JohnCow dot Com Is Bringing A Stampede of Pain

with 11 comments

I am not dumb or in denial of some hard swallowed facts that I just discovered on John Cow dot Com’s most recent post.

“JohnCow has been doing this very thing for a while now and is making a good living at it… enough to have a good size staff working fulltime in our office for us. We are not saying this to brag but on the contrary, to make sure you do not miss this opportunity to get first hand knowledge of how to step through the process of planning, researching, building and marketing a profitable blog, the exact way we do it for ourselves.”

In any venture or project it is obvious that having multiple people working together will get better and quicker results. While in this contest, I am working on not only taking the win, I am also doing so in a way that involves the volunteer assistance of people in my make money online class. While that has been working very well for everyone in my group, logically the odds are against me in winning.

cow-vs-conn

In the last 72 hours John Cow dot Com and his newly exposed company of fulltime staff members have been able to swarm many businesses in successfully landing some really amazing prizes and gifts to be used for in his strategy towards beating me in this competition. But here is what I have to say about that.

The root of this competition doesn’t evolve around how many gifts and freebies you can give away. It doesn’t really matter how many people you have working for you – paid help or volunteer. What matters in this competition is in selling the niche blog successfully on SitePoint.com.

In this competition, while it is very much obvious that I am going against an entire team of highly trained and skilled people and not going against some amateur surfer guy who travels the world, I am still optimistic for the fact that it really doesn’t matter how many people the owner of John Cow dot Com may have working for him. At the end when it comes down to selling the niche blog, I’ll take the win.

For me… win lose or draw, this is a very excellent opportunity to engage in, even more now that I know my rival in this competition is not who I thought it was but rather an entire company of trained individuals.

If you haven’t already joined my class, I would strongly recommend doing so as for the fact that I am really cracking down now upon the discovery of the new competition I am up against.

Can Garry Conn, an individual professional blogger and Internet and search engine marketer, take on an entire company?

Stay tuned and find out soon and take a free seat in my make money online classroom! :)

  1. Hhhhmmmmm, does the story of David and Goliath ring a bell my friend?

  2. Bwa hahahaha

See the original plan was just us against you… nothing else. Then the volunteers thing poked its head. Well we talked on the phone and you knew we wanted a us against you only but thats not what you wanted… so now we are bringing in our resources.

As for using these tools to win… oh no… even though we do use some of them and will show people how we use them in the training… this is just making it fun for my readers… because this is not about me using others to do our work for us but about us showing others how to do it.

These give aways have nothing to do with the site or niche and we are building, in fact they have nothing to do with the cowpetition between you and us at all other then it is a chance to show our readers some real value. We are not going to ask for one single thing from the people who sign up… other then to show up and be ready to learn.

See we are not doing this for us… thats why we are giving the money away… We know this will help get John Cow more exposrue… but there are other easier wasy to do that. We are doing the training and webinars to show others how to do it.

    Thats our goal :)

Infact Garry, you really should listen in on what we are going to be sharing… you we start making some goos money :)

So yes, the story of David and Goliath does sound familiar… but it is us… the one John Cow against You and 500 of your reader… but you see we are David :)

  3. Oh and one more thing… we use spell check when we do our training… so excuse our spelling in the above comment… we have got to learn how to type without staring at the keyword… sheesh :)

  5. Luckily the prizes and new subscribers are not going to be what wins the comp, as Garry said.

Mr Cow, by using “staff” I immediately think that it makes whatever Niche site you are going to produce a far less valid lesson for us bloggers. I am a one man band, I will follow your class but know that in reality I will never be able to reproduce whatever success you get by my lone self.

Garry is pooling readers help in exchange for valid help and links back to them. A writing competition with the final goal being publication and wide audience exposure is hardly cheating or employing readers. Many people run such things on a daily basis. In fact Mr Cow the range of activities that you have set out to join your competition is probably going to take just as long as writing a 500 word post about getting out of debt. Hell most of us could write a 100 words from experience in less than 2 minutes. So another thoughtful 400 is nothing to get all upset about.

So Garry is exchanging back links, exposure and genuine personal one on one help for 500 words. That’s cheap by any standards!

You Mr Cow are exchanging money (I would assume) for services from your employees. In fact I would be extremely interested in seeing how much money you pay to make this blog and if there is actually going to be any profit at all!

I have no idea how much your professional team gets but put I would guess something like this:
4 weeks, 2 staff working 10 hours a week for $40 an hour. That is already $3200 spent before any other costs such as PPC ads.

So I guess what I am asking Mr Cow is how much PROFIT are you really going to make?

Garry is not paying his readers and I think he will be using software that is within the price range of most of us.

I will be following both lessons but believe that the site made by Garry, even if it sells for less, will be much more profitable in the sale. Also the information provided by Garry will be much more profitable to me personally as I am seriously trying to learn how to monetize my own niche sites.

Ok that’s 381 words above. Most people are willing to leave a comment like this on a blog, so 500 words for a comp is nothing. STOP MOANING COW AND PLAY FAIR!!!

The prizes you are offering are great…. why not use them to acquire content instead of paying staff and effectively making your project profit free, unless you pull of some amazing feat.

Let’s just hope that the final niche sites are purchased by a genuine business man and not someones fan just wasting their money. I want to see the true value of 30 days work.

Oh and Mr Cow, it does not mean I hate you or am trying to piss in your corn flakes or anything so don’t get all defensive. I like you new site. I genuingly believ it is a great addition to the MMO and I want you to teach me in this comp. NOT show me what I could acheive if I ever reached your dazzling heights as a man / woman overseeing (NUMBER DELETED DUE TO COW BEING SCARED WE WILL FIND OUT WHO HE IS) members of staff.

Wow a rant :) I feel better now, keep up the good work guys!!

  7. Forest, who the heck is moaning… you are totally not seeing the picture here at all. What is happening, like it or not, is you already have made your opinion of what we are doing, without even reading “to understand” my post.

What makes me laugh is when you thought i had no resources you were defensive about that and now you find out I have resources you are defensive about that.

I have a better idea forest (with one r), how about you hold your opinion of what i am going to show people until after it is done :)

    okie dokie

PS – thanks for saying we will be a good addition to the MMO… i appreciate that.

  8. Garry, why are you lying and saying that subscriber participation is voluntary? That is a lie? I wonder if you are going to dump all the people who don’t fork over articles over for you? You rake John Chow over the coals to get noticed, now you are turning into him. What does that make you Garry? I’ll let you answer that.

  9. Are you scared now Garry?

  10. Antonio, participation is very much voluntary. I have opted out for various reasons none of which have anything to do with having to subscribe or feeling left off. Garry for a one person operation is kicking butt. You really need to give him props for that. If you have really followed Garry at all you would know he is “The real deal” Nothing pretend here. So you really need to go another direction to criticize Mr. Conn. I’m justa saying!
