Systems Work People Fail and So Did John Chow In His Review of The Reverse Funnel System
May 12th, 2008 by Garry Conn | About Me | Join Free Mailing ListMy God… get real! You know, I could very easily title this blog post differently and blow smoke up the asses of my 800+ subscribers and use my talent and use my highly volatile tactics and sales skills to promote the hell out of Ty Coughlin’s Reverse Funnel System and probably make enough money within 24 hours to pack up and go on vacation for a month.
But will I do that? No! Why? …because this program is a bunch of crap and I would never allow myself to do something so terrible as to abuse the trust in my readership to promote a product that will make my readers poorer, when its my job to help make you richer.
Am I calling you stupid? No!! But I what I am saying is that I believe that there is a huge level of trust established between myself and my readers. I believe that because of this level of established trust between myself and my readers, I find a huge amount of success when I promote products that I believe in, such as Micro Niche Finder.
I believe that when trust is established, people will purchase products that I recommend. I also believe that people will also drop their defenses and allow me to pitch products to them successfully. I am not going to use that to my advantage, to score it big on things that I know are garbage. Why? Because I know that every time I do, I will lose the established trust I have worked long and hard to build up with my readership.
John Chow might not know it, but people do talk and his blog is not what it used to be. People don’t trust John Chow anymore and I don’t believe that John Chow acquires a lot of repeat business. Because he deals is such a high volume of people, he can obviously afford burn the bridge of trust and screw people over by promoting products such as Ty Coughlin’s Reverse Funnel System. He knows, that there is another 15,000 people he can hit up in his next marketing campaign on a different product.
So what would John Chow do? The complete opposite of me of course… John Chow would not only allow people to advertise this garbage in his sidebar but he would also accept to publish a sponsored post or paid review about it. And you know? He does it well…
In his review of The Reverse Funnel System, he is a smooth operator and publishes a flawless review that will fulfill its purpose in sending his mindless followers to a site owned by an individual named Damon Harris which promotes The Reverse Funnel System. The site was just registered only 4 days ago.
The review is nothing more than a bunch well pieced together words that cover up the smell of this crap garbage program that is only making people more in debt to their ventures in MMO rather than richer.
John Chow so casually explains that you have to invest $50 bucks up front just to get a general overview of the product and then if you decide that the program sounds good enough to work with, you’ll need to invest another whopping $3,000 dollars into this program before you can even begin to make attempts to use this system to make money.
But wait… the madness gets even better. Check this out! After spending over $3000.00 dollars into some miracle system that is supposed to make money for you automatically, you still have to invest even more money into promoting and marketing the products within this system, otherwise you fail.
John Chow mentions in his review that the ultimate deciding factor between being successful with The Reverse Funnel system and not, is all based around your ability to funnel traffic to promote the product within the system itself.
John Chow casually claims that the $50 dollar enrollment fee is simply a deterrent against people who are truly aren’t serious about making money online.
“Many people will be put off by this requirement right away and that’s the whole idea. By charging the $50 fee, the system ensure that only truly interested prospects see it.” said John Chow
Bullshit…. that $50 dollar enrollment fee is there because it can be. It doesn’t weed out the tire kickers, it’s called milking the ignorant bastards for all they got down to the last penny.
John Chow continued to provide his top grade insider’s tip on how to be successful with this program after spending over $3000.00 on it.
“…be prepare to spend some money advertising on various make money online blogs because that’s how the system works. You buy ads to generate traffic and that traffic makes you money. The more ads you buy, the more traffic you generate and the more money you make. That’s how it should work anyway.”
Let me guess, after buying into this program and being over $3000.00 dollars in debt, I need to buy a review or an advertisement from John for yet an additional $500 dollars!
John Chow then casually admits that you are totally screwed if you don’t have any more money to spend on advertising and promoting after having spent over $3000.00
“If you don’t have any money left after buying the product and paying the application fee, then making money from the system is going to be really hard. At least you can still enjoy the $3,000 product.”
Enjoy the $3,000 dollar product? In my opinion, if this system were to be printed on paper, it would go down in the history books as being the most expensive toilet paper in the world. If you purchase The Reverse Funnel system, you are in essence purchasing very expensive printable toilet paper.
Ty Coughlin is a scam artist and his Reverse Funnel System John Chow’s review is proof. John Chow mentions in his article how legit the program is based off the high demand for advertisers requesting ad slots on his blog.
Well no crap! Most people have nothing to loss at that point… after investing over $3000 dollars into a scam. You might was well go all in and spend another $500 dollars in a one last attempt to get your money back by scamming others.
Consider what a crack addicted whore would do to score $20 bucks on the streets. If you invest money into a product that scammed you out of $3000 dollars, I can only imagine to what lengths you’ll bring your A-Game into selling the piss out of the same product you bought in attempt to rebound your loss.
Money doesn’t come easy on the Internet. There is NO product that automatically generates it. And anyone who tells you differently is a liar and or a contributor towards the scam side of the MMO niche. It’s really sad to see people with such high levels of authority, respect and trust among peers to resort towards contributing and enabling others to continue feeding off the weak, desperate and ignorant in attempts to financially benefit themselves.

While i appreciate and even understand your views and where you are coming from, It’s his readers, and his views. Also I feel he fairly depicted the product, in other words, due to mass exposure to it i was considering buying it at some stage (paying the $50) After John reviewed the backed, I decided that I won’t, so his review saved me my $50.
More then that, this constant need of yours to put everyone else down is interesting, I know what you are doing, trying to carve a niche in the ‘I call the guru’s on their BS’, but please, can we not have them backing up, post on post.
Im a new subscriber to your blog, almost removed myself after the John Cow bravado, but figured I’d give you a fair shot.
At the same post you are bashing Chow, you are pushing product yourself… Pot, Kettle…Black? and while I completely agree with you that Micro Niche Finder is a MUCH better product, I don’t think it’s fair to bash other people’s business practices and assume yours are the ONLY way to go

… and that is why I have a complete separate mailing list for my little competition with Cow. My main mailing list will not have any information related to this competition. In fact, I even have a separate home page for this game I’ll be playing with Cow called, COWpetition. I already recognize that many of my regular readers might not have an interest in the fun and games I play online and that is why I have chosen to keep much of this separate.
Ironically though, you are the minority. Once I announced that I was going to tango with Cow man… my classroom enrollments are skyrocketing.
Nope… if fact, I am sure if I asked, I could validate the authenticity of this program by asking my readers to drop a comment here and tell you how wonderful this program is. If they do, great… but I don’t expect them to as they have already done the numerous times in the past when I pitch this product.
I can’t begin to tell you how many of my regular readers have purchased Micro Niche Finder based off my personal recommendation and I don’t know a single person who is dissatisfied or asked for a refund.

Hi Garry you are 100% right and I strongly believe that John Chow is thinking about ways to get money and do not care about his visitors anymore.I want to know how much people has unsubscribed from his rss feeds in the past few months as his blog is turning to be full of shit…At least he is true to the fact that he does make money by telling others how he make money…..This is absolutely true because others who reads John Chow will not make a single cent or penny. If anyone opposes to this comment and raise their hand and say that John Chow helps me to make money….then show me a meaningful post from his blog in the past few month!!
Date/Time: 5-12-2008 13:40:47 Comment #14122
John Chow does have meaningful posts… however, it sure is hard to weed through the garbage. More importantly, if trust isn’t there, it sure is hard for people to trust his material when he indeed is speaking from the heart. In a more recent post I had suggested to my readers that they should Read John Chow Backwards.
Date/Time: 5-12-2008 10:28:41 Comment #14112
I read this just this morning and was horrified. I am not actually a reader of Chows but was working on a new post.
John Cow Now John Chow.
In the early days (well a few months ago) I might have actually been coned by such a piece of crap!! Angers me immensely.

Ha ha… that was an excellent read.. I’ll poke back in a few hours and drop a comment. Congrats on getting on good reaction from it so far.

Garry;
The problems is that Newbies desperate for $$ find that product and charge $3050 to their credit cards hoping that this is the free money program they have been looking for. Here are the red flags people need to look for:
1. Up front fee to get information ($50)
2. Requirement to buy the product (smells like Ponzie Scheme)
3. Crazy claims (income from the beach, etc).
4. Chow “not permitted to tell” us about the product
When I was getting started, I had a hell of a time cutting through all of this crap.

I can only imagine Mark. You’re a very smart guy and a trusted friend and I am very happy to see that you have made it past this stage of the game and haven’t wasted any money. You’ve been doing amazing with your blog and doing such a wonderful job building up trusted friends. Congrats to your quick climb in the MMO chain, I think you’re going to go very far in this business.
I see that you have recently published an eBook, I have yet to read it, but will very soon… A great idea for your next eBook would be a book that covers the Do’s and Don’ts of a new Internet Marketer beginner. If you’d like to cover that topic, go for it… if not then I will.
LOL!!!

Hi Gary,
Thank-you so much for this post. There are so many MMO blogs selling these kinds of systems, I can’t imagine how many people have been hurt by these kinds of scams. The bottom line is, there is no system that you can follow that will instantly make you money. It just doesn’t work that way. As far as John Chow goes, I can only assume he’s sliding down a slippery slope. He started out trying to help people honestly to make money online, but now he is increasingly willing to sell out his integrity for profit. I guess he rationalizes it by thinking that he doesn’t do it all the time, he still gives good advice on his blog sometimes. However, he is walking down a dark path now, and this “Reverse Funnel System†is a new low. It’s sad really. He’ll make money, but he’s losing his soul in the process.
Date/Time: 5-12-2008 15:30:21 Comment #14134
Selling your soul to rock & roll…
You know, I admire his success, I really do. I just puzzles me why he’ll let certain posts through the cracks. John Chow is a very gifted individual and always way ahead of the technological times. You know, a few days ago I was trolling around at Wayback Machine and I ventured into his archives within the Wayback Machine and found the first record of his web site dating back August of 2000. The page was well ahead of its times.
It remained the same for about a year and then from there for five full years his domain name was “under construction.” Soon there after is when he launched the blog and for about a period of little over a year, you’d have some really good information that could help in the business of learning search engine marketing, making money online and reviews of many programs that helped people.

I can 100% say that Micro Niche finder has been amazing for me.
My only complaint is that I have a Mac so have to restart in Windows or work in Windows when I want to use it. I need to update my Mac OS so I can run OSX and Windows side by side.
Date/Time: 5-12-2008 15:34:28 Comment #14135
You know Forest, you might want to fire off a quick email to James about that. With Mac OS really starting to increase in popularity, I think it would be profitable for James to invest time into developing a version that works for Mac. But then again, he too knows that Mac has programs that allow Windows to run within… in fact I remember all the hype about how Apple is one of the fastest running Windows Vista systems… isn’t that ironic? LOL!!!

I hate these type of programs. I always say that these systems are just there for referral and affiliates. That is the only way to actually make money from the Funnel system.

Unfortunately, many believe that this type of product marketing is the only way to make money online. Sad but true… it seems like a lot of people just cling right on and promote products just like this day in and day out.

John Chow’s free e-book is probably all you need from his site…Get that and it sums up all his good posts….truthfully though, I unsubscribed from his blog but still find myself skimming through his latest posts every few days.

I totally agree… and yes indeed, May 27th 2007 was a very good day for MMO bloggers when John Chow published his eBook.

You’ve got 31 pages indexed in Google… I would recommend changing your permalink structure before you get too deep into having content indexed. I would recommend doing /post_name/ or post_name.php or .html
currently your permalink is ?p=# which cheats you from having good keywords in your URL.

i discovered johnchow not too long ago and have been reading his posts regularly. not sure if that will last long after reading his reverse funnel post review on sunday. seems like he’s only interested in $$, who cares if ur readers get shafted right?
Date/Time: 5-13-2008 01:28:19 Comment #14156
Everyone makes mistakes… I make a ton myself. I don’t wish anyone to stop reading someone’s blog just because of an error in their judgment. Ideally, it would be great to get the old John Chow back. That would be the ultimate win/win for all parties concerned.
I really enjoy his dot com pho video blog series and overall its a great blog and I think John Chow is a very entertaining and likable individual. He is doing a great job with molding this new and more personalized image of himself which involves video blogs of his close friends and family. All that is good stuff. It would be great if he acted more like a leader and lead his troops into victory rather than into doom though.
Seeing him accept a sponsored review that promoted the Reverse funnel system for $500 dollars just goes to show you that he wouldn’t give the shirt off his back for others but rather if put into a position where he was cold and stranded, he would takes yours from you instead. I put people head of me probably more than I should in life.

Garry,
I applaude you for speaking up against bloggers like John Chow. Now, I’ve never met the guy personally, but how his attitude comes across on his videos and blog just appalls me.
April 1st of this year (April Fools Day), he puts a link on one of his recommendations and a video prank that can’t be deleted pops up. I was at work when it happen with speakers on.
I watched him at an affliliate conference speak of himself with so much arrogance as being one of the “top bloggers in the world” that I thought I would puke.
And what was with his bathroom “sh*tting video?”
I hope he grows up soon.

John Chow likes controversy and unfortuantely by publicizing it here you are giving him more fuel for the fire. He is simply about making money and I guess his attitude is “buyer beware”.
As for “growing up” I wouldn’t hold my breath. John’s success is only encouraging him to be more outrageous. The best thing that you can do is ignore him.
