PhotoShop Me Contest and Win $25
I have been working on branding my site as well as myself and I need your help! I am far from being an expert with PhotoShop and need someone to help me with creating a cartoon image of myself.
There are many authors that do this. One of the most popular that comes to mind is good ol’ Matt Cutts:
Another is ShoeMoney:
and…
The second one isn’t a cartoon graphic of Jeremy, but you get the point.
and…
BloggingTips.com, author Kevin Muldoon.
Branding is very important. I need your help! I am looking for someone that knows a little bit about PhotoShop and can take my ugly picture and make an cartoon version of myself.
(more pics on my about me page)
This picture above has me wearing sunglasses (sorry about that) I can include a different one if needed. I do wear prescription eyeglasses and they are smaller in size similar to the sunglasses in the picture above.
I would like the cartoon image of myself either,
- using a laptop computer or something like that. (represents writing)
- Holding a brain, or (represents intelligence)
- Having a shining light bulb glowing above my head. (represents creativity)
Again, I do wear eyeglasses so please make sure that is included.
Contest Rules and Details
- Please make sure the image resolution is somewhat high. I plan on reducing the image down to about 125×90 so if the image starts at 400x or higher, it will reduce down very nicely, producing a very clean, crisp and sharp appearance.
- The cartoon image needs to have a Web 2.0 feel to it.
- The cartoon image needs to be in the .png format.
- Do not add watermark or trademarks to the image. (I am paying you for rights to this image).
- Drop me a comment and let me know you have a draft copy. I will email you back so that you can send me your draft.
- Winner will receive $25.00 USD using PayPal.com or other type of payment. I know that there are international issues… we can work them out, etc…
- I will be writing a press release on the winner and acknowledge you as the winner and link direct to your site.

Okay, I can’t help with this one but had to say that icon looks so much like you. Wish I could do that type of stuff but that photochopping/slashing whatever thing I can’t do. Why do you think most places have a cartoon image of a red-headed girl, sitting in front of a laptop, drinking a soda? It’s me but there would be no way I could design it.

LOL!
I don’t see any resemblance!

Wow, this is spooky. I just saw Chris Pirillo’s sketch that he uses on his site for the 1000th time and started wondering what I would have to go through to get one of those, or how much it would cost.
If you find someone to do this, feel free to pass along my info
I would like something like this either for my site or just to have for stuff.

Yeah, that is awesome!
I might not get that for $25.00 but it is worth a shot… have you seen some of the crazy things a 13 year kid can do on PhotoShop!!!

I never thought of it as a way to brand yourself. In addition to our web comic, my brother and I have taken on the personas of our characters and used them to represent us in our postings. Now I have a term for it: Branded!
I would also be interested in the information of a good artist. I’m always looking for ways to improve my blog and its image!

Thanks man… I am not good at drawing either. I am hoping that I can find a teen kids with a lot of talent who wants enough money to buy a video game!
All in all… I know that this could cost a little money, maybe more than $25.00, but this post at least opens the door to opportunity. I am pretty much open to offers, etc..

Hey Garry. I’m not going to enter. But I do have a resource to share with you…Draw-Me.com. I have a client who used them and they did a great job for $40. I’ve been thinking about using them myself.
You can see my client’s caricature at dennisstevens.com. You can see his real photo here.
Pretty good, huh?

The sooner the better. I have a little incentive to do this to. I can offer $25.00 and a press release about it.

If you don’t get anything you like in a reply here you could try paying someone at a local market - there are always artists around markets doing caricatures and potraits that could do what you want.

No clue if I’m doing this right, but I am trying to send a link with the contest announcement to ya. Yep, I added your contest to my list. Good luck finding someone, this is one I can’t sign up for.

Did you get many contestants for this one?
Date/Time: 6-18-2007 11:56:54 Comment #3148
No I never did… but still very interested in having one done. I did find a site about a month ago or so that does them for under $50 dollars and I might do that. Unless there are any artists out there that want to score an easy $25 dollars!
