No More Google PageRank Rumor
There is a new rumor that is spreading like wildfire in the blogosphere. The rumor that is going around is that Google, Inc. will be completely doing away with their 12 year old algorithm called PageRank. This myth about no more PageRank is a little far fetched. However, perhaps its something that shouldn’t be ignored? It has been reported by a few bloggers one of which is a new blogger who has pushed herself heavily into the blogosphere and has quickly made a name for herself among many of the most popular niches, AdSense Tracker, has published an article that explained that Google will be evolving into a new system called Page Rate.
From what I can tell, Matt Cutts, a software engineer for Google and head of Google’s Webspam team, hasn’t reported any information leading to the end of Google PageRank. Secondly, there is nothing mentioned in Digital Point Forums.
Is this a big myth? Is this true? Is Google going to phase out Google PageRank? Or… is this just an attempt to gain a lot of traffic an interest for the source creators of the rumor? You be the judge. I would love to hear you comments and feedback.

Did someone notice, that AdSenseTracker´s post on PageRate is being labeled ‘humor’?
I did… I am just riding the coat tail a little bit and having some fun too! lol This story might get viral on your ass! So, I figured if would catch a thermal from it. No harm in that right?
Not true, Google has a new algorithm to detect paid links etc. That’s why it’s taking longer.
Moo Moo! What’s up John mad cow viral madness!
Yes… Google is hitting it pretty hard and heavy with trying to thwart paid links and links designed to inflate PageRank.
HAHAHA!!!! LOL!!
This is funny. I can’t believe how many people just scan it and screem.
Thanks for spreading it around. I’m getting some decent traffic off of this old post. LOL!
I dont think Google will remove the PR concept, sometimes PR has taken time to update. Lets wait.
Hey Nirmal,
Do you have any more killer buttons in development? And yes, I agree… PR updates can take time. I think too that people should factor in that the Internet is growing like crazy. It seemed like just last month Technorati reported 86 million blogs and today it is currently at 110 million blogs alone. I think Google does a pretty good job at handling all this, I really do. I don’t think I could do better. Are they flaws in their system? Of course! But even still I couldn’t imagine taking that responsibility. Also, this system is 12 years old! I only know of one other thing that has stood the test of time like this, and that is the Space Shuttle.
I thought it was a very funny post from Adtracker that’s why I linked my post to it. Personally, I really don’t care what Google does as my site doesn’t revolve around Google. Having said that, I still cannot wait until the Google update!!!!!
hehe, Garry you trying to spook people? Yeah I doubt it is true, at least not yet.
Hope you get that traffic. I see Adsense tracker came to visit too, congrats!
