Shawn does a great job at capturing the interest of his readers by being very creative with his writing. True Life: I Run a Tech Site…
Hey what’s up? I’m Shawn, a 24-year-old former Ole Miss student currently living in Oxford, MS. I am originally from Memphis, TN but spent most of my younger years in Olive Branch, MS. I graduated high school in 2001 and took a two year break to develop my company/website, OverClock Intelligence Agency – OCIA.net for short. I took over ownership of the site in 2001 and have spent the past six years building it to what it has become today.
I came to Ole Miss in 2003 to pursue a degree in computer science, which then turned into journalism… and then, nothing. After almost four full years of school, I realized it wasn’t for me, at least not right now in my life. I love the school and (most) everything about it, but a college degree will not help me one bit with running my own company. I took over running OCIA.net full time in February of 2007 and thus far, I absolutely love it! Being your own boss is great, as is doing what you love. I couldn’t be happier with my decision.
I started this blog to give my readers a peek into my daily life as a tech site owner. There is a lot more work involved in running a successful tech site than most people thing. Also, this will be a place to for me to showcase some of my amateur photography, network / meet new people, post random thoughts and generally just have a good time.
