Money Can Be Made Online

People really can make money online. I promise you that. But, it will not happen for everyone and to be honest, it doesn’t happen for most who try. Can that change? I really don’t know, but I want it to. I want everyone who has made it a personal goal to make money online and to find success with running an online business a reality and not a dream. I am sure you know by now that I really enjoy blogging. For me, blogging comes in many styles, shapes and forms, and that is how I blog. The blog you are reading here, this is my personal blog. My focus is NOT to make money from it, but rather attempt to illustrate what I do to make money online. What you see here on this site is NOT an example of how to make money online. This blog is NOT a money maker for me. You will see that later in a screen shot I have provided below.
Sitting back, and just looking at all the different blogs where I know the authors make tons of money, I can quickly see why many of their readers fail at making money online. Everyone in this world has someone to look up to, someone they follow and look to as a leader. Most successful bloggers who broadcast on their blogs in many ways deliver a false signal on how they really rake in on the cash each month.
People are beginning to discover that I rake in the cash too; however, I don’t want it to be assumed that what you see here on this site is an example of how I do it. Because, in reality this site, Garry Conn dot Com doesn’t make a lot of money at all. My real money is in the sites that I strategically create for the sole purpose of making money online.
Blogging as it may be fun for me personally, the reality of the situation is that blogging is really a formality when it comes down to how I make money. What is a blog? Well, I would like to believe that this site here is a blog. I write articles, I receive comments and I have people who interact with me. I think that constitutes as being a blog.
The sites that make me money online, these are all maintained using WordPress. However, are these sites are really not blogs! They are sites designed to make money. They are designed to target a niche audience and deliver the visitor from point A to point C.
-
Point A = The search engine.
-
Point B = Equals my site.
-
Point C = Google Adwords Advertiser.
To achieve a connection between all three points, I choose to use a very powerful and free program called, WordPress. My money making sites are not spam sites, as each site has very high quality, unique and useful information on them. Yet, I don’t receive any comments, I don’t interact with the visitors and in most cases I don’t have repeat traffic. For the most part, these are all one hit wonders. They come and they leave quicker than the door can close behind them. And in that 15 second process, they drop a quarter to a few dollars on the ground for me to follow in behind them and pick up.
I can’t really tell you what other people do to make money online. In fact, I don’t even focus on it. So many people ask me, “Hey, do you read or follow so in so’s blog?” I really don’t. Why? Because what I do works. And that is all I care about. This is my job! What I do pays my bills and feeds my kids. So honestly, I can only share with you what I do to make money online. Is this the only way to do it? No, I don’t think it is… but I do what I do, because I am good at it, and it comes very easy to me. The only way I personally know how to make money online is to have a ton of blogs.
Traffic is the single most difficult thing to get to a blog. Hands down, it is very difficult to get enough traffic to one site in order to make enough money online to quit your day job.
However, it isn’t difficult to get around 100 visits per day to a blog, now is it? Seriously, a good rule of thumb to live by is understanding that 100 visits to your blog should make you about $1 dollar. If you can maintain that level then you can soon retire and quit your day job.
This is what I do… in fact, I wrote a post about this a few months ago, and I am reminding everyone again. Here is my secret and you can do it too. You don’t have to buy an e-book from me, you don’t have to subscribe to some secret money makers network… if you want to make money online, I am telling you, point blank… this is what I do.
If you can run 100 blogs and get each blog to a level where it receives 100 visits per day, you should at a minimum make $1 dollar per day per blog. That is $100 dollars a day! What is wrong with that? Many people ask me, especially on my MyBlogLog comments page, “Man, how do you do it? How do you run so many blogs?” or “You must have 25 hours in each day!”.
Guys… its not difficult to run 100 blogs! No one said that you have to post on them everyday. No one said that you have to promote and heavily market it. Again, that is why I run WordPress. If you run a blog, that blog has an RSS syndication, that is the link you need to get into Google. Secondly, you need to invest the time into setting up a proper robots.txt file and a proper sitemap.xml file. Additionally, proper time needs to be taken in order to optimize the blog for search engines. And if you have the time, it wouldn’t hurt to do a few link exchanges with some other blogs that have PageRank. Aside from that… let WordPress and the search engines do their job.
A few months ago, my goal was to make $1 dollar per day per blog. Today, some of these blogs have grown to make over $4 dollars per day. One blog makes about $40 dollars per day. Another blog makes almost $100 dollars per day. Other blogs (not shown) are starting to reach the $1 dollar per day mark.

The above screen shot doesn’t even show HALF of the blogs reported in my daily Adsense report. It only shows 15 blogs. I have another 85 or so on the list that make between five cents to $3 dollars. All in all I make anywhere between $150 dollars per day to $350 dollars per day across the board. And that is with Google Adsense alone.
With many of my blogs, I have now gone back after allowing some time to gain establishment and signed up and got approved to run Text-Link-Ads. Secondly, I have created new sections in the blogs that display Yahoo Publisher Network Ads instead of Google Adsense Ads. Today, I make about $75 to $125 dollars per day using Yahoo Publisher.
I am also an Amazon Associates member and run their Context Links Beta program on a few of the blogs. This doesn’t make quite as much money for me but it sure does make for a nice bonus check, I have two separate accounts:

With the newly added Text-Link-Ads, I now add about $200 dollars per month on top of my income:

Lets Sum This Up!!!
I know… my articles are too long! Sorry! I have a lot of ground to cover…
Lets look at it this way. With my personal blog, Garry Conn dot Com, I have met so many wonderful and caring people. Literally, I know more people from this blog than I do in the regular outside world. Who is Garry Conn? I am just a typical guy who lives in Tennessee. I drive a piece of crap mini van and haul my three kids around town. My wife drive a piece of crap Honda Civic. I am not a dot Com millionaire! I have a daily job, just like everyone else, but it happens to be a career in blogging. If you want my job, I’ll show you what you can do to get it. There is plenty of room for all of us! And to be quite frank, I am alone in this business and I encourage more to join with me.
I am not the type of guy who is into wearing a suit, I am not the type of guy who is into fine dining and hitting up all the fine restaurants in New York. I run a bunch blogs that make a few dollars per day… and these dollars just simply add up across the board. I believe that is it easier to run multiple blogs and NOT worry about traffic than it is to run one blog and try to get enough traffic to make enough money to make ends meet. And to all my friends who wonder how I do it, there you go. Mystery unveiled. Garry Conn dot Com is NOT an example of how to make money online. This is a personal blog where I interact with thousands of people and make friends.
Find a niche, hopefully one that has a lot of money tied into it, and buck up and spend a few hundred dollars in hosting and domain names, and start launching blogs! Take that niche and OWN IT, RULE IT and DOMINATE IT! Over saturate that niche with so many little blogs that they totally take over the competition. That is what I did and will continue to do, and everyday I make more and more and more….
You can to… and I truly want to see more people do it. If you need help, contact me, if you need advice, feel free to IM me. I want to help you make your dreams become a reality.

Garry,
You always write the best articles for making money online. I think that you got me interested in this topic. Thank you for sharing your tips with us. I think that I can safely speak for all of your readers by saying that we all appreciate your openness very much.
I haven’t thought of using extra niche blogs to take over a niche. Interesting article!
BTW: Why are comments closed on “The power of One Blogger”? I think comments should be open on every post!
Garry that is very impressive… the problem I find is I do not have enough hobbies to write about in niche blogs! I would have to hire writers adding too the cost…
Good stuff Garry.
A few thoughts.
Buy 1 to 5 domains a month depending on budget.
Use a multi hosting package, for as little as $20 a month you can host as many as you want.
I recommend Micro Niche Finder software to help locate Micro Niches. This is where a lot of people make a mistake.
Example : Boats may be a niche, but breaking it down into Micro Niches can really make a difference. SailBoats, Yachts etc….
Great post! One question for Garry or anyone else who knows the answer: I have one Google Adsense account and the ads were initially approved by Google to be placed on my first blog. Since then, I have started a couple more blogs, but I have been using the same account to put Adsense ads on them.
My question is this: is that a violation of Google Adsense policy? Am I placing my account in jeopardy by using it to put ads on sites they have not technically approved?
I suspect it’s okay to do, because I have seen so many other bloggers do the same. But I would like some clarification; should I start a new Adsense account for every single new blog and wait for them to get approved, or is that not a problem?
Thanks!!!
Guys thanks so much for the comments! I was happy to share with you all. Bobby, I didn’t know that comments were shut off, I would never do that because I enjoy receiving comments. In fact I was concerned as to why I didn’t receive any. lol… thanks for telling me, apparantly comments were unchecked. Please feel free to comment away! Thanks again.
Congrats on your success Garry. Earlier this month I reached my first $100. Woo hoo!
HomeMom,
That is great… see and it was just a few months ago you were barely making $10.
Your Adsense will grow. The more you do, the more it grows. The more pages you create and the more blogs you make, it will start the snowball rolling down the hill effect. Congrats! that is great!
Gary have you ever looked into Never Blue add’s I have a referal link in my side bar. If you never really looked into it I am mosr impressed with them then adsense. Much nicer adds and a ton more options. Kinda like the sky is the limit thing.
Collin,
I will check it out and if I sign up, I will use your referral link.
Well heres a cool thing, if you like it or want to try it. They phone you to do a interveiw with you. And realy the fun for you starts once your aproved. I am going to be spending the next few days getting to know whats what with them and like I said theres a lot of thing to learn
Great article, Garry.
I have learned a lot about the business of blogging from you in the past few months. And also, thanks to you, I am learning that you don’t have to be an expert in any one field in order for your ideas to work.
It seems that everyone wants to be in on the Make Money niche, but I’m learning that there are millions of niche topics that make just as much or more money. Ideas that I never would have guessed would earn a buck, but they are working. Thanks to you.
Christine that is so great to hear. You have really become a great friend and I am very happy to hear that you are finding success online. With your level of intelligence and your astonishing ability to write, the sky really is the only limit for you.
I enjoy seeing your work and efforts pay off on the many ventures you are taking part it. Discounts Online is just one of many that I have seen you take the bull by the horns and totally dominate. I see that you have successfully been networking and building a customer base, I can see in the reporting that you are building a huge interest in the site… all in all you are making a name for yourself and for the many ventures you have going.
In the last few months, you have also been able to keep up with my intense and extreme speed in which I operate and need things done. Over the last three months I have grown too and I attribute a lot of of that to you.
Thanks very much Garry for taking the time to write on your personal blog, I’m sure it takes you away from your day job, but you’re a great writer and I always find what you have to say interesting and educational! Also, please don’t apologise for the length of your posts - it may mean I can’t read everyday, but I do try to set some time aside and catch up with your posts.
All in all, this post in particular is very inspiring!
Also, thanks for taking the time to chat on Google Talk and your openness to speaking to people sets you apart from so many bloggers and people making their money on the Internet - a great example to follow in all things blogging!
Gary can you contact me about your add spot I can buy. I don’t have an add but after reading all these comments I really want one on this site and you have a great price.
This blog is very good indeed. I’m into making money online and actually have several sites and earning good revenue. I have also kind of recently launched a new website, specifically dedicated to “making money online reviews” — precisely because of all the scams lurking around! Check it out: http://www.virtual-reviews.com — Let me know what you think?
Thanks
Collin,
the program is very simple. MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog are very popular, so typically what I do is take copies of people’s avatar there and upload it to my server. From there I link the avatar direct to the advertiser’s website.
If you are not a member of MyBlogLog or BlogCatalog, that’s ok. I see that you are an artist, so creating a graphic for use might come second nature to you. Also, I can create one for you. Which ever you feel is best. The avatar is a 25px square.
To sign up, click here. This creates a Paypal subscription in which you receive the first month free. Every month after that you are charged $5 dollars per month. You can cancel anytime.
I would stand to say, that my advertising is one of the most cost effective and affordable online.
Thanks for your shown interest.
Best Regards,
Garry Conn
Ok Gary I am signing up right now. Let me see my blog log avatar before you use it please.
Collin
Excellent Collin, I see that you have signed up. I have sent you a direct email. I look forward to adding you to my Top Page Ads.
Best Regards,
Garry Conn
Garry,
Excellent post. I really like your bluntness and congrats again on your earnings.
Talk with you later…
George,
I remember a few weeks ago that someone had contacted you about the acquisition of your site? Did that ever pan out? What ever came from it?
Garry,
I wrote about it here:
http://www.canimakebigmoneyonline.com/index.php/20070920-how-much-would-you-sell-your-blog-for/
but the simple answer is:
I did not sell it.
Hey thanks a lot for this post. It has helped me a lot with my online business tactics. Keep up the great work. I will be bookmarking this page for sure.
Hi Garry,

Hi Garry,
Love what you have here and you obviously have some very good ideas about one way to make money online. I wanted to ask you some questions and get your advice, but I have no idea how to IM you. I have Google Talk and also MSN, but without your email address I can’t add you to my contacts. If you get a free couple of minutes can you IM me please?
Thanks
Hi Garry,
I appreciated alot your post.
What about sharing with us HOW do you find profitable niches ?
Keep up with your great work
ciao
alex
I always thought about this idea to make money, but I didn’t know if I could make a dollar a day per blog doing it. Congratulations on your success. I might just have to give it a whirl sometime.
Garry,
A great post on what you’re doing with your niche blogs. I’ve been setting some up for the past month or so and am seeing a little bit of traffic and money - think I just need to work on them a little bit harder and build a hell of a lot more. Thanks for the advice in the post too it was a great help.
I’m starting to really like this idea of multiple websites for income. And, I do love working with WordPress. I wonder, could you use this strategy by setting up multiple subdomains and then use the same database for multiple installations of WordPress (one per subdomain)? Alternatively, if not subdomains, then folders on the main domain. If this worked, then the cost could be kept way down because you are only paying for one domain name and hosting account.
Although, I can only see this as working if all of your blogs were around the same topic, but different aspects. Or, if the domain name was totally non descriptive and the blogs were on diverse subjects.
Just a thought…since for me, personally, to start this, I have time, but not money.
Also, how long do you typically find it takes to get a site from 0 to 100 visitors a day? Specifically using this technique where you aren’t working on one particular site every day?
I guess these are newbie questions, but everyone starts as a newbie right?
Great article. You’ve really laid out a clear plan for anyone to follow…and it didn’t take an eBook. : ) Thanks for sharing this great information. Now to see if I can put some of this to work for me.
This is a great motivating article. I have just set up my first niche blog…only 99 more to go! lol!
My question is - how you drive traffic to these “one hit wonders”? I was wondering if you do any advertising…or just set up the SEO and go?
Thanks!
