SEO Friendly WordPress Blog
I just registered my blog with YouTube so that I can automatically send YouTube videos to my blog. This is my first post doing this, so we’ll have to see how this looks when I post it. The video can also be seen here.
The video included in this post is a video I have kept in my favorites for a few months now. The video is of Michael Gray from Gray Wolf SEO Blog. In this video he offers a very good demonstration of what I have been trying to explain to readers for a long time. Only difference is that I totally disallow all sections of my blog except for the home page and individual post pages. Additionally, I have completely done away with categories all together. I am in the process of tagging all my post with relevant keywords; however, even my keywords will be disallowed in the search engines.
The main purpose of having tags, categories, archives, etc… is to help readers find information more easily. There is a drawback to this though… and this is with the search engine crawling.
In my experience, I have noticed that search engines really like category pages and in many cases more than individual post pages.
If you are pretty good with php programming, you can actually tweak your WordPress category pages in a way that makes search engines consider these pages as mini home pages. However, I just like to keep things simple.
This video will open your eyes a little bit and give you a better understanding of something that I have not been very successful in explaining to my readers. After watching this video, it would be a good idea to visit a lot of various blogs you visit on a regular basis, and then also review how their pages look in Google, this will open your eyes even further.
Good luck, as always, comments are appreciated and welcome.
Best Regards,
Garry Conn
