I've tried to concentrate on a single revenue source while starting up my blog and it has made a considerable difference. Obviously the primary goal of any new blog or site should be traffic generation and monetization secondly in my opinion, but if you want to monetize while building traffic, concentrate on one program only. Just removing every source except one isn't actually going to help you earn more money if you weren't have any success to begin with.
