct them to external affiliate landing pages, or in this case, you can point the links your own custom WordPress landing page.

The reason why you want to build your own landing pages is because sometimes the default landing pages available really aren't all that good. If you can build a better page and write better content than the material included, you can increase your odds of getting the desired call to action. With that said, here is how you can create your own WordPress landing pages.

<title>How Can I Make More Money Online with Google AdSense</title>
<description>Do you want to squeeze out a few more dollars with your Google Adsense earnings? I figured it would be a neat idea to do an open forum style post where you could tell me a little bit about your site in question, leave a link to your site so that I can find it and then I would review it and then make a suggestion or two on how I feel you could make some minor changes to it in order to squeeze out a few more dollars.

So here is the deal. When you drop a comment, let me know the URL of your site and tell me a little bit about the site. It is important that you do tell me about the site and try to give me some general stats and information about the site. From there, I will visit your site and reply back to your comment and provide a quick overview/review and a suggestion or two on some changes you could make to the site to increase your AdSense earnings.

Sound cool? Keep in mind, when you put the URL into the comments, it is very likely that your comment will NOT post live as it will be held in moderation. Do not worry about this, I am always glued to my blog and will approve your comment. There is no need to make the same comment twice. If you don't see your comment here on my blog after 24 hours, then feel free post the comment again.

Ok.... I got a firm grip on my computer, so fire off the questions. Do you think that I can answer every one? Ask a question and find out for yourself. ;)

<title>Make Money Online By Building Profitable Niche Blogs</title>
<description>Lately I have been talking a lot about building niche blogs and even niche static web sites. As many of my original batch of readers know, I have a trusted friend in this business who I work with quite frequently. Over the last year and a half we have done quite a few really productive things together. During that same period of time, he has also shown me quite a bit of things that has helped me in my own ventures.

You read my blog mainly because you have a strong interest in learning how to make money online. I don't think you read my blog to discover what color socks I wear or if I prefer Pepsi over Coke. So with that said, my friend, David Cooley, and I have teamed up to offer you an eBook and a WordPress theme that will help you with creating your own niche blogs.

The eBook is called CyberCoder's WordPress Niche Guide. It is an eBook that is quick and to the point. You don't have to worry about all the typical junk included in many other eBooks, you don't have to worry about separating out promotional content from REAL content. This entire eBook, while being very short, is something that indeed will help you. As a bonus, included with this eBook is a copy of the actual CyberCoded Tag Niche Theme that I have personally been using for well over a month now.

The CyberCoded Tag Theme is a very basic, simple and bare bones WordPress theme. Make no mistake, this theme isn't designed to be flashy and it doesn't have any bells and whistles. It has been designed for one purpose and one purpose alone: To Make Money Online.

Here are some screen shots of sites that I own that is running the theme:

Screen Shot: #1 - New Zealand Aircraft For Sale: PR2. Over 10,000 visits per month, earns average of $450 / month using Google AdSense. Age, 1 year old. Prior to running CyberCoded Tag Theme, income was around $200.

 [1]

Screen Shot: #2 - Cheap Refurbished Laptops: Site launched Sept. 1st. Indexed in 7 days, three weeks 54 pages indexed. Monetized with Google AdSense. This three week old site has already made $25 dollars!

 [2]

Both of these niche blogs are doing very well and make quite a bit of passive income using Google AdSense. Of course you can use this theme to market and promote anything you want; however, you all know that I am an AdSense nut, so I choose to write content and monetize it with AdSense.

With that said, this package is for sale for a super low cost of $24 dollars. When you purchase this package, you also get free updates to both the eBook as well as the WordPress Theme itself. Secondly, you get free support and free newsletter updates.

All in all, if you want my opinion, this is the best $24 dollars that you could possibly spend. Again, that is all assuming that you have an interest in making money online and doing it exactly how I, Garry Conn, have been doing it for almost two years. Enjoy!

<title>Ask Me a Question, Get an Answer (Part I)</title>
<description>Ask me a question and get an answer. It's as simple as that. Need some help with something, ask me a question. Want to know my opinion about something, ask me your question. Want to know if I like a certain make money online program better than another, ask me and find out. Do you want to know if I am really human or a machine, ask me and discover the truth.

Every once in awhile, I do a post like this where I allow everyone who reads it an opportunity to get a reaction from me based off the question they ask. I will answer as many questions as possible and avoid all the difficult ones. lol

Seriously though... if you need help, curious about something, or just want to know something stupid and off the wall such as, "Hey Garry, which do you like better... cats or dogs?" drop me a comment below and fire off your question.

<title>Therapeutic Methods For Building Niche Blogs That Make Money Online</title>
<description>In this post, I am going to show you how you can make money online running therapy software niche blogs. By now, I think most of you guys and gals understand how to build these micro niche blogs. The process is very simple. I strongly believe that the content I produce on this blog is by far one of the most useful resources for anyone who wants to make money online by monetizing content with Google AdSense that targets specific keyword phrases in Google.

One of my more recent posts titled, Make Money Online with a Concrete Curbing Niche Blog [1], totally walks you through my internal thought process when choosing a keyword phrase to target. Today, I'll do it again, but listen up, because this very well may be the last time I do this. The reason is very simple. What I am about to reveal to you in this post is something that I would have done myself. However, instead of pushing forward with this niche, I have decided to share it with you and allow you the opportunity to take advantage of it.

<title>Make Money Online by Overhauling Your Old Blogs</title>
<description>In this article I am going to show you how you can make more money online by overhauling your old and outdated blogs. I have so many blogs I really don't even keep count. Many of them never really get updated. In my opinion, the myth about having to keep blogs is bogus. I guess it depends a lot on how that blog is formatted and how the content is presented. Anyway, with that said... here is a little tip for you that will possibly help you squeeze more money out of your older blogs. The reason why I am posting this is because these things I am about to suggest to you, I just did myself tonight. Here goes:

Review Your Google Indexing - Enter this into the Google search bar to view how many pages you have indexed:

site:yourname.com

If your blog has been sitting for awhile, you should have pretty much every page indexed. Count the number of posts, pages, categories and tags. Take that total number and compare it to the number of pages indexed in Google. They should be a close match.

Review Your Google Analytics Report - Specifically, your Traffic Sources / Keywords Report. The objective here is to see how people are finding your content in Google. Some of the things you need to look for are which keyword phrases, how often and why!

 [1]

This report will give you a complete list of keywords that people typed into the Google search bar to find your site, pages, posts, etc. Back track and find your listing in the SERPs. If you have the Google Toolbar installed, you can simply highlight the keyword phrase you want to research, right click and then perform a Google search on that exact phrase. From there, proceed to find your listing in the SERP. Usually your listing will be right there in the top ten.

 [2]

Having more awareness of the keywords that your site pulls up on is something I would suggest. Knowing this information also gives you the ability to expand further into various keywords that are working for you.

Upgrade To The Latest Version of WordPress - The reason I say this is because the site I was working on tonight never received any updates to it for over a year. Tags were a huge concern for me. The blog I was working on was a 60 article blog with around five categories and about ten pages. I had 72 pages indexed in Google. I was running WordPress 2.2.1 with no tags. I updated the blog and then started chipping away at my posts adding 3 to 5 tag phrases. Doing this will enable more pages to get indexed in Google.

Analyze Your Existing Keyword Targeting - The site I was working on tonight was totally lame! It had wonderful content on it, but very lame keyword targeting. The post titles were terrible and because of that, I was losing out on a lot of potential traffic. To correct this, I loaded each page into a keyword density checker and was then able to better optimize my post titles by changing them to include keywords that were used most frequently in the post. Additionally, as mentioned above, I added 3 to 5 tag phrases as well. These tags phrases were also based off my keyword density reports. Personally, I have my own desktop software that enables me to check for keyword density. You may want to do a simple Google search to find something you like. Also, if you change your post permalink (which isn't necessary) be sure to monetize your 404 page. You'd be amazed how much money a monetized 404 page will make you. Additionally, it can take months for Google to drop a page from the index.

Analyze Your Current Income Stream - On this older blog, I was using Shopzilla, Kontera and AdSense. I logged into my Shopzilla account and saw that I was sending them plenty of traffic over the last year, but their ads were failing to convert for me. Needless to say, Shopzilla is no longer on this blog. Kontera was performing very poorly as well and I removed that too. Google AdSense is guaranteed money. Some people like to gamble with their traffic in hopes to score commission and higher pay outs. There is nothing wrong with that, it's all about personal preference. I am not a risk taker and I settle for the crumbs. Every click into AdSense is money in my pocket.

Consider Working With New Programs - For me, Pepperjam works very well. After removing Shopzilla and Kontera from my blog I wanted to have something in their place as a plan B when visitors don't click AdSense. Pepperjam fits the bill perfectly. Fortunately for me, the blog I have has an advertiser in Pepperjam that allows for deep linking. With deep linking, you'll notice that many advertisers have a blog. You can find articles on their blog and share them with your readers simply by creating a special URL in Pepperjam that deep links to their blog post or page of interest. From there, you can simply take that special URL and add it into your blogroll. When a visitor clicks the link from your blogroll, there is a special tracker code in the URL and when the visitors meets the specific call to action, you will be credited. In many ways, this is so much better than taking the standard referral code and slapping it up on your blog. Taking extra time to find specific pages on an advertiser's site or blog that you feel is worthy of sharing with your readers on your own blog can totally increase your sales conversions.

Analyze Your Advertisement Positions and Sizes - Back a year ago, I wasn't very conscious of ad positions and sizes. Back then, I didn't know what size ads were better performers and also I didn't really grasp the concept behind having ads in hot spots on your site. My AdSense ads were in the right sidebar and most of my content was pure with out any monetization.

Rather than let your blog design or WordPress theme dictate where you put ads, you need to have the ad positions and sizes you want to use dictate what WordPress theme or blog design you use. For me, I updated my blog with my own custom theme. I prefer using the 300x250 size Google Ads and I have my own preference where I like to position them. The updated custom theme that I created and designed was make to perfect specification for where I wanted my Google AdSense ads to be displayed and also my Pepperjam advertiser ads.

Update Your Google XML Sitemap - This old blog as you know is a WordPress blog. After I updated to the current version of WordPress, I also updated my Google XML sitemaps plugin to its current version. The current version of this plugin allows for the tag pages to be recorded on your sitemap. Allowing your tag pages to index is very powerful for two reasons: One, you build more pages that will get indexed; Two, you create a pathway for Google and other search engines find your content more efficiently.

Overhauling an old blog can really help increase the amount of money you make online. Also, it can be more fun than building a new blog. For me, I build new blogs daily so having a change in my routine was wonderful. What did I miss? What else are you going to do when you overhaul your old blog? Leave me a comment and share your thoughts!

P.S. I want to help more people. Help me do that by spreading the word about me and my blog. Write a post about me on your blog, tell a few friends, submit this post into a few social networks. Anything you can do is very much appreciated. Also, if you haven't already done so, subscribe to my RSS feed [3] so that you will never miss a future article I write.
