.MX Domain Name Registration (Mexico Domain Names)

Beginning on September 1, 2009 .MX domain names will be available for registration. If you are interested in locking in on keyword packed domain names such as MakeMoneyOnline.MX, now is your chance to do so. The .Com.MX was originally launched back in 1989; however, GoDaddy.com announces a brand new re-launch.

This re-launch started taking place on March 1, 2009; however, this beginning stage is reserved for existing .Com.MX owners to give them the opportunity to transfer their .Com.MX domains to the new .MX extension.

This pre-registration period will end on July 31, 2009. GoDaddy.com claims that the .MX extension is a top-level domain name and will provide the same functionality of a .COM. Will you be taking advantage of this new domain name extension when it becomes available?

This is news to me. Thanks for sharing. No, I probably won’t be going for a .MX domain any time soon but it’s still nice to have another option if needed.

Garry,

What is your take on buying TLD’s other than .com’s?

I am curious on from a SEO perspective and also on a resale level.

Do .com’s hold more SEO value?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks,
Jason

Garry,

Godaddy claims that the .mx carries the same weight as a .com, but how can that be? There are so many different url extensions and they all don’t hold the same weight as a .com.

I’m wondering if this is just a marketing ploy to sell domain names? What do you think?

I hardly doubt that the .MX domains will hold the same value as a .COM . There are so many extensions out there, but .COM is still the winner.
