How To Make Money Online Using Squidoo
Here is a guest post written by Jennifer from PotPieGirl.com. It explains how you can make money online using Squidoo. Back in August of 2008, I wrote a post showing you how you can easily make money online using HubPages.com. I think Squidoo is the better option. As you know, I build hundreds of niche web sites; however, I understand that many people can’t afford to spend thousands of dollars on domain names.
That is where Squidoo kicks in. Using Squidoo is totally free and actually has some amazing pull in the search engines. Jennifer is a really cool gal I met on Twitter. She is a stay at home mom and making a ton of cash. Her journey of making money online started with her barely even knowing how to use a computer. Enjoy the post, Jennifer knows her stuff! First off, I’d like to thank Garry for inviting me here to GarryConn.com. Garry runs such fantastic blogs – both here and at BloggingQuestions.com. He is a true asset to the internet marketing community and I am blessed to have made his acquaintance.
Many people ask me how I got started making money online. I imagine many folks think that I had a ton of tech experience or something, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Almost 2 years ago, I boldly announced to my husband that I was going to learn how to make money online. I’ll admit, it was a pretty humorous statement from someone who was barely adept enough to turn the computer on and send an email, but I was determined.
So began my journey into the world of internet marketing.
I had two problems tho…
1. I had NO idea what I was doing.
2. I had VERY limited resources (ie, no MONEY) to invest into my adventure.
Well, as most of us know, finding information about internet marketing is NO problem. Every Tom, Dick, and Harrietta online is MORE than happy to send you info about their “latest and greatest” way to strike it rich on the internet.
I quickly became over-whelmed…and frustrated…and on the verge of giving up.
The problem with learning internet marketing is not a lack of quality information. Instead, it is the fact that there is too MUCH information. It feels impossible to know where to start, doesn’t it?
One day, I had a “stop the madness” moment and decided to learn about basic keyword research, basic optimization, basic link building, and basic traffic building. I also decided that since I had limited resources, that I would instead need to learn how to be resourceful.
I focused my attention on sites that are free to use, that allow affiliate links, and that weren’t so dog-gone hard to use. One of those sites in particular is Squidoo.com.
Through process and elimination, I learned how to generate real live income from those free pages at Squidoo. I couldn’t believe it! I kept duplicating my process, trying new things and removing ineffective things until it became a simple, daily action plan that I did every day.
After a bit of time, all the parts came together into a whole and money started to come in consistently. It felt like a miracle! And it was all because of this simple little action plan I put together. I was then able to pay the bills AND fund my online business so I could create my own niche sites and have things like website hosting and an auto-responder.
Best part of all – I was no longer overwhelmed and frustrated… and THAT is PRICELESS!
My daily action plan was a bunch of notes and scratch pads scribbles – but this past spring, by request, I took all those notes and put them together into what is now called the One Week Marketing Action Plan.
What is so funny to me is that I thought I was putting this together for a few of my PotPieGirl.com readers and it turned out to be a plan of action that hundreds of people are using to finally get income coming in from their computer.
Hearing from these people who are getting their first Clickbank checks and affiliate commissions all because of my mass of sticky-notes has been AWESOME!

I keep hearing how wonderful Squidoo is for getting backlinks & traffic to your site. Well I built a lens back in the summer & haven’t see any benefit to it at all. I’m guessing there’s a piece to the puzzle that I’m missing like maybe you have to have multiple lens, or constantly update your lens or be a big shot in the squidoo community or all of the above. I guess if I knew what that missing piece was, I’d go back & put some more effort into it but to me it seemed like a waste of time.

Oh so true the overload of information. Just when you think you have something figured out, you read another blog and all goes out the door. Or at least gets put on the back burner. The thing is once you learn something that is obvious that it works, stick to it till it works for you or you determine otherwise.
I read your blog and follow both of you on twitter where there is a welth of information. Just take what you need at the time, put it to work for you then come back for more.

I am one of your “students”, your plan is so easy to follow. I would encourage those who want to make money using squidoo and through affiliate should buy her one week marketing guide. Jen. I will promote it, I wonder though does it have an affiliate program?
The products that you recommeded, I usually buy if I don’t have one yet.
Your story has always inspired me, starting with no expense and make truck loads of money. Totally different from me. I spent alot on courses and softwares which I justify as requirements. Hopefully I will be where i want to be… better be soon..

Just wanted to let you know, that Jennifer has been in constant touch with me after having purchased the eBook. She even helped me find keywords. I never expected any help or replies but was shocked when she did reply. I made sure a couple of time, it was her before it struck me that it was Jennifer.
She helped me so much, that I dont know what to say. Her eBook is so very cheap, she also replies to emails. I have bought so many other ebooks for 97$ and 197$, no help, no contact, I couldn’t make any money or progress because there was no one to bounce ideas off. Even if you have an ebook, you need someone to guide you. It is so confusing at times. She literally held my hand. I am totally impressed and would like to then her personally for sharing this secret with me.

I have thought about utilizing Squidoo in the past but had so many other projects (i.e. ‘overload’) going on that I never pursued it as a marketing avenue. This post has re-awakened those thoughts, and I’ll be purchasing Jennifer’s plan today.

I wish I could say I’d had success with squidoo – for me, it was just another giant suckhole of time. I’m sure it works but like anything else on the internet, after it’s up, it’s got to be promoted. I did enjoy your article.
Jennifer, excellent post and it’s nice to see another person took the jump into earning a living working online. Most people are afraid to take the plunge and even more afraid to tell someone “Hey, I’m going to starting making my money online”. It’s like learning to swim, after that initial jump it gets easier and easier the more you do it.
