Finding The Perfect Partners

Finding the perfect partners in blogging is difficult. Dealing with people and different personalities is even more difficult. Many people are so explosive and unpredictable its crazy… does this remind you of anyone? Someone who’s name begins with the letter “G” ? lol!!!

My good friend and business partner, Christine Senter, wrote one of the most thoughtful posts tonight and I wanted to share it with my readers here on GCDC.

Relationship building is very important, whether it is a personal relationship, a business one or both. I can’t even begin to tell you how much of a dedicated and committed person Christine is. My blogging ventures would NOT be the same without her.

Can you relate to this? Do you have one particular blogger that you have attached yourself too? Christine and I really are a perfect pair when it comes to friendship as well as business. We have never gotten into a single fight, nor have we ever argued about anything. We are both very open minded and listen equally to each other.

The old saying, “Two heads are better than one” is true… but sometimes in life or blog life, its hard to find the second head. Have you been fortunate enough to have this type of relationship with another blogger? I would love to hear your feedback regarding this.

Awww shucks, you’re making me blush (you’re money’s in the mail)

Just joking. But you are very right about finding the perfect partners. When 2 or more people go into business together, the only way it really works well is when everyone involved takes the time to really listen to the others. That’s why I love working with you so much. It’s not about who’s getting what out of the deal, but what we can do for each other, and that’s why it works so well.

It’s not easy finding someone online that you can really trust, but you and I have made this a real partnership. It’s not about being 2 seperate individuals out for themselves, it’s about partners working for the greater good of all involved.

Honestly, Garry, I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for you. I have really learned a lot since we started working together, and the fact that neither one of us tries to take control of everything is the reason all of our stuff works.

You know, I really think if all the bloggers I’ve met so far would take the time to say thank you to those who helped them along the way, this would be the closest thing to Utopia in existance. Thanks again, Garry. I see myself as being very lucky to have you as a business partner, and a friend.

Finding a business partner is like finding a roommate. You never know what someone’s dirty underwear looks like until you move in with them.
Sorry for the visual there but yes there is a long winded point in here somewhere.
I have been through a number of partners throughout the years, and I find the most important connection partners need to make is a shared goal.
I commented the other day on how everybody is on a different path. Well this just is just a disaster in the making if partners aren’t on the same path.
It would be like a the cute little church organist marrying a strung out crack head. Sure they love each other, but can it really work? Nope, we already tried.
But seriously folks…
I have a great friend who wants to start a b&m business with me. This guy sold his old biz for roughly $750K and is now quite comfortable and has no real drive.
Me, I probably owe $750K and I’m considering selling vital organs.
As you can see, it just won’t work if you get us two together. I’m ready to move on projects yesterday, he can afford to wait. Even if we do get started, he’s not willing to put in the same amount of time and effort to achieve quicker results.
Anyway, it’s late and I’m beginning to babble. Good point in the post, I will definitely now go over to Christine’s site and read what she had to say.

Now there’s an interesting comparison. LOL

Don’t give up, Cary, and please don’t sell any organs just yet. LOL The first thing in finding a good business partner is in making sure your personalities blend. That’s why Garry and I work so well together. If both partners don’t have the same goal in mind, it’s already over.

LOL!!!. This one was awesome too!

Cary, your blog is awesome man… I have enjoyed reading it and getting to know you better. I am sure things will start to pick up for you as well. I subscribed to your feed last night and I am sure many of my friends here will start to do the same thing.

I probably owe $750K and I’m considering selling vital organs.

Unless the people you owe the money too aren’t going to start chopping off fingers and things like that, then forget about it. Claim bankruptcy… have a drink and enjoy new beginning with financial rebuilding! :)

If any part of the 750K is from friends and family, then yeah… you might have an interest in repaying… but if its credit card debt and things like that… and if your credit is already suffering, etc… I would just say screw it and start the 7 yr plan of rebuilding. :)

At least for a few years… then we all have to look into the trade in options. :)

Watch it, Bucko!

Thank you Mark! :)

I was talking about you trading me in! LOL!!!!

Nice lady… calm… put that that rock down…

9 Mark { 12.30.07 at 6:25 pm }

Oh dude…you don’t want to tick the nice lady off. You haven’t seen her rock collection. Most impressive. :)

10 Garry Conn { 12.30.07 at 6:27 pm }

If it is anything like her gun collection, then I am screwed. :)

PS… When you are blogging on MAMD???? I have withdrawals!

11 Mark { 12.30.07 at 6:30 pm }

I’m working on a post this evening. I’ve had withdrawals, too.

Looking forward to it showing up here! This section is slowing becoming more of my “Google Reader” for me.

13 Christine Senter { 12.30.07 at 6:35 pm }

Now boys, I don’t have a gun collection. I don’t do guns.

However, I do have a strange fascination with knives, blades, and swords. I get all tingly around them.

14 Garry Conn { 12.30.07 at 6:37 pm }

Oh great! That is much worse!! Sure torture me for a few hours and then I’ll die a slow painful death… are you sure you can’t just get into guns? LOL!!!!
