How To Copy and Paste with The iPhone?
If you are like me, then you’re curious to discover how to copy and paste using your iPhone. I just purchased my Apple iPhone a few days ago and I am extremely happy with it. However, over time I am starting to see certain things that the iPhone can’t do. One of which is copy and paste text or web addresses. To me that seems very silly. My Blackberry Curve had the ability to copy and paste, so in my opinion, it seems very strange that Apple didn’t consider including this option when they developed the iPhone.
Anyway, if you are looking to use the copy and paste feature with your iPhone, the great news is that Apple will be including this feature in their next software update, iPhone OS version 3.0. The software will be released a little later this year. To learn more about it you can visit the Apple iPhone OS preview page.
With that said, if you are really eager to get the copy and paste option going prior to the software update, there is an alternative available. It is an Apple application called PasteBud. I checked out the site this morning and also read a few reviews about it and decided against installing it. One of the main reasons that made me skeptical was after reading a review about some problems with PasteBud. To me, it seems very risky to have my information copied onto a public server and then pasted to it’s final destination.
If you know of some better “Copy and Paste” solutions, you’re more than welcome to share your thoughts in the comments below. I would actually love to read them, becuase I don’t want to wait until the next iPhone software update.

Yes, that lack of a copy/paste functionality irked me too! Thank you for the heads up about the software coming out, I look forward to it. I also look forward to getting the 3G network up here in Alaska hopefully by June…is what they’re saying…heck, I should be happy to have cell service up here, there are so many villages here that don’t have cable or internet…..it’s a whole different world…
OMG you finally got an iPhone! It’s about time! Recommend SenseApp for AdSense stats and Koi Pond for fun
Thanks for the post. You are really in time. I bought a new iPhone some days ago but cant understand anything. I use Internet very often and your article is a great help for me. Your advices are in the nick of time. Now it is more easy for me to dea with it.
I know exactly how frustrating the lack of copy / paste can be. I’ve downloaded PDA / browser / editing software for my NDS and for some reason there’s no copy / paste.
