How Can I Attract More Visitors To My Website?

Attracting more people to a website is something that every webmaster wants to figure out. I received an email from a reader of my blog named Patrick, who runs a website titled NikBagTV. He wants my advice on how to attract more traffic to his sports news blog. Here is a copy of the email.

Hey Garry, I read some of the blogs and comments you made to help improve others, and I was wondering if could I get some assistance. My site is called nikbagtv, which is only 1 week old but I already have 103 unique visitors, and averages about 10 dollars a day with adsense.

My niche is to take news stories and dumb them down with a twist of my own humor. Can you help me become more effective with attracting more traffic and more money with adsense…

Thanks
Patrick

Patrick’s site is unique becuase he takes sports news and adds his own fictional twist to real stories. The problem is that he wants to generate even more traffic to his site so that it can make him more money.

With a sports related blog, scoring more traffic to it can be easy if you know how to find the flow of traffic. In a situation like this, I would recommend staying glued to Google Hot Trends and keeping an eye out for sports related news stories that have gone hot or are on the verge of going hot.

Basically, if you follow Hot Trends, produce quality content based off the stories that are hot, and assuming that your new site content can get indexed quickly, you can receive tons of traffic to your site in a matter of a few hours. The key is writing content that targets the keywords that people are searching to find the hot stories found in Google Hot Trends.

That was a very good Advice Garry. Credits where they are due.

    $10 a day my ass…..with only 100 unique visitors?

Not to mention the layout of the site and the horrendous spelling. If you even get people to the site they are going to leave because they can’t even find what to do.

Well… I give people the benefit of the doubt. So like I said in the video, I have to assume this is true… but if that is the case, then I’d like for Patrick to teach me something. ;)

  3. I’ve never in my life heard of someone who starts out making 10 bucks a day. If he is managing to pull something like that off people will be lining up for his advice.

As for getting people to visit your website….. I recommend participating in conversations throughout the internet related to your blog whether it be through social networking, commenting on blogs, or participating in forums.

  4. THANKS GARRY>>>>

My layout and spelling is on purpose. This site main objective is to dumb down media. Plus I got a good marketing sheme that will double that 10 bucks to 20 in about 2 weeks, and in two months I plan on making at least 100 dollars day.Watch me. My plan is to create a cult following of people that will do what I say, and its going good. I tell people to go on my site and support my advertisers. Then they tell people to go on my site and support my advertisers. It’s called word of mouth and a word yall need to put in your vocabulary..”GOING HARD”..Thats what I do, I go hard and direct people what to do and how to veiw and use my website.

Errr… ok, let me know how that works for you. You might end up getting banned. So at least the cat is out of the bag and we all NOW know how you make $10 off 103 unique visits. And that is because you are having your friends click your ads. I am sure that AdWord Advertisers appreciate that a lot. I am also sure that AdSense monetizers appreciate that as well when people like you cause AdWords advertisers to bid lower, thus paying people like ME much lower per click because of people like YOU. You should really considering doing things the right way. But, anyway… that’s just my opinion. I make 10k a month, so what do I know, right? lol

  5. Thanks Gary…I just the video That was cool..I’m going to tell everybody obout you website and I’m gonna use your advice, NOW!!!!

oh the website is pronounced (nick-bag-tv).

..sports is part of my site but not the major part…My site is centered around comedy that is inspired by hip-hop..
..And I wrote it worng..I have 110 unique visitor now, but i get like 88 visitors per day so far
but I still make like 10 dollars a day. I just got accepted by adsense on the 18th of this month and today is the 21st, and my account for the month is 45.33 cents…thats 45 dollars in 3 days…

But again THANKS for the REply

I’m going to refrain from commenting on his blog and or earnings but to follow up on what Garry said about Google Trends, you may want to also setup some Google Alerts to let you know when news is breaking about specific sports or athletes. You should probably subscribe to some RSS feeds too because those will help generate plenty of content ideas as well. Another idea is to use twitter search. You can enter your topic to search for and then subscribe to the RSS feed for that result.

I’m kinda struggling with this too, but my case is a bit different. Our blog is not intended as a profit-generating venture – there are no sidebar ads, widgets, or any real monetization efforts at all. And it’s kind of an “anything goes” personal blog with some common themes, but no hard & fast “niche.” Nonetheless, it’s a bit pointless & frustrating to be a blogger without an audience. So, I’d also like to attract more visitors to my site – and hopefully convert some of those to return readers or subscribers. Any advice on drawing a bit more attention to my site? My stats fluctuate and I’ve seen a few spikes, but the numbers show little appreciable growth.
