Make Money Online By Finding Partners In Your Venture
My readership is packed full of talent. I know this more than ever after investing many hours last night speaking with many of my students in my make money online class. One huge problem I faced when first getting started in this business of making money online was the fact that I felt like I could do it all by myself. I felt like I didn’t need help from others and I felt like I could handle all the elements in creating a money making machine by myself without bringing in people who obviously had greater skills than me in varying elements.
Here are my observations of my readership. I have readers who are very skilled in web design but suck at writing. I have readers who are very skilled in writing but suck at marketing and promoting. I have readers who are very skilled in programming but aren’t very sociable or personable. All these great qualities in people are amazing. On the other hand, everyone has weaknesses or characteristics that aren’t up to par compared to others. All in all, no one is perfect and its rare to find an individual who is well rounded in having an expert level of experience in all the elements needed towards creating a money making machine on the Internet.
I have mentioned this many times in the past. However, since I do have quite a few new readers within the last few months, I want to remind people again of how important it is to network, make friends and discover the strengths as well as the weaknesses in other people you surround yourself in. Overall, this is what I see in my readership. I see hundreds of people who have the same goals, the same motivations and the same drive to achieve winning and finding success in the business of blogging and making money online. However, another very common element I see is that not many people are successful in this attempt to make money online.
The reason being is the fact that you’re not coming to terms with the fact that you can’t do it alone and you can’t do it all by yourself. Believe me, you are not the only one who reads my blog who has the goals and the desires to learn how to make money online and take your piece of the pie that all these other successful guys are doing daily.
My suggestion for you is to bite the bullet and recognize that bad breath is better than no breath at all and come to terms with the fact that you can’t do this by yourself. However, also come to terms knowing that most of everyone else reading this blog are also in the same boat. I believe that it is simply a matter of you investing some time into contacting other people and presenting your thoughts and ideas to them. You would be amazed with the results. You would also be amazed to discover how much the other person you contact would appreciate you for making an attempt to establish a connection with them.
People are desperate in this business and everyone wants the same freaking thing… yet, everyone wants to fly solo and not seek the help from others. If people in this niche could simply learn to take their guard down and remove the protective walls that surround their ideas and thoughts, then collaborating with others will become so much easier.
What can you bring to the table in a MMO project? Are you a graphic designer but don’t have a clue about search engines? Well, everyone knows that a killer looking blog will go far in the niche. But also, everyone knows that a blog dead in the water with no traffic isn’t good either. A graphic designer can easily pair up with an SEO and together they can make a very successful business.
Do you see where I am coming from yet? You’re not going to win in this business if you keep things to yourself. You’re not going to win if you keep spinning your wheels in the mud. You need someone to help you with a good push out of the mud, preferably someone who is also stuck in the mud works well. Finding a mutual partner in this business is very comforting. Two heads are so much better than one. Three heads are better than two. The more people that you can find in starting a make money online venture the better.
What are your thoughts? Drop me a comment and let me know more about how you feel about finding partners in the business. Do you think tag teaming in an online venture is for the birds? Or do you feel like it could help you? Speak your mind.

So very true Garry, you write in such an inspirational way that your words, I believe, can really make a difference for people. I was reading this post of yours just after a meeting with a good, old friend of mine who is also a great graphic designer. We were just talking about the same things that you have described in your post. I would certainly agree about the fact that is impossible to succeed alone, not only in MMO niche but in any other field as well. Thanks for the amazing post, your optimism and work ethics are really motivating and sometimes even contagious.
What an awesome comment. Isn’t that surreal that you just met up with an old friend where between the two of you can work together to create something really cool? Thank you for your compliments about my writing that is very appreciated.
I have to agree with this post whole heartedly. I wouldn’t be in where I am today, if it wasn’t for the kindness of others. When you can find a few other people out there who are willing to collaborate on certain projects, it makes the work easier and lot more fun.
Especially if you have Christine working with you.
Aww, shucks. LOL
I totally agree Garry, I wouldn’t be doing what I am doing now if it wasn’t for the help of some friends.
It’s also amazing the new friends you can gain on the way, even if you never actually meet them or know them face to face.
As I said yesterday, feel free to gTalk me anytime if you need an extra eye to look over anything or need any php/mysql/jquery help.
Great post Garry! Couldn’t agree with you more.
I can definitely relate to the whole partnership deal. I can code a website and lay it out just perfectly, but I am at a lost when it comes to the graphics part.
And although I am slowly learning more and more as I go along, it is definitely worth finding others in a certain area of expertise and asking them for help. A lot of people are actually willing to help once you do ask them. And those that won’t help, dont matter.
That above comment will cost you $20 bucks.
I don’t do paid reviews thru ReviewMe.com but I do BlowSmokeUpAss.com Comment reviews.
LOL!!!
You are one to know your stuff too… I really love what you have done with your Ireland property site. PPL should check his site out, its really cool.
I met Dave on John Cow actually, go figure.
Cheers Garry,
PropertyIreland was one of my first sites & earns a fantastic bit of passive income, thats why I use that email address.
I have many other sites that are way cooler & one of these days PropertyIreland will be updated to be one of the best property sites online…
Wasn’t planning on plugging the site here, but if any of your readers do want to list/search for a property, http://international.propertyireland.net is probably their best bet…
I’m with Jarret on the post below, can code a site in no time, use the best of the latest technologies but am not a graphic artist, so thankfully I have met a few good graphic artists over the years online that do some nice work for me & I provide my services in return.
Good karma tends to return good karma more often than not, so well worth the time & investment…
Garry, your comment ‘You are one to know your stuff too…’ brings up a good idea for a post from you…
While PropertyIreland is one of my most profitable sites, I made at least 2 massive errors with the site & lots of smaller ones over the years…it has been online since 2001 & the first major mistake I made was using a .net domain.
I should have gone for a more generic domain name & a .com.
I seriously think the .net has put off some local & international advertisers.
I do get many new international advertisers signing up daily, but if the propertyireland bit wasn’t in the domain name, I’m sure I’d get many more.
The second mistake mistake was a lot more recent, last December I started to think about the .net issue so registered a few new .com domain names, I got them setup & only advertising properties with the country name in the domain but using propertyireland as the backend database, but then the google PR slap came and stripped all my PR from propertyireland, i presume because of duplicate content…
This hasn’t resulted in much of a drop in traffic or earnings on the site but it does annoy me to now have a google PR of 0.
This month I removed those extra .com domains & just redirected them back to their relevant country on the international section, so waiting now to see if the google pr returns to what it once was, could be a long wait…
Sorry for going off topic, just thought your thoughts on this subject maybe a good read on a new post for your readers…
PropertyIreland was initially setup in 2001 just to sell my own house & was set up out of frustration I had from the local estate agents, but that is another long story…since then it has grown into one of the best beasts I have ever started…
Sounds like to me that there may be more programmers here than graphic designers.
And very good at them, I might add.
Hey, you gotta be good at something in life.
Hey there, Christine,
Isn’t that the truth!? When I first started blogging, I kept to myself and was suspicious of others. I figured I could lurk forever and learn it all on my own.
Yeah right!
In order to get most anywhere these days, online or off, you need help along the way. Whether you’re giving or receiving words of encouragement, asking for help with promotions/coding/graphics/writing, or whatever, it ultimately pays you back and propels you forward.
I’m Mark Sierra and I approve this message!
Okay you two, get a room.
Hi David, kudos to you for sticking in there despite your setbacks. It’s so easy to just give up at the first failure especially when you consider things online. It gives so much promise to so many people and they think it’s so easy. But we know that’s not true. It takes a thick skin and perseverance (that means “determination” Garry
) to eventually carve your niche out of the online world.
Very inspiring!
Will have to work on my networking skills.. thanks for the heads-up Gary. oh by the way, please check ur post .. [wants to fly sola ] you mean solo right?
Ha! Well, you work on your networking skills and I’ll work on my spelling skills.
Oh, wait… this isn’t a spelling error, well it is, I should have capitalized Sola!
LOL!!! All kidding aside, thanks for pointing that out and I’ll be getting that fixed right away.
If you think that one is bad, hook up with Christine as I m sure she will tell you some horror stories about me.
I’m definitely agreeing with you on all fronts. When I first started blogging I read and read and read, it did nothing for me apart from flood my brain with ideas that I could be a millionaire!
I still read and read and read but all talk equally. The talking and networking and genuine help each other out attitude is great.
Eventually this is leading to mutual helping and I guess in the end I will end up partnering.
I have bee a graphic designer for 10 years working with top clients but barely touched the web…. it really is different and it’s only through networking and exchanging info with others that I am beginning to realize the potential of my skils in this online world.
I’m going to be going to my local library today to try and start a weekly class to teach local people about blogging and this is the exact kind of article that I want to give to people to motivate them and realize their potential.
It seems that you do quite a bit of volunteer work for your local community. We were chatting the other day and you had mentioned also that you were headed out in a few hours to do something volunteer. I can’t remember what it was though. Is this weekly class at the library also volunteer?
Oh the other day was a lecture…. this library class is just an idea but it will be a volunteer thing.
I think a lot of people cold benefit from blogging and it would also mean that if anyone wanted to get into blogging for business use that I could maybe mentor them and maybe get paid.
But I am not doing it with the final thought of earning money. Just want to help out a little and see if I am any good at it.
I agree totally!!! There is sooooooooooo much I CAN’T DO, I need to surround myself with good people, talented people, and honest people. I don’t know what it is, maybe in the beginning we read so much marketing crap….we get it in our head that our story will be that much more “valuable” if we make it happen on our own. Sheesh….
I have no problem letting everyone know about those who help me….I couldn’t get to where I am ( where is that anyway? lol) or where I want to be, without help from others.
