I want to share a wealth of information with my readers (you!). I have visited the sites of my last ten MyBlogLog readers and discovered a gold mine of information that can help you with your venture as a successful blogger. You can visit the sites of these recent readers by simply clicking on their face in the image on the left. First on the list is PatrickGavin. The article I enjoyed reading on his site is an article that reminds us all that there is more to being successful than SEO and SEM. Branding and having a great logo is extremely important.

Next on the list is Broc, where he reminds us of the importance of having an about me page and more importantly, a contact page. Broc illustrates his frustration dealing with sites that offer neither.

John Chow! Wow… John Chow paid my site a visit… that’s pretty cool. John Chow has a great post that explains his reasons for using third party advertisers such as ReviewMe and Text-Link-Ads. I agree with his thoughts to a point, but offer a friendly disagreement with this theory because I feel that a site like his should break away from the training wheels of third party advertisers and go independent. It would save his advertisers money make him a little more money and prevent the middle man from laughing during his trip to the bank.

LeroyBrown from the famous GreenLlama! has posted some thoughts on Kontera and seems to be on the fence post between deciding to keep the program active or not… he wants to run the campaign and test it out to the end of April before making any decisions about it.

With the unintentional debate I started between John Chow’s post and mine, Kyle’s Cove asks the community, “Should You Advertise With Third Parties?”. If you have an opinion or want to share some input, pay a visit to Kyle’s Cove and speak your mind!

Matt608, owner of Affiliate Scam Guides has released an article that talks about the every popular BlueHost and their affiliate program. Matt supports BlueHost and gives them a big thumbs up and in the article he expresses his trust and talks about his relationship with the company.

Dustin Brewer reports information about the new Popup 2.0, a new breed of pop ups that come hand in hand with Web 2.0. In his article, you will learn about Popup 2.0, how to guard yourself against it and learn about how it was developed.

Keith Davis, site author and owner of Plooms, published a post that asks the community about their opinion about John Chow and offers a pretty blunt and to the point poll: Does John Chow’s information work, or is he just another make money schemer. There is currently four votes and 3 out of 4 feel John’s information is real. I feel and support John Chow and feel everything he talks about is designed to help us be successful. Someone so far has voted against that, so if you support John Chow head over to Plooms and place your vote!

Dave123, the author of Engaging the Disquiet wants to hear from you if you are doing work that has meaning in your life. Dave explains that there is a mixed message out there that to do meaningful work means you have to sacrifice success or profit.

And the last on the list is Madhur, author of WhoIsMadhur, offers some really good references for optimization your website including advise on image position, sidebar position and how to present your content.

* So that is it! This is what is happening in my little branch of the blogosphere. Pay each of these authors a visit. They all work hard on their sites and work even harder to publish such great content. Drop them a comment, bookmark their sites, add them to your Technorati Faves…  it’s all about community and helping each other. To visit their sites, scroll up and click their faces in the image above.

Wow, I like how you made the pictures clickable. They even show up in the feed!

Just in case your readers didn’t know, Patrick Gavin is also the founder of Text Link Ads (I believe). You probably knew that already!

This is a good way to reward readers for clicking through and actually generating a page visit!

I am glad you like the clickable pictures. I do the same thing for my banner advertisements. Folks can sign up for one banner ad and get multiple sections of their site seen all in one banner. It’s pretty cool. It’s like having five advertisements for the price of one.

Pretty busy day today… Had John Chow as well as Patrick Gavin paid my site a visit… pretty cool! :)

Hi Garry , how did you make these clickable pictures ?

I can do a lot more than clickable pictures…

Madhur, you have to remember good buddy that I am old school and a major Web 1.0 Junkie.

Before there was Wordpress, BB Code, and WYSIWYG I had NOTEPAD.EXE

Most of my posts are actually written in HTML code and copied and pasted into Wordpress. A few months ago I started using Windows Live Writer Beta which isn’t too bad because that is one of the only programs I am somewhat satisfied with the written HTML code generated from the program. For advanced stuff I still write code by hand. Sometimes I open up my trusty Front Page. The clickable images are really simple, its an old school technology called image mapping and has been used for close to ten years now. Google it and give it a shot… it would be cool to give a re-birth to a retro web 1.0 technology!

But don’t get me wrong… I love 2007 and I love web 2.0 because without it I couldn’t share my favorite songs with you!!!

I have to admit though… it is getting a little mind boggling. :)
