Make Money Online Selling Walmart Products
As you know, there are a lot of ways to make money online; however, there may be some ways that might not be as obvious. Did you know that you can make money online selling products sold by Walmart?
Walmart is a one of the most popular retails stores in the United States. Most everyone has a Walmart in their town and pretty much everyone shops or has shopped at a Walmart store.
Walmart is a nationally accepted brand and is a company that millions of people trust to provide them with thousands of high quality products at fairly competitive prices. You can make money online and claim your stake in this revenue by selling Walmart products online.
Walmart offers an affiliate program. If you scroll down to the bottom of Walmart.com, you will see the link titled, “Join Our Affiliate Program.” You can join their affiliate program for free at no cost to you. As an affiliate of Walmart, you have access to their entire database of goods, products and services.
You can make money online simply by selling the different products and services offered by Walmart. They offer hundreds of banners and text link ads that point to various sections of their web site as well as individual products. One thing that I really like about the Walmart affiliate product is their RSS Feeds.
Walmart offers affiliates to syndicate their RSS feeds which contain a tracker code in the URL so that affiliates can get credit for any sales generates. This makes for an ideal situation for WordPress bloggers due to the fact that these RSS feeds can be automatically syndicated on a blog.
Depending on how deep you want to go with the program, you can simply use the WordPress RSS Widget and syndicate title links on your sidebar or you can do things more advanced and actually syndicate the entire RSS content directly on your blog as posts. This can be done very easily using a WordPress Plugin called WP-o-Matic.
WP-o-Matic is a very powerful WordPress plugin that allows you to syndicate full RSS content on a WordPress blog. It includes tools that allow you to customize each post to make them more unique and other options such as having the ability to find and replace words. If you have been the victim of content theft, this is commonly the program that spammers and splog authors use to steal your content.
If used correctly, WP-o-Matic can help you syndicate RSS content from places such as Walmart where it is welcomed to do so. Of course, with plugins such as WP-o-Matic, if put into the wrong hands, no good can come of it.
If you are serious about making an honest effort towards making money online selling Walmart products, I would recommend starting a WordPress blog, using WP-o-Matic, and pick a category of products to promote. I wouldn’t suggest making all your posts promotional ones.
Think about the different topics you can write about and then consider the difference kinds of products being sold at Walmart that compliment the things you write about. I would recommend using the Walmart as only one of many methods towards generating income using your blog.
The Walmart affiliate program is handled by a company called Link Share. Ultimately, if you join Link Share directly, not only will you have access to the Walmart affiliate program, but also you will have access to hundreds of other widely accepted retail stores. Some of these stores include Macy’s, AT&T, CompUSA, McAfee, and Office Depot.

LinkShare also has a WP plugin that allows you to create affiliate links directly from the post page. I have not used it myself so I can’t tell how good it actually works or whether or not it makes things any easier.
Oh and I think to join the Wal-Mart program you have to have a LinkShare account or something along those lines. I believe you have to apply for the partnership from LinkShare and then use the LinkShare ID that you are given to sign up under the Wal-Mart affiliate program.
Anyways, the LinkShare plugin can be found here: LinkShare Affiliate Plugin
As usual Garry, this is a good article. Thanks to you, I became an affiliate with LinkShare a couple of weeks ago. I have heard of WP-O-Matic, I am using a Wordpress plugin called Slick Autoposter. I just got it and hope to start using it to pull in RSS Feeds.
Awesome tips Garry. I plan to start monetizing as soon as I finish a whole mess of updating to my blogs.
I wonder, who would I speak to about the legalities of including a particular company name within a domain name?
Thanks for posting. The joys of promoting such a brand is that the customer is (more often than not) already ‘warm’ to their products and will purchase without to much persuasion.
Thanks for the heads-up on the WP-o-Matic.
Regards,
Karl
While I’m a fan of using affiliate links Wal-Mart is the very last seller I would promote. While many may shop at Wal-Mart they do more than their share of bad things to other businesses, their employees, and the economy. The Wal-Mart philosophy of life is a huge part in reducing wages, eliminating benefits, and focusing on buying cheap at other’’s expense.
I’d love to see more bloggers improve our way of life by promoting quality small businesses who could really benefit from sincere recommendations.
This is a great article. It should give people ideas for earning extra income on the side.
Hi Garry,
I’m not sure Walmart would be a good company to affiliate with as they give you a very low split of the product income. There products, in my opinion are cheap and I’m not sure I’d want my brand affiliated with them. On the other hand, they do have one of the biggest franchises within the United States and Canada, therefore possibly giving you the ability to make more sales.
As for Linkshare: I haven’t checked it out yet. I do like the idea that it connect you with multiple affiliate networks from different companies. I would like to know whether Linkshare sponsors affiliate programs from outside the United States.
For now I think I’ll stick with the Amazon and Hostgator affiliate networks. I have absolutely no complaints (so far) about either of them. Two thumbs up!
I agree! Let’s see if our businesses can promote our freedom from giant corporations rather than just feed them. Walmart has a history of doing everything it can to deny health care benefits to its employees, not pay overtime and crowd out all other businesses in the communities it enters. Rose
