Google should not do this by any means. This will cause mayhem in search engine ranking. Search engine results will look manuplated.

I'm not how this system will end up, ultimately I could imagine people trying to game it if it affected the generic listings - beyond that for the time being, it might be useful for your searches if you have sites you often find useful or be able to de-list "clutter" sites that are never useful to you.

I don't know, Garry. While I appreciate Google's efforts to improve quality, I still don't see how this can be any different than what they have going on right now. The ability to game this type of system is really the same as the methods being used now without it.

Even so, they should keep moving forward with trying to improve their results all the time, so it will be interesting to see what falls out of this.

I agree with Mark, in that Google is doing this for a reason. It will be to there benefit in the long run. Maybe this is the start of the change!

If there were a way to implement this - and avoid people gaming it - I think it would be a great tool!

But I don't want to see "Google SERP Assistants" popping up on the Outsourcing Sites!

One thing you can count on -- Google will do whatever results in more people using Google Search. That is pretty much all that matters.

Google is trying to roll out personalized search results for user.

In future:
1. search results will be based on personal needs and search behaviors.
2. google may use the personalized results to match advert
3. no 2 person will get the same search results even if they use the same search terms
4. google trying to get rid of SEO mentality from bloggers
