Make Money Online with LivePerson.com

Most of you know that I make money online by building multiple niche blogs that generate a passive income using Google AdSense. Many of these blogs that I build are about topics that I have to invest time into studying or researching prior to building. While this works for me, this kind of work might not be right for you. My skill is in building blogs. Your expertise might be in being a doctor, a carpenter or even a nurse. To learn my trade is much like me investing time into learning your trade.

What if there was a way to make money online by utilizing your own skills and talents that you use in the real world? That would be cool, right? Well, apparently there is an option to do just that. It is called LivePerson.com.

I learned about LivePerson.com earlier today when read a story on TampaBays10.com about a public relations associate, Jamie Parker, who works at Shriners Hospital in Tampa Florida. She found LivePerson.com and currently takes her same expert skills from her day job, applies them online at LivePerson.com, and is making really good money.

I see that something like this could be an excellent opportunity for people who read my blog and struggle to make money online. At LivePerson.com you can register for a free account and then your information is added into their directory.

From there people can connect with you who need advice on a topic that you are listed as an expert in. As a registered expert of LivePerson.com, you charge people by the minute for your advice and LivePerson.com collects around 35% of the fee.

There is nothing wrong with building blogs towards making money online, and there is nothing wrong with learning the trade of being an Internet marketer. However, you have to understand that the process of learning this business can take many years. In the mean time, you need to ask yourself what you can do to generate money while you learn.

I think registering with LivePerson.com as an expert in your niche can help a lot with paying a few bills and giving you some added financial comfort.

Also too, you can earn even more money by joining their affiliate program. You can earn up to $100 dollars for every paying customer you refer to their site. Even if you were to only able to refer just one person a week, that is $400 dollars. I am not sure about you, but I can do a lot with an extra $400 in my pocket.

Be sure to check out LivePerson.com and drop me a comment and share your thoughts. I’d like to hear more success stories such as the one I read today about Jamie Parker.

Dennis,

I have joined their affiliate program but I haven’t joined them as an expert. I do very well with my online business and I don’t think it would be beneficial for me to invest the time into it personally. However, if I was just starting out and needed an income stream, you better believe I would join up. ;)

That makes sense. Although one has to enjoy the phone…a lot of online marketers are where they are because they don’t like the phone lol.

I checked it out a little further and I will join. Although, I am little uneasy about the following two sections of the TOS:

# Expert agrees that any information or content that Expert posts or transmits through LivePerson.com will not be considered Expert’s confidential information, but rather this information, whether personal in nature or not, shall be owned by LivePerson. Expert further agrees and consents to the Expert’s chats or transcripts, being captured in any format, controlled, processed and shared by LivePerson with third parties as designated solely by LivePerson;
# Expert grants LivePerson an unlimited, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, edit, copy, transmit, process, control, publicly perform, and create derivative works communicate to the public or any third party any such information and content on a world-wide basis;

Otherwise it looks like a really cool service.

Hi George,

I can understand having a concern with that. However, the way I feel about that is that you are getting paid to provide your advice. That advice should then become the property of LivePerson.com for future use how they see fit. Also, in ways I think that protects LivePerson.com as well.

Call it double dipping… what if you were to get compensated for your advice and then turn around and re-publish the same content on your own blog? I don’t think that is very fair for LivePerson.com as they are working towards creating a community environment that is unique on the Internet. What are your thoughts about that?

The problem is that the advice I give is probably the same advice I have given on my blog or the same advice I would give other people, so I think I should own that advice. I do understand where they are coming from though.

Yup. As a former college professor I can tell you that my lectures, assignments, exams, etc. – are all mine and NOT the property of my university.

As a consultant, I can tell you that the solutions I sell my clients are my livelihood. My clients do not have license to resell my work. And I frequently re-use my parts of my code.

I was keen to sign up until I read the TOS. But not now.

I dunno if I am sold on this one. I mean, what if the person on the other end doesn’t like your advice? Do they get their money back?

On the other hand, if you are smart, you could run this like paid psychics where you convince the person to call you back multiple times to continue getting more advice…thus more minutes. Hmmm….

It appears that LivePerson.com does have a refund policy.

http://www.liveperson.com/Help/help-answers.aspx?level=2&ID=255

I think it would be in the Expert’s best interest to work hard and provide excellent advice to their customers to prevent refunds.

When I made eyeglasses for a living, my eyeglass store had a refund policy and customers indeed would use this policy if they weren’t happy with their eyeglasses. It was my job as an optician to make sure I correctly fitted customers with eyeglasses so that they could have a comfortable pair of eyeglasses that they could see out of.

If I failed to do that, customers could refund their eyeglasses. I am glad to see that LivePerson.com has a refund policy. It helps assure that customers receive excellent advice from the LivePerson.com Experts.

Greetings Garry,

In the online gaming business we have been using liveperson chat services for years. I suppose in the last two years they had to rethink their revenue streams and it looks like they picked a great idea.

We were always concerned about the ability of liveperson to keep copies of our transcripts with our customers. They claimed none was kept but many of my clients after the online gambling law was past in 2006 chose to get rid of the service for fear that transcripts could be subpoenaed.

Thanks for the blog

Tico

Hi Gary,

How does LivePerson.com compare with http://www.embeddedchat.com?

Looks like LivePerson.com charges $100/mo and EmbeddedChat charges $15/mo.

Any advice?

Thanks,

Pete

I am one to believe that you get what you pay for in life. You can purchase a cheap pair of shoes that only last a month, or pay more and have a pair of shoes that lasts all year.

If you purchase cheap shoes, you spend more during the year than you would have if you just purchased the pair that was higher in quality.

I think that if anyone is serious about getting good advice, they will choose a provider who can deliver.

I’m confused by Pete’s question. Does Liveperson really charge $100 per month? I just registered yesterday and didn’t see anything about that. The only fees I saw were for commission.

I want so bad to start working through the internet. But all these internet companies want you to give up quite a bit of money to begin. Isn’t there an entry level type of beginning? I have the skills that could help many companies, but I just don’t know how to begin. Can someone really help me with the beginning process

I can give you some advice. Why don’t you take a moment to tell me more about your qualities and what you would like to do online. From there I can guide you in the right direction.

Hi Gary,

It was encouraging to come across a mention of Liveperson.com out here in the blogosphere. I am a LivePerson expert in the areas of counseling and life coaching. I can speak to the potential of the site as a means of generating income. Currently, roughly 75% of my income is earned through the site.

While many of your readers might be in positions to profit from the site, the following suggestions may help them assess the possibilities.

*Checking the number of reviews for experts within a given category will give some idea of the amount of traffic within that category. Some categories tend to have more business than others

*Those who are available for consultation during off hours will be more successful upfront than others. Experts who are online are given more visibility. A newcomer is not likely to be seen on the front page during peak hours as there is a ranking system that rewards those who are doing the most business. During off hours, however, front page exposure (for profiles in a given category) is likely.

*Persons with real on-line marketing skills can do very well by bringing clients to their “online office”. For persons who are prepared to do this marketing, establishing rank may be easier than for those who wait for business to come to them,

I would think the affiliate program may also be a real money maker particularly for persons who have blogs that are widely read and relevant to established expert categories.

Thanks again for mentioning the site.

Let me see if I understand what I just read. Are you telling me that you can join LivePerson.com and not really be a “psychic.” Isn’t this TAKING MONEY UNDER FALSE PRETENCES? Am I confused or just honest. Most of the people who contact psychics are really hurting and are looking for some answers for their troubles. Would you want someone to make money off your heartache and pain if you found out that your wife or husband is cheating on you? Think about it?? It’s an ugly world we live in.
