Get Rich Scams
Have you ever fallen for a get rich quick scam? Have you found a program that you are interested in but not sure if it was a scam? Get rich scams are everywhere on the Internet. And to be honest, it can be difficult to figure out which programs work and which ones do not. If you are interested in making money either online of offline, take some time to research the programs you are interested in. Keep in mind that when you see pages that use yellow highlighted text and red color fonts and seem to never end as you scroll down and down the page, 9 out 10 times the program is a scam.

Assembling products at home, stuffing envelopes and sending in $5.00 for a list of 1000 guaranteed money making programs are all scams. Trust programs that are widely known and are widely accepted. Trust programs that will hire you to work for them rather than having to pay money up front to participate.
If you went to apply for a normal job, say FedEx, and they told you that you were hired, but you had to pay them $120 dollars to start, would you decide to work for them? I wouldn’t… If I choose to work for someone or choose to participate in a program that will make me money, I will never pay to do that.
Also, if someone presents a program to me that “sounds too good to be true”, same thing… I won’t participate. Make no mistake, there is NO easy way to make money. No matter what you do, you will have to work for it. And if you want to make a lot of money, you will have to work your ass off. Nothing in life comes easy. Hard work, smart decisions, motivation and creative thinking is the key!

I fell for both in my early days, the Ed McMann (sp) one too.
That sucks… I hope that you didn’t lose a lot of money. In my experience using programs like Google Adsense, Yahoo Publisher, Amazon Associates, Commission Junction and other well established programs or programs created by well established companies are they way to go.
I am not saying that you shouldn’t give new programs a chance, but I am saying that sometimes it is difficult to decipher which ones are real and which ones are fake. It can be hard to research programs in question on the Internet as most of the pages that return in the results are others who participate in the programs themselves. All in all, it can be tricky finding programs that can help you make money. I play it safe and take the programs that are proven and make them work for me.
No not much it was 10 years ago, but I’ve learned a lot since then. I know many of those, “Get rich quick” things are schemes no matter how they try to sell it. I do believe in the ones you just mentioned though, I’ve seen it work to many times with friends.
I haven’t. You hit the nail in the head when you said, there is ‘no easy’ way to make money. Real earnings besides winning the lottery requires hard work. Anything that says otherwise and promises easy money, my alarms start going off. Great discussion for a Friday though.. Amen to going the well established programs route.
I fell for one about 7-8 years ago. I mailed off a money order for $39.95 or whatever it was and received a booklet with a list full of “work at home” companies that I could apply to. You know the kind, envelope stuffing, assemble small products at home etc…. Never tried any of them though.
I find it worrying how many people actually fall for scams on the internet and elsewhere. I’ve seen reports that suggest around 1% of all internet users will become a victim at some time or other, just as the other two commentators above.
Now, if you consider the number of people online, that 1% means these scammers are making an awful lot of money!
I’m just glad you didn’t finish this article with “Oh, and by the way, having tried all these scams, I’ve finally found the one true way to make money online – click here for the scamoneymaker!”
