How To Create Your Own Local Small Town Affiliate Network

Have you ever wanted to create your own affiliate network locally within a small town? In this article I will give you some ideas on how this can be done. A few days ago in a blog comment, a reader had asked me a question that triggered me to write this post. While I don’t know if this post will completely address and answer his question, I do know that it will trigger so of your own ideas on how you can apply your online affiliate marketing skills and put it into practice towards earning money locally within your hometown. Here is a copy of the question that was asked:

Hi Garry…my question evolves around tying affiliate marketing models into a new type of business model for local markets. I want to build a business around the ideas and methods of Internet Marketing but develop a new system that creates new opportunities on a smaller scale in my local market area. The medium for small towns or suburban areas is still old school news print and yellow page crap. Small biz owners are screaming for a system and I want to create something with new excitement and opportunity. What are your thoughts?

When I read this question, I immediately thought about the work I have been doing locally as a web designer in Clarksville Tennessee and how much my business is run and depends on basically affiliate marketing strategies. My local web design business is a very simple operation and it yields quite a bit of profit for me with a minimal amount of time invested. This is something anyone can do, assuming that you have an edge on being able to provide these types of services to customers within your home town.

Basically, I provide very economical web design services. This is a niche I push more so than doing advanced web design work. I provide value web design services for customers and the work performed typically takes only a few hours to complete. I offer various bare bone specials, such as a web design / blog design for $150 dollars.

The affiliate marketing kicks in when I tell friends and family about my business and offer to pay them a sales commission on successful referrals. In most cases I pay $75 dollars per sale. I have special business cards that I give out to my friends and family and they keep the cards with them and pass them out to qualified leads knowing that there is an incentive to earn money if I am successful with converting the lead into a sale.

How can I afford to pay my affiliates (family and friends) $75 dollars per referral? Simple. Each customer that they send to me earns me $75 dollars for the web design work and secondly, HostGator.com pays me an additional $125 dollars in 90 days. So you see, my few hours of simple web design work earns me a total of $200 dollars.

Nice one Garry. Local, niche, offline marketing. It doesn’t get much better than that.

  2. Garry, that was some fantastic info.

I’ve contemplated trying some local marketing stuff, but another person is already trying it, and I really don’t want to hurt their business. I’ll keep it in mind though.

BTW, are you going to get back and answer the questions we all left for you on your latest ask Garry post?

Having connected with other business owners we actually do design work for free with embedded link that promotes the local business and our website at the same time increasing our passive income.

Consider adding this with your idea and maybe we may develop better results.

    Thanks again Gary.
