Many years ago I used to sell computers on eBay. One of my best sellers was a custom built pc that I had designed from ground up. Back when I was doing the planning I had selected all very nice parts and used only the highest quality brand name components. Before launch day on eBay I had already built a few and sold them locally just in case if any problems occurred, I would be able to tweak things. I didn’t want to have to deal with a lot of problems after shipping a computer to a customer out of state. My best selling customer computer ended up being very successful and I eventually sold over 50 of them.
While I had a lot of fun doing this, those days are long over, but it is good to see that people are still building custom computers for customers and finding success in doing so. Such is a company I found based in the UK called, Cryo Performance Computing. They operate a business similar to I had, only difference is that they don’t sell directly on eBay and their team consists of people who are far more experts with building computers than I was.
So how do you make money online selling custom built computers just like the pros from Cryo Performance Computing? Well, I have to stay that selling computers online is much easier today than it was for me many years ago. When I sold computers I had to use eBay. While I am not saying that this was a bad choice, it was really my only choice.
Today things are different. For example, you can operate an entire store for free using Paypal buttons. eBay costs money to list your items or inventory; however, with Paypal, you can create payment buttons and assign an inventory amount to each item you want to sell. You can even give customers the option to make multiple item purchases. All of this of course is provided to you for free. Granted, Paypal.com does take their cut when money is transferred, but that only happens when items are sold.
One thing that bothered me about eBay was the fact that they took my money regardless if I sold a computer or not. There were times when I had to use my own resources to drive traffic to my eBay listings when I figured that was why I was paying them.
