Google Releases AdSense Park Page For Domains
Today Google went completely live with AdSense For Domains and is available for all publishers who wish to sign up for the service. AdSense For Domains is interesting because it allows domain name owners the ability to monetize their parked domain names with Google AdSense ads rather than just do nothing with them.
With AdSense for domains, users can find relevant information rather than see empty pages or “page not found” errors. Today we present ads, links, and search results on the pages, and may add other useful information in the future. To ensure positive user experience and the quality of our network, these sites are monitored for policy compliance and prohibited from using text and images designed to confuse users.

The problem I see is that it can be fairly cumbersome to set up. In order to get the service to work you have to invest time into getting your domain name ready to accept the ads. The process can be fairly complicated for novice domain owners.

Hi John,
Thanks for sharing the link. I wanted to configure a domain so that I could see what it looked like but it was too much trouble.
I am very surprised to see that Google is actually doing this. The site looks like crap. Of course, this isn’t a direct reflection on you or your craftsmanship, it is merely the system of Google.
My question that I would like to raise is that if Google is against MFA (Made For AdSense sites) so much, then how come they allow for DFA (Domains for AdSense). Seems kinda hypercritical if you asked me.

So, it basically looks like a parking page? I don’t find anything useful about that. The CPC must be really low.

I am sure it is… well, then again as John pointed out… how is a park page going to get any traffic. See that is the point I never got about building park pages. If you are going to invest time into marketing one, why not just invest a little more time into building a site that will stand the test of time and be search engine friendly.

Well, I’ve seen with my kids why people build park pages. They are conditioned to going to “whatevermytopicis.com” to look something up. They don’t bother with Google, or even with a Google I’m Feeling Lucky search, they just go right to the URL (whether it is spelled right or not). So if your domain is one that might get typed then you might get some traffic. And these guys are doing thousands of these sites. With small volume a custom park page is clearly preferable but if you are building thousands or tens of thousands of parked domains like some of these guys are, then I can see the need for something like this.

I imagine promoting domains that run adsense for domain is just the same as promoting domains running other domain parking services. I’m pretty sure it works because this guy actually made it (using another domain parking service)
