Make Money Online by Listening

Garry Conn is away, so the CyberCoder will play. Big thanks to Garry for asking me to Guest Post !

Do you spend most of your time writing and commenting and trying to find a better way to Make Money Online?

This is probably what 90% of the people trying to make money online are doing, and one great reason to learn another way.

I have been working with Garry for well over a year now. One thing that we know is that we have different skill sets and that we do not typically do things the same way, and one thing we have probably learned more from each other is how to listen, especially when we do not agree on something. And this listening has turned into some killer stuff.

The same thing is true for finding that Niche. Listening can be a great Niche and keyword finding tool!

I have 2 teenagers and I can not tell you how many times I have found a great niche just by listening to them.

Here is on great example: Earrings

My daughters have more earrings than shoes, and nowadays everyone has earrings, and nose rings, and lip rings and…..you get the picture….

Look at Earrings as keywords.

One of the keys to listening for ideas is to not just listen to other bloggers, but people in general, they are the ones who drive the consumer traffic that spends the money !!

And here is one more way to listen, check out all the talk about Earrings on Twitter !

Thanks again to Garry for letting me guest post !

Another advantage to this keyword is that it fits nicely if you want to do Affiliate stuff like Amazon, or eBay !

Hi Hussein,

We met on Twitter. Did you happen to take a look at the Twitter search results. That is nuts, I can’t believe how many people are talking about earrings on Twitter. If someone got their existing blog about “whatever” banned from Google… oh ok, no problem, I’ll just start a blog about earrings and join Twitter. LOL!!!

Hugo,

People talk about trademark a lot on my blog. I am a little bit of risk taker as many already know. There has been a couple of times when this come back to bite me. The worst that happen to me is that my site had to be shut down and the domain name given to the company.

Excellent article David…. ok, I am going back to painting my house. :(

Everyone, snag a copy of David’s RSS feed, http://feeds.feedburner.com/Cybercoded , some pretty cool stuff inside.

Hugo, that’s probably not a great idea. If they find out you’re using their name in your url you are probably going to lose the site. Probably won’t happen unless you rank really high….but that’s the goal, isn’t it?

Even if they do snag your domain, you can make quite a bit of profit before they do & it’s usually only after you have made your profit that they notice you in the first place.

Is this supposed to be humor?

I noticed your URL is all about a name brand, with the name brand in the URL.

That Frontline site is pretty cool though, but indeed that is a trademark name for sure.

it is cool indeed.

Morning Dave and G.
I can personally attest that having kids is like having Micro Niche Finder on the hoof. My girlfriend says I exploit our kid !!! Well that maybe true, but its crazy how market programmed kids are.
Just try shutting up and stop being a parent for like 30 mins and listen to what kids are into, make some notes go open up Microniche finder and your eye balls will pop out of your head, then your wallet gets fat, then your girlfriend spend the money on trips to the spa and then the cycle starts all over again. I was thinking about paying my kid for ideas. You know buy him a new hockey stick or something for the next batch of ideas he spits out of his mouth.
I dont have it in front of me but they play this game at school and its all the rage right now. Im sure I’ll get this wrong but I think its called peekachoos or something like that. Its still early in canada right now and Im on only 1 cup of coffee. Maybe I’ll dig it up at some point, I saved it in a note pad file, and post it here

Didn’t see the comments about my site until now. Yeah, the advice about the trademark was supposed to be….ironic. That is, I know that its a bad idea to do it, but I just couldn’t resist. By the way, my Frontline site was indexed…..and then deindexed by google within the first few weeks of its life. They really do hate “build a niche store” sites, even if you’ve modified them and added content. Oh well. Thanks for the nice comments, though.

Is it the store they did not like, or the domain name?

I have heard this said about the niche stores a couple times now and I am not sure why that is. I have done my own personal work on things like that without a problem using eBay and Amazon.

I have an eBay page script I have been toying with, if your interested in seeing it, drop me an email or Contact Form at my site. (sorry for the plug on your site Garry, lol)

I think it was the site. I made the mistake of giving google access to the site before it was done. It probably looked to them like a million other “thin” ebay affiliate sites and they squashed it. I put all the other content on the site not knowing it was already deindexed. Whether google saw it as just another thin affiliate site, or whether they have it out for the “build a niche store” script in particular, I’m not sure. I had a back and forth discussion with Mark Hansen at “Niche store bulder” in the comments section of one of his posts. He is beginning to believe that they might have an algorithim that allows them to ID BANS sites very quickly now. Most of us who use that script are now building sites that have wordpress integrated. Seems to be helping. I’ll contact you about your script. Thanks.

I an glad you made me think about this today. I just looked at some stats from yesterday. I have a one POST blog, that also has my eBay script on it.

Yesterday there was a search done where I came up #1 for one of the Items on my eBay page. The interesting thing is this, as I look down the search results, I can see 3 or 4 other pages that are using the build a niche store software.

I think the problem is in the structure of those pages. According to advertising and everything else, all those sites should be at the top for an item like this, not being beat out by a one page script.
