I am going to have to be creative while thinking about this one. Here is a list of some of my favorite older movies. Special thanks to HomeMom3 for making me be creative and think about this one. I would enjoy reading what your older favorite movies are. Share with the world what some of your all time favorites are, all you have to do is drop a quick comment below with your list.
Pulp Fiction

Pulp Fiction
made in 1994 is a movie about two hitmen who are out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace. Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his next fight. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together comprising of a series of funny, bizarre and uncalled-for incidents.

Here is one of my most favorite scenes in the move.
* Warning: Very violent and profound language. Do not press play if you are easily offended by violent and movies with profanity.
Boiler Room
Boiler Room
made in 200 is a movie about A morally decent college dropout who finds himself at conflict with his harsh federal judge father. He gets a job as a stock broker and gets on the fast track to success. Only things take a turn for the worst when he learns that his job isn’t what’s it cracked up to be.

Here is a movie clip pulled from YouTube. It also happens to be one of my favorite scenes.
* Warning: Very profound language. Do not press play if you are easily offended by movies with profanity.
The Aviator
The Aviator
- Phenomenal public success contrasts with private behaviors close to madness: Howard Hughes from the late 1920s to the late 1940s, from “Hells Angels” (spending a fortune on details) through the only flight of the Hercules, a huge, money-losing transport plane. Along the way, the public Hughes sees the big picture – in movies and in aviation, building TWA and leading it through a fight with Pan Am and the US Senate. In private, phobias and compulsions threaten him with self-imposed solitary confinement. How long can his imagination, drive, and the sympathies of Katharine Hepburn, Ava Gardner, and the men who work for him stave off these internal disorders?

Here is the Movie Trailer that I found on YouTube. Very cool movie… if you haven’t seen this one, its worth watching.

Can ya believe it, I’ve never seen Pulp Fiction? It is never on the shelves when I go to look for it. I didn’t list all my favorites, of course…there are just too many. Another is Silence of the Lambs. I guess I’m going to look for these titles ya list the next time I go up. Love recommendations so thank you very much. I have many plans for that list of 13 now.
BTW- I do have a movie review site, just not many know about it. Can’t wait to read other movie recommendations.
Garry- are you missing a page? I just saw in technorati another page and went to read it but it was missing.
I’m sure Fight Club is in your list too.. the 3 you mentioned are definitely in my top 10!
Wow, I love your first two choices. That scene in Pulp fiction is spectacular. Along with Boiler Room, although I think that movie is a little far fetched, it’s still great.
Silence of the Lambs is great. Have you seen Contact? That is another staring Jodie Foster. Released in 1997. That is one of my favorites also! I hear you on listing your favorites. I could be here all day listing out my favorite movies. Saving Private Ryan is yet another that comes to mind!
Sometimes, quickly after a post publishes, I change my mind and pull it.
Oh can’t watch that one. (Saving Private Ryan)
Alright.. since we are talking about movies here’s a quote from a movie I recently watched.. let’s see who can remember the name of the movie!
Just kidding you do anyways!
‘As witchita falls as falls wichita falls’
Winning commenter gets a link back from Garry..
Boiler Room was a little far fetched… I just love how they sell and close deals… totally awesome!
Wow, I totally forgot about Fight Club.
I have another good one! Apollo 13 was absolutely amazing. That movie is totally awesome.
Really? You haven’t seen it? Why can’t you watch it? Just curious.
Fandango
now I’m hoping it is the one I think it is. If I’m right those this deals with war. My hubby is a marine and during the time it came out was the first time he went over. I remember hearing about this one and everyone telling me I should never watch it because he always goes over. Guess I can watch it now that he’s been there twice now. (too realistic for me)
Yes you are right. First off, my respects go out to your hubby for helping keep a safe country for my family. Here are some more movies that I really enjoy too:
Oh I can’t forget this one:
From The Earth To The Moon
One of my all time favorites!
Oh man… for that matter, how can I forget about this one:
Forrest Gump
This is on my top 10 list.
Nope. Try again Garry.
Ok… you have me on edge here, can you give me a few clues?
hehe, I cheated but I found it. At least I think I did.
Does it begin with The (and the letter “I”)?
You got it and I got your email as well.
Oh come on now! You are being just outright dirty!!!
Throw me a bone here! lol
A hint, it’s a cold title.
search the phrase you’ll find it that way, that’s what I did.
Love them all. Hmmm, ET phone home anyone? lol
hehe, I do love that movie. Someone gave me it as a wedding gift. My favorite line is, “Life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what ya gonna get.”
Great choices man , PULP FICTION was an awesome film . A few of my favourites include Shawshank Redemption ( a must watch ) , the game ( Michael Douglas , great thriller ) . Do watch “Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrells ” and “Snatch ” ….Great movies .
Pulp was great back when I saw it in the cinemas. The first movie I saw that had intertwining stories – I loved that style.
Oh man, I do too… Quentin Tarantino is so famous for that… It’s one of those movies you can watch about 10 times and still discover something new about. I totally dig this type of style.
You hit the nail on the head there with Shawshank Redemption. Wow… that movie is very good. Hey, what about The Green Mile… have you seen that one? It’s another one of my favorites.
You two have got me! and have been leaving me hanging for two days! Come on now… I am been tortured long enough!
Just kidding… I have a little bit more left in me, but I could use just one more clue!
Yes, that is the most widely known line… I love it! But can you say it the way he did?
ET was awesome. Steven Spielberg is amazing!
Just saw two more movies, Brdige to Terabitha(no clue on spelling) and Spiderman 3. The first one was cute (kid movie and all, but made my 3 year old cry) and S3 was great at first but I didn’t care much towards the ending. (long but probably because we’d just went to see the other movie)
Green Mile was another good movie . I love any movies from Tom Hanks . He was great in “Terminal ” & “castaway”
Tarantino is the best . Even Reservoir Dogs was great ..Have you watched the “Grindhouse” ?
My son want to see that bridge movie – looks good for a 9 yo boy.
one of my favourites is WestWorld, I still like it – stars Yul Brinner (?spell) Loved it as a kid – robots gone wild, cowboys – it’s got everything a boy wants:)
Ever see the Simpson make of it?
Oh man, yes the Terminal as well as Castaway were golden. Castaway was absolutely amazing… and really same with Terminal.
Man, I am surprised to not see your Movie Reviews section not more built up on your blog! There is a ton of things to write about for movies!
Oops sorry Garry.. my weekend was crazy and there are only very few days I don’t read my emails and this weekend happened to be one.
It starred John Cusack & Billy Bob Thornton.
Pushing Tin!!!
Please… I have to be right! Not to mention, that is yet another awesome movie!
You are right man , i need to start working on that section too . Got too lost in Technology .
These aren’t old movies Gary
You gotta go back man…
The Wild Bunch
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
etc.
pulp fiction is also one of my favorite movies…brilliant!
