Say Bye Bye To Bidvertiser and AdVolcano
I have been messing around a little bit for about a month with BidVertiser and Advolcano on my blog. Actually I have messed around with both programs on many of my blogs.

With the type of blog I have here on Garry Conn dot Com, running Bidvertiser really isn’t optimal. It takes up a lot of valuable real estate and it conflicts with many of the other successful programs I have running such as the newly updated ReviewMe.com, Text-Link-Ads, Google Adsense (displayed below the posts) and my very own highly successful Top Page Ads program.
Don’t get me wrong, I think BidVertiser is a great program and an excellent alternative to those who choose to not run Google Adsense or other pay per click programs. But I don’t think that it is right for Garry Conn dot Com. It does, however, perform well on other sites of mine, but with Garry Conn dot Com, it takes up too much valuable real estate for the amount it compensates me for.
Having that said… say, “Bye Bye, BidVertiser!”

Poor, poor, poor AdVolcano. I just don’t think they are doing well. I have tried many times to make contact with them and I have never had any responses back. I can not do business with anyone who doesn’t return my emails or phone calls. It’s sad too, because I have many sites that offer up some really great campaigns for their advertisers. AdVolcano is failing to deliver business. I am more than doing my part and lead in many top result listings by reporting the highest traffic stats.
I rank #2 for their entire business category and haven’t received a single sale. I have freely advertised their business by giving them over a countless number of free page impressions. I have done more than most people would be willing to do to help another business out.
I can’t help but noticed that they have shady business practices as well. For the hundreds of blogs who I am personally friends with who are also advertising AdVolcao on their blogs for free, AdVolcano chooses to make a few select blogs as “Featured Blogs” while they don’t even actively do their part and display the banner on their site. Let’s not mention any names:
Because of their shady business practices, because they don’t return my emails or phone calls and because hundreds of my own personal blogging friends have worked hard to give them free advertising and free traffic without giving us anything in return…
… Garry Conn says, “Bye Bye AdVolcano, and I hope your volcano goes bank ‘erupt‘.
Within the next week I will be completely removing all my campaigns and deleting my AdVolcano account.
The removal of BidVertiser and AdVolcano will free up a lot of wasted space on my sidebar and also allow me to more closely study traffic trends and study which areas of my blog are hot and which are not.

All in all, I went well beyond the average effort taken to help these two companies. I even created a custom campaign and designed custom graphics to match and compliment my current theme. As far as Advolcano is concerned, if that doesn’t deserve a phone call back, then I don’t know what does. Again, with BidVertiser, the poor performance is accepted and expected. BidVertiser works fine on other blogs of mine.

Thats something we need more of Gary, people saying what works and what don’t. And most of all they need to keep in touch if you have concerns. I never made a single cent with adsense. Maybe I was doing it wrong don’t know but oh well I can always go back if Never Blue dosnt do anything.
What sites were do you have that were failing with Adsense?
I joined adsense and in 7 days my account was terminated. I hadn’t done anything except put up on basic tower ad and it was done correctly. I never clicked ad on my blog (not even by accident). Actually I’ve never clicked an adsense ad on any blog.
They terminated my account for invalid clicks. I was shocked to say the least. When I checked with Google they sent me TO A FORUM to complain. Then they told me, “Please never complain again as all future complaints will be disregarded”.
As long as I am Bobby Revell with my social security number, I CAN NEVER BE APPROVED FOR ADSENSE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, according to Google.
I offered to send them all of my site’s server logs and they asked me to please refrain from any future complaints as they will be disregarded! LOL!
That was the day I lost all respect for Google’s highly unethical business practice of making it’s customers the enemies and their advertisers their protected friends.
It really hurt. To this day I still cannot believe it! The only reason I use bidvertiser is because I can’t use Adsense. What would you recommend for me Garry? I need some good advice for what my blog would benefit from being that adsense isn’t an option.
Hey Garry,
I just wanted to note that we received your last email a couple days ago. We’ve actually been trying to resolve a couple issues on our email servers that have been preventing us to deliver to select recipients. My apologies for that and for not getting back to you via email. To be honest, we’ve been completely slammed. We’re gearing up to launch the new website along with several major product updates. Again, our apologies for the delay in response.
Jason,
it is a little disheartening to discover that writing a post on my blog is my only channel for making contact with you. The email that you received a few days ago, was that the one I wrote about a month ago, or the most recent one? Either way, it still goes as being unreplied to. With everything that you are gearing up for, will your customer service levels also follow suit?
I really encourage new businesses; however, to me, it doesn’t matter how bad things are running internally, you have got to keep open lines of communication with the general public. You don’t answer phone calls, you don’t answer emails and your public blog hasn’t been updated since May 22nd. I don’t see that as an acceptable excuse.
[...] Yet, my blog is one of the leading blogs that advertise and promote their service. As covered in a previously written article, my blog lead the way for the entire business [...]
I successfully use Bidvertiser, however it give me less than AdSense.
I have similarly just had my google adsense account suspended for being dangerous or whatever term they use to advertisers. I have had the same adsense account on the same website for years – no problems. Have not done a vast amount with it but earn maybe $10 a month. Paid for hosting at least. All you get is the same response as above – send in an appeal, complain on a forum where there are just lots of others complaining about the same thing and get nowhere. So using the opportunity to try some other alternatives. Have signed up for adbrite, which seems to be the best alternative according to write ups and also looking at textlinkads, atoll and bidvertiser. Was going to try advolcano but having read several poor reviews think I will cross it off the list.
