Sometimes The Way To Make Money Online Isn’t What You Expect
The funny thing about people who want to make money online is that many times the way they think they want to make money online isn’t actually how it happens. For example, we’ll use my friend Christine Senter. She hooked up with me over a year ago with the aim of possibly making money online with AdSense.
Now, I am not going to say she isn’t making a little money from AdSense, I am going to say that the money she makes with AdSense isn’t paying the mortgage and all the bills. Over the last year she has been writing for me and helping ne with providing amazing and high quality content for my sites.
As you may know, Christine is a very skilled writer and she has adapted her skills in a way which brings her tons of freelance writing jobs on the Internet. She is mostly landing writing jobs from people who need keyword rich content for ranking in search engines.
The point to all this is that over a year ago, she toyed with the idea of making money online using AdSense and today she is earning a very decent income as a freelance copywriter. The great thing about her success is that it took just a little over a year to achieve and her business today continues to grow. My hope is for her to tell me one day in the near future that she was able to quit her day job.
So with that said, I want you to think about this story and sit back for a minute and consider how open the road is towards making money on the Internet. You can do anything you want and what you choose can be fun. In my opinion, that is the whole point. Why make money online doing something that you don’t like when you can do the same thing offline? You might as well keep your day job.
Ask yourself, “What am I good at and what do I enjoy?” And then ask yourself, “How can I take these two elements and shape them into something profitable online?”
You can’t be anxious, you can’t be afraid to experiment and surely you can’t be afraid to take risks and fail. I can’t begin to tell you how many mistakes I have made in the last three years. The more I think about that, I could actually start an entire blog about it and have an endless amount of content. When people say that it is important to view things out of the box, that in itself has more meaning when applied to ideas online.
The Internet is a free place where people have nothing but blank paper to draw up anything they want. It is a place where degrees, education, and labels have little to no value. It is a place where your level of creativity and determination to win mean more than anything else. Everyone has dreams, and everyone has a certain level of motivation to make their dreams come true. The Internet is the spring board that enables everyday and common people to experience the same successes as hard core, seasoned, and highly educated businessmen.
If you want to make money online, all that is needed is for you to figure out what it is that you are good at and what you enjoy and then figure out how to take these elements and build something online. My friend, Christine, has been writing since she was a little girl and today she is earning money on the Internet doing something that was a childhood dream.

I got started online not to make money but to enjoy my hobby more. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I liked building blogs and sites. Now I spend just as much time trying to make money from sites outside of my interest and hobby.
It has been a fun journey so far and I am looking forward to the future.
Great video, article, and story. Congrats Christine.
This very topic is something that I’ve struggled with quite a bit.
The thing i like most about working from home on the internet is the lifestyle that comes with it.
Not having to wake up early and hate what your doing…
The way I first made money online sure wasn’t the way i expected… it was actually very short lived but that success taught me that it could be done and that their is a lot of opportunity here!
Keep your eyes open online! But don’t fall for hype! that’s what i say!
Hi Garry!
Thanks for the video! Good, no-nonsense info, as usual.
That said – quit rockin’, man – you’re making me nauseous! LOL
You are taking Blogging really seriously. I was trying, but I still have much personal posts on my blog, prolly I just need to read your blog more often and learn more
Hello Garry!
Your video is great! It filled me with energy and passion to find my niche. I think every beginner like me should see this video before rushing into any online business. Thanks once again and good luck
Yeah–you never know where life is going to take you. The problem is having too many things you enjoy doing and not being able to pick just one.
Pretty inspirational, Garry. Love success stories. Go Christine!!!
Thank you for that information, that is very helpful and i cant wait to put it to use keep the post going. Nice video also
thank you
Derrick
Once again, thanks honey. And Garry is absolutely right. The best way to make a living on the web is by doing
A.) what you love, and
B.) something that not many other people are doing.
Garry’s thing is building blogs/niche sites, mine is writing, someone else’s might be giving advice-or helping people find their true love- whatever. As Garry said, all I’ve ever wanted to do was be a writer. My biggest obsticle was that I was never able to go to college. Everything I’ve done in my writing to this point, has been self taught. In the real world, I’d still be looking for my big break, but online, I’m doing what I’ve always dreamed of doing.
And with that being said, remember to be careful what you wish for, because it might just come true.
Thanks Bryan,
I’m really hoping that someday Garry will have something a little less boring to talk about than me. LOL
LOLOLOLOL,
Thank You Wendy–I’ve been trying to tell him that he looked like one of those people who needed one of those little white coats that had the arms in the back. LOL Every time I see him rocking back and forth, I think of the movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
Thank you honey,
Honestly, Garry makes me sound a LOT better than I really am. But he’s the boss so I don’t argue. LOL
So true! I’ve heard so many stories from online marketers who started blogging, then transitioned to affiliate marketing, or tried to develop a web site but became a copywriter, etc, etc. The easiest way to make money online isn’t always the best. It’s better to figure out a way to make money online that you enjoy- you’ll do better in the long run because it won’t feel like work!
Sometimes the answer is staring you right in the face. I suck at writing but good story. Thanks for the share man.

I’m slowly learning how to make money with my writing online. Since I’m unable to work at a regular job, I have a lot of time to devote to this.
Thanks for the video.
Have been online for a long time to have fun. Recently I try to make a buck or two, which I found isn’t that easy. What has worked for me at the end, was to focus on one thing only. I made niche websites and now I took it a step further, joining a team since I am not good in everything. I must say it was the right choice for me.

Amen! when i bought script29.com I thought I’d make a killing selling ajax scripts, I soon realized that for every sale I’ve made amost three times as much doing custom integration and modifications of the code I sold.
People are creative and have needs, talk to them and explore new options at every opportunity. Always be the salesman.
