A reader named, Dick Hillenbrand, sent in an email that told me about a new website called BlewSpace.com which has a pretty cool blog locator database. Here is a copy of the email that was sent to me:

I just found a new site that is building a Blog locater database. blewspace.com. It is brand new and in Beta, but I thought that if you like it you might want to make an announcement to the Bloggersphere.
I think it’s kind of cool and I registered my two Blogs, Upstate New York Genealogy Blog and Genealogy Miscellanea.

I agree, this is kind of cool and definitely worth the little amount of time required to sign up and include your blog. Here is a screen shot of my blog added:
The process of adding my blog was very simple. Immediately after signing up and adding my blog I had to PING my blog to validate it:
This was very simple process. For WordPress users, it is a matter of copying the text they give to you and pasting it directly below your closing </body> tag.
Whether this will truly help you increase your traffic a lot, I am not sure, but like Dick said, it simply looks kind of cool and seeing your name and blog show up like that, you’re bound to get a hit or two.
