I Want To Read Your Blog, Tell Me About It…
I was chatting with a friend online tonight and we were looking back on some older posts on his blog and even mine too, basically reflecting on the number of mutual friends we have made in the past that have just seemed to disappeard from the blogosphere. These are all old faces that we both forgot about until we saw them in the comments.
I can kind of understand this… as time goes by a lot of people get into blogging, but then after short periods of time they can get bored with it. A true blogger is one that honestly can’t go a day without thinking about their blog. Bloggers are a rare breed which seems to be progressively growing. While there indeed are some 100 million blogs now, you have to consider the number of these blogs don’t reflect the amount of TRUE bloggers.
For me, I am probably one of the most obsessive bloggers you might come to know. I think about my blog all the time. I’ll go about my day and think many times, “Oh man… I need to write a blog about that!!!” There are times, when I say to myself, “Dude, that would be an amazing story to unveil” Heck I am so knee deep into blogging, I have even figured out how to do it using my mobile phone.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I am going to restructure myself a little bit. One thing that I can honeslty admit, is that I don’t invest much time (if any) towards reading other blogs. Yes, I subscibe to a bunch of them in Google Reader. Yes, I do read blog posts from time to time.. bu usually it is only because the post title caught my eye. In other words, I can honestly say that I don’t do my share as a blogger by way of contributing on other blogs. I need to… and it’s something that I want to fix.
So with that said, as you are reading this post, take a moment to drop me a comment and tell me about your blog. You obviously read my blog, so I’d like to take a moment to read yours.I have been spending a little bit of time over at Yahoo! and I really like their new My Yahoo! Personalized page. I have created a new Yahoo! screen name and at the moment, I have a BLANK personalized page.
What I would like to do, is fill that personalized page up with about 25 RSS feeds from blogs just like yours. So, if you want a blog reader, let me know about your blog in the comments. If it is something that I think will interest me, I’ll subscribe to it by adding it to my all new My Yahoo! Personalized page.
M
As you can see from the screen shot above, my personalized page is totally blank. Drop me a comment and tell me about your blog and also old friend, new friends, daily contents, etc… don’t automatically assume that I’ll add you… regular readers need to let me know about their blogs too. (hint… Mark Mason, Mark Sierra, Christine Senter, David Cooley)
The reason I am doing this, is because once a week, I am going to log into this page and read. I am going to take part of one of my days, probably Sunday and use it to simply enjoy reading other people’s blogs.
Rather than try to fix my Google Reader, I’d rather just start over from scratch. So, if you have a blog and you want me to read it, I’d advice that you leave me a comment below and tell me about it. Also too, this is a great way to share your blog with other people who read my comments.
Why Should I Read Your F&%king Blog???
They say the title of a blog post is the part that captures the most attention, and so I wanted to make sure that this title captured yours. Things are getting totally back on track in my life and ironically part of that included getting Google Reader cleaned out and...Time To Do Some Google Reader Maintenance
For all my new blogging readers, I wanted to take a moment to tell you about Google Reader. I can’t assume that everyone knows about Google Reader, so I wanted to take a brief moment to tell you about it if you don’t already know about it. Google reader is...Do You Feel Stupid or Inferior After Reading My Blog?
I had a really great conversation with a good friend of mine who is also a regular reader of my blog. We talked about a lot of things but one of the topics that came up was the articles that I write on my blog. I explained to her that...How Do You Get Traffic To Your Blog
I am curious to discover how you get traffic to your blog. I know the things I do to get traffic , so I wanted to open up a discussion to the readers here on the site. I want to invite you to share your thoughts on some of the things that...The Power of One Blog Reader
A lot of new bloggers feel like their blog totally sucks because it gets a relatively low amount of traffic and the posts receive little to no comments. While this might not be good, its really not all that bad either. With over 110 million blogs in the wonderful world...

It is surprising yet understandable at the same time that bloggers come and go. Just like people you meet offline, really.
My Google Reader is some what of a monster at times. Sometimes I just “mark all as read” because I know it’s impossible to make sense of all the content that it has stored. I’d rather know I have a manageable list to go through than to attempt to skim through the titles.
But since you’re asking, old buddy, old pal, I could use another number in my Feedburner chicklet.

Well I would have to tell you to read my blog but I just saw you over there earlier today so I know that you were snooping around.
Plus I think I comment on here enough that you pretty much hear from me at least once a day
While my blog is mostly to chronicle my journey in making money online (it isn’t a MMO blog) I do post some other stuff as well. Blog tips and what not, basically whatever is relevant to me at that point in the day.

What is your feed URL? I noticed that the auto discovery addy is this:
http://jarretcade.net/feed
and then in the sidebar you have a feedburner url that doesn’t seem to be working.
In the mean time, I have added this: http://jarretcade.net/feed
let me know if you want that to be changed to a different url.

Garry,
This is a great idea and made made realize I don’t spend enough time reading and commenting on other people’s blogs either. Just not enough time most days.
My blog exists to help people going through foreclosure. My hope is there’s enough info there to provide the motivation and knowledge for someone in foreclosure to contact their bank and begin the process of saving their own home.

I blog about media at http://mitchellblatt.com/blog. I’m a college student majoring in journalism. Due to the nature of this election season, most of the posts are about political media, bias, news coverage, etc. I have recent posts about internet marketing, journalism school, music (I’m a music critic), etc.
Here’s my latest post on internet marketing on how I got 9,000 hits in 5 hours: http://mitchellblatt.com/blog/2008/09/the-instapundit-effect

Hey Garry,
I use a Feed Reader for historical reading, things I missed during the week. On a daily basis I use iGoogle home page setup like this to keep up with everything. Between that and email alerts I have found I can keep up a lot better.
The best feed to keep up with me is my FriendFeed

Hey Garry, I have 2 blogs that might interest you.
JobMob at http://jobmob.co.il/ is my first blog, going strong. The goal is to help people find jobs with great advice and some humor, since I still haven’t met anyone that really enjoys job hunting.
Group Writing Projects at http://groupwritingprojects.com/ is my blog dedicated to – you guessed it – group writing projects. Running for almost 7 months, it’s still the only blog on the topic (in English, at least). When was the last time you ran or participated in a group writing project?

Best way to follow me is on FriendFeed, it has all my blogs, Twitter etc…
David Cooley – FriendFeed
I do not use a Feed Reader as much as I did. I setup an iGoogle page to monitor everything, makes it a lost easier to keep up. I catch up what is left on Sat morning with a cup of coffee, lol.

The above one is making some dough so that is good. The Feed is actually at http://www.bank-cd-rates.net/feed/feed.xml since somewhere along the lines I broke the code and just haven’t fixed it.
However, it isn’t designed for MMO tips. I have some other projects (hint, hint) before I can get there.

This is great post and idea. Giving people the opportunity to get their blog recognized.
My blog looks at the world and weightlifting and fat burning. Especially in today’s world of diet, diet, diet. I want to give real world advice that will actually make sense to the reader so they can get motivated to start their own program.
This would be good for those bloggers who need the motivation to get away from the computer . Kidding – Kind of
