Reflecting on how I have been running my blog for the past two year leads me to realize that my blog doesn’t really cater to new Bloggers. That isn’t cool at all. My articles and content are really far to advanced for new bloggers to understand. There is nothing wrong with that, but I feel like I am not providing an effective service to people who want to start blogging and secondly who have an interest in eventually making money online with their blog! I aim to change that.

Over the weekend I have spent quite a bit of time searching around the Internet - places like Twitter, Yahoo! 360, etc. - and I quickly realized that there are thousands of people who need help with blogging and they simply don’t know that I am willing to provide them with advice, tips and tricks on becoming a successful blogger.

So with that said, I am going to be adjusting things here on my blog and I am going to start producing more content that new bloggers can find useful. For the majority of bloggers who read my blog already, I am sure that you guys and gals won’t learn much from this content, but you can actually help me by providing supportive and postive comments to the new people that will be surfacing here on the blog. Also, for many, this could prove to be an excellent blog tips refresher course!

This will be your time to shine as a GCDC reader and show these new readers who you are and how you can help them as well. With that said, I am really looking forward to making the minor adjustment in my writing topic, and you can still count on me helping you with advanced blogging tips and advanced strategies with making money online. Even more a reason to join my mailing list. (hint)

Wow. You are doing it again and proving to be the real deal. Other leading blogs make outrageous promises and really are more interested in their own bank accounts than assisting others. You keep proving that you are more interested in teaching others to be successful and that brings a reward greater than money. But you know what? It will also bring monetary reward because people will recognize you as the real deal and what goes around comes around.

I look forward to both learning and contributing.

Hi Eric!

Where have you been stranger? I guess you can say the same for me as well. Thanks for the awesome comment and I look forward to having your here during this slight shift in “Topic Adjustment” as we’ll call it. ;)

It’s been awhile since we last talked, so I wanted to personally invite you over to my new blog as well at http://www.BloggingQuestions.com. I hope that you’ll register for an account and fire off some killer questions and pick out a few existing posts and help answer a few yourself.

Headed over to your blog in a few minutes, so have a nice hot cup of coffee waiting for me. :)

depends. Some people choose to do the “paid” blogs, which means for every 100+ word post (1 per day) that is approved get’s $1, plus $2 per CPM (1,000 unique vistors). Any and all traffic that comes in is money in your pocket.

I don’t know how it works for the un-paid blogs, as both of mine are paid. The only way you won’t get a post approved is if it has affiliate links in the text body.

Oh, and they do NOT allow any form of outside monetization. Meaning, no personal google ads, kontera ads, or anything else of such.

Garry Conn Wrote a Comment:

Date/Time: 11-23-2008 00:24:29 Comment #27114

So one can basically make $30 dollars per month for writing one post per day and there is no other way to make additional streams of income except by sending them traffic.

So what happens if a publisher is able to direct 10,000 unique visits? They will pay you $5 dollars for that? Does it matter where the traffic goes? (i.e. your home page)

The URL you are using in the comments, when people click the above link, does that count towards the traffic?

Reason I am asking is one could easily write a 100+ word post and then just blast the shit out of it into all the social networks and score easily 10,000 visits, thus earning $6.00 / post then equaling $180 / month.

Wait a minute? That’s pretty cheap money for traffic. Hell, I’ll pay someone that much money to write on one of my niche blogs and funnel that much traffic to it! LOL!!!

LOLOLOL,

yes, any time someone checks out my site from here or anywhere else, it’s considered a visit. Uniques are set on a daily basis, so if you stopped by my site every single day, it’s considered a unique visit. And you can post your link on every fricking social site online, and it’s still ok.

No, it doesn’t bring in huge amounts of money, but it’s nice for a side-job. Plus, once you have a first site established, you can sign up for a second blog with all the same rules. So, if you create a post on each site, each day, that’s $60 a month plus whatever you generate in views. Payout is set at $50, so you could easily get paid each month-and no waiting a full 30 days to get paid

Sorry, didn’t explain myself very well. Christine mentioned today dot com earlier, which pay users per post and per 1000 visitors.

The external links appear to be dofollow. I just wondered if it’s worth building a free blog there to take advantage of the backlinks to benefit other projects?

I’m going to give it a try to find out.

That is an interesting question. As long as they allow external links, and assuming that you can build up your Today.com blog to a level where the links would be worth anything, I am sure that would work. The same could be said for setting up a Blogger.com blog as well as a WordPress.com blog. For me, I simply use my own internal fleet of blogs for much of my link building.

Secondly, if I have to put my link building hat on, that means I failed to accurately perform my keyword research. When I build niche blogs, I target keyword phrases that don’t require the need to have backlinks in order to rank well in the SERPs.

Cool, I am thinking to start a new blog but this blog will not be focusing on niche instead it will focus on general public in london. Basically it will be focusing on teens with talent.
Sir what you think about the idea is it worth while “niche”. ?
Though i am not in my teens is it worth while doing it ?

I would preferr to keep BloggingQuestions.com for beginners (bloggers and marketers) and GCDC for advanced users.

What do you think about ?

Hi Alex,

Here are my thoughts.

For the world, http://www.BloggingQuestions.com is an amazing place where bloggers can go to learn more about blogging by asking questions. Those bloggers who already know the answers are encouraged and rewarded towards answering them. The community blog covers any and all topics related to blogging at a beginner to expert stage in learning.

For me, http://www.BloggingQuestions.com satisfies my craving towards running a ridiculously high volume blog in which people won’t complain about. I tried pumping out that much content on GCDC before and you guys freaked out and said to slow down. I am extremely hyper (I can’t sit still in a chair), I am packed full of energy and information and I can type extremely fast.

Have you ever boiled water and purposely put a lid on the pot and pushed down on it towards making an attempt to keep the steam from escaping? Once the steam builds up pressure, it doesn’t matter how strong you are, the steam is going to start pouring out of the sides. That is the same thing that happens to me if I don’t expel this information trapped inside my mind onto digital paper. BloggingQuestions.com gives me the ability to escape steam.

Now with that said, let’s talk about GCDC and the elements that motivate me to operate this blog. The continued success and my ability to help people is knowing that the number of people I am helping is growing to high numbers. I have 937 reported RSS subscribers and I care for each and every one. However, the number of people I am reaching out to is not near enough to satisfy me.

There are literally thousands of people who are new to blogging and need help. The ratio of new bloggers compared to highly skilled and advanced bloggers, such as yourself, I would estimate to be 100 to 1.

For every one blogger who needs advanced help, there are 100 new bloggers who need help just getting started.

In the case of GCDC, this isn’t a situation to where I am now going to EXCLUDE advanced bloggers and leave them hanging. I have simply announced to new bloggers that I have a front door open to them and I will begin providing them with help by way of producing content that will cater to them while also balancing my desires to continue providing advanced tips to bloggers of a higher level of development such as yourself.

All in all, you should have no worries my friend, GCDC will always be a source for higher learning. ;)

It’s all up to your choise (the blogs are yours :) ), but I would not mix up too much basic topics with advanced topics, because the one anoys the advanced user the other anoys the beginner, and - as you told by yourself - your readers hardly can follow your posting-pace. So if you also add posts wich are without the skillsgrade of your reader, this adds even more noise.

I would (but it’s just me) make one blog for basics, one for advanced.

Right! I completely understand that. Let’s look at this from another angle. I have 937 subscribers. How many of those subscribers do I have an interaction with? I’d say 50 tops!

That equates to Less Than 5%

With that said, I am very diverse with the topics I can write about. GCDC can be a blog about any of the topics that I am truly very skilled in.

Which target audience will deliver me the greatest level of personal satisfaction?

As it is right now, I have 937 subscribers and at the most 5% of those people actively use the comment form to have an interaction with me.

I am sorry Alex, but in order for me to do what I enjoy doing, it depends on me having people tell me, “Wow! that is an awesome post Garry… You really HELPED ME and I APPRECIATE IT.

Granted, I am very pleased with you and the 5% of the people who actively talk with me and provide me feedback and share opinions, etc..

But, how far is that going to grow? The other 95% read my material and never even come here to say thank you.

So, you tell me what you would do?

A.) Cater to people who will illustrate their appreciation for what I do? Or,

B.) Sit here and write content that I KNOW helps people but makes me feel like a whore?

Over the weekend I spent time making my presence known in a community site that I never visited too often and I proceeded to help people and most were very appreciative of my help and in fact a few even wrote blog posts about me telling their readers how much of a helpful person I am. It felt great.

You are always keen on personal development, then you should know how someone feels if they are appreciated. I don’t feel appreciated for the hard work I provide on this blog that caters to the 95% of the 937 silent people that read my blog.

I want to know names, I want to see faces and I want to have people who read what I write respond to me.

If other people feel the same as you Alex, then the other 937 people who read my blog, sincerely need to voice their opinion and do so quickly.

My relationship with my readership needs to be just that, “a relationship among peers.” I enjoy very having a deep broadcast into the blogosphere, but that doesn’t provide any fulfillment unless I know that that broadcast is truly hitting home with people.

The only way I know if the broadcast is hitting home is when people interact with me.

My job is a very boring job. I build blogs all day that generate traffic that click on ads that pay me money. At the end of the day, I’d like to be able to come to my personal blog and interact with people who appreciate my help.

I don’t want to get off work and go to another blog and write even more content that goes into a big vacuum, void of any interaction.

Do you see where I am coming from? You have personally mailed me gifts from Italy because you are my friend and appreciate me, Mark Sierra last year mailed me a BestBuy gift card and a photograph of his loving and caring family, Mark Mason ordered flowers and had them delivered to the hospital room my wife was staying in after giving birth to Kasey, you also sent me a package for my wife and new born son and that made me so very happy, Christine Senter mails my family Holiday Cards and we hang them up proudly next to all the other cards we receive from friends and family.

These are wonderful things that I enjoy very much. And like I said, around 50 people come here and actively speak with me in the comments and tell me that either a.) I am doing a great job, b.) they illustrate that they appreciate what I have done, or c.) they add to the discussion and or challenge me intellectually. The other 95% consume my resources like a virus and when they have consumed all that is available, they will simply move on to the next carrier.

Now I can understand how YOU see the situation Garry: we got to the core of the discussion.

Sadly it’s a fact that nowaday we are no more used to say 2 simple and powerful words : Thank You !

…and this words can make a big difference. Also for me it’s the biggest reward when somebody drops me a comment on my italian personal development blog or even directly in PM saying that a post of mine has changed him and that he is thankfull. This could never be compared to the best Adsense day. That’s also the reason why in the middle of this year for some months I completely stopped doing MFA blogs (now I doing them again, but that’s another story…)

I would say that - making a generalization (what normally should not been done) - MMO people tend to be more greedy, just taking and not giving credit or thanking. So I’m able to perfectly understand your choise and I’ll respect it. I only hope to still get your gold nuggets for non-basic users (I’m not able to consider me an advanced user, I’ve still so much to learn).

Thank you for all what you’ve teached me (and that’s really a lot).

ciao

Since you have started helping bloggers. Its my humble request about your opinion for domain name called “peepsreview”.
I bought this domain without any research or anything and now i am stuck what should I do about it as I don’t want to sell it away, Basically I want to start blog on it but don’t know about what niche to choose for it which will reflect in its name and also have a monitizing potential

You can start something on it where people can review the stuff you post on your blog and use some popularity plugin etc to let the people decide how good the product is.

Gary,

Can I say that you are rare human species on earth!! Not many people have that kind of attitude…helping others while making money on their own. I love this blog and any of its kind educating people what to do to be successful on virtual and real world. I have been blogging on multiply for quite sometimes but it is more for social purposes with mixed language write up i.e in English and Malay language. Only for the past 2 weeks I am seriously involved in blogging for money.

I have chosen few keywords for my money making website and blog.
1. bizonlineopportunity.com
2. viralblogger.com

What say you about the domain that I have chosen?

Garry,

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Did I say thank you yet? I am a new blogger (2 months old) and have absolutely NO IDEA what I’m doing. I’m very much at the beginning of the learning curve and most sites that help bloggers are really for the experienced who don’t need hand holding. I think I’m off to an okay start with my blog (I mean, I’ve actually started it), but sometimes I feel like I’m just running in circles. I vacillate between knowing what I want to write about & then getting totally off track. PLUS, outside of adsense, the affiliate ads aren’t really pulling anything in (not that adsense is making me rich…LOL…I could work in a 3rd world country & make more).

Getting an audience (especially since I’m not a mommy blogger & not a blog blogger) has not been easy. Where to start, how to move forward, how to make money….the list of what I’d like to learn is endless.

So, I am very much looking forward to learning from you. Oh, did I say thank you?

Zippy

First of all, a very big THANK YOU to Garry. You obviously really do enjoy what you do and want to help others. It shows in posts like these. I was recently in the process of developing a website with affiliate links to generate income, but an unexpected encounter with BrilliantJeni and her referral to you has made me rethink the entire process. Call me naive or ignorant, but until recently I never understood the potential that existed in blogging for profit and I am about to change course with my fledgling site by turning it into a series of niche blogs. The brief conversation with Jeni and relevant info on your site has my juices flowing and ready to plow into the blogosphere. I am as new as they come and thirsty for knowledge about this type of internet marketing and I’m sure I have a long road ahead of me, but I am gaining knowledge with each passing day, largely thanks to your willingness to share and encourage.
Once I can establish the big picture in my head and answer the 5,297 questions I still have, I should be off and running. I will stay plugged in to your site and hopefully pick up the answers I need.
Keep up the good work, Garry!
