I Am Not Going To Advertise Ty Coughlin’s Reverse Funnel System On My Blog!
March 31st, 2008 by Garry Conn | 15 CommentsListen to this:
And now read this:
A few days ago, I sent out an email to all my email subscribers and also wrote a very kind heart to heart message regarding my advertisement policy.
Long story short, my policy is that I do not accept ads that point to affiliate based products commonly found in ClickBank or other related items such as that.
The most popular rejected advertisement request is this:

Ty Coughlin’s Reverse Funnel System. Current to date, I have rejected and refunded over 100 requests to advertise this product.

I don’t know anything about this product, I’ll admit that. But I don’t care. I am not advertising it. The simple fact alone of having over 100 people bombard me requesting to advertise their affiliation with Ty Coughlin Reverse Funnel System is enough reason for me to say, “I am not interested in this product!” and, “I am sure as hell not going to contribute towards promoting it!”
Is it a scam? I don’t know… and to be honest, I don’t really care. Products like this do not interest me, and I don’t blog about products like this. In fact, it more closely resembles the type of products I don’t like.
Need Examples of What Is Acceptable?
Just in case people are still not clear on what I am looking for in an advertiser for $5.95 here are a few examples:
Example A:
Example B:
Example C:
Note: Joel Comm is actually paying me for this ad. He owns this product!
Example D:
If you’re still not sure about the kind of advertisers I am looking for, I have taken it upon myself to create really cool game called, Garry’s Advertiser Concentration. Playing this game will help people better understand the kind of advertisers I am looking for.
I am provide, what I would seriously consider, some of the best advertising solutions within my niche. You can advertise a graphic on my blog for as little as $5.95 / month, which literally saves you hundreds of dollars.
If you haven’t noticed yet, I am extremely picky with who I accept into my ad system.
I want fresh blood. I want newbie bloggers. I want product developers. I want people who have written their own ebooks. I want people who want to promote legitimate things (that they own!). I want any advertisers who wants to take advantage of my offer while not exploiting my cheap prices by requesting to advertise trashy products, Internet scams or bogus products.

A Little Heart to Heart Message To My Readers Regarding Advertising On My Blog
March 29th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 14 CommentsAs many readers know, I have been working quite a bit on the advertisement system on my blog. I really feel like my advertisement system is very unique compared to others. Quite honestly, the system has been built for you in mind. My prices are dirt cheap for one reason and one reason alone, and that is to help my readers get some really good exposure at a very affordable price.
I sell banner ads on my blog for $5.95 per month. These banners are strategically positioned on the hottest spots on my blog. I even go so far as to provide a free banner graphic design for my readers who either don’t have a graphic or simply don’t have the ability to create one. Along with the banner advertisement service, I also provide contextual link advertisements and article submission services.
All of these services are designed for you. The prices are set very low so that no one feels like they are turned down. I want to provide an affordable service to any reader regardless of how much or how little money they have in their back pocket. It wasn’t very long ago when I first started blogging. I clearly remember how it was.
Back when I first started blogging, the bigger blogs would never interact with me, nor would they be nice and give me a break. In fact, most of the bigger blogs wouldn’t even give me the time of day. Quite honestly, that sucked. I can’t really put it any other way. And because of how I was treated back in the early days is why I am: a.) Extremely aggressive with my competitors and, b.) Why I am very kind to my readers and new bloggers who are struggling.
Today, my blog attracts the interest of really high profile people such as Joel Comm, Kris Jones, Andy Beard and Thor Schrock. I stir up a lot of controversy, I speak my mind and that seems to capture the attention of many people. But I am not all about publishing content that creates emotion among people, especially high profile figures. I am more about providing information that help bloggers who are in the early stages of things, just like I was not too long ago.
Consequently, the advertisement system I have created also follows these standards. My ad system is in place for my readers. With that being said, I have to set some rules and boundaries regarding my advertisement system. For some time now, I thought that maybe some behaviors would settle down over time, but I was wrong. So now, I have to address this publicly.
I do not provide an advertisement service for people who want to exploit my cheap pricing by signing up and advertising affiliate based products. Quite honestly, if I wanted to sell these same products, I would. The reason why I don’t is because most of them are scams or totally waste my reader’s time.
Time and time again, I continue to reject advertisement requests. My services are here for my readers and bloggers who just need a little break in life. To be forward with you, the pricing of my various advertisement services could very well be triple the prices reflected on my advertisement rate card.
My advertisement services are NOT for people who are looking for a loop hole in the system. Many marketers are attracted to my advertisement system for the simple fact that they know that they can generate a tons of money by advertising so cheaply on my blog. And that is NOT why I provide an advertisement service on my blog.
In closing of this announcement, I want to let everyone know that I have created a wonderful system that I only wish existed two years ago when I first started blogging. My goal is to cater to my readers and provide them with a very affordable and effective advertisement service.
The advertisement services provided on my personal blog is not going to make me rich. I have other blogs that focus on making huge amounts of money. My advertisement services are designed to help you gain more exposure and increase your readership so that one day you too can reap the benefits of running a successful blog.
Please do not sign up for any of my advertisement services if you intend to exploit my cheap prices by requesting to advertise a product or service that you don’t own. Do not sign up and request to point links to affiliate based products such as items found in ClickBank. This is a service that caters to the folks who need effective advertising for a price that is very reasonable for their budget.

March Income Report For Garry Conn dot Com
March 27th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 13 CommentsTime and time again, I watch and read the income reports from many other established blogs and I have mixed emotions about it. Part of me feels like posting your income report (if it’s good) can come across like its rubbing it in people’s faces.
I have talked to close to 50 people about this in email and instant message. People who were requesting that I post my reports. I explained to them how I felt about it and everyone I spoke to assured me that by posting my monthly income report it would be more of a motivational thing rather than an envy and jealousy thing.
So here goes, here is my March 2008 Income Report for Garry Conn dot Com. I am NOT including numbers derived from other sites or other ventures, just money generated from Garry Conn dot Com. This is my personal blog and I think it would be best to keep all the apples in one basket and the rest of the fruit in another.
I run and maintain quite a few very profitable web sites and also run a web site development and design business. The figures shown below were ONLY generated directly on Garry Conn dot Com. The total monthly income generated from Garry Conn dot Com equates to around 39% of my total income for the month. The remaining 61% was achieved on multiple sites and professional service contracts via Google Adsense, Web Design Service and Yahoo Publisher, Amazon Associates, Commission Junction and a few other programs.
190.45 Private Ads
146.03 AdSense
151.48 ClickBank
216.00 PepperJam
$2,750 Web Design
$3453.96 Monthly Total
Quite a large % of the total monthly income has been received with the newly added web design business. There is a lot of money to be made in this business.
I am currently looking to hire a few web designers on a per job basis. The deal is simple. You will complete the jobs I sell based off an agreed bid amount. Keep in mind, I focus on very HIGH QUALITY at LOW PRICES. I am not looking for someone who produces garbage. This job caters to the under the radar web designer who is looking to make some money with the skills acquired over the years.

How Many Button Banner Ads Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb?
February 27th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 10 CommentsI just find this very entertaining, enough so for me to actually waste about ten minutes of my life to write about it on my blog. What the hell is up with 125×125 button banner ads on blogs? They are a sickness, a disease, they’re Satan in a digital dot Com form. LOL!!! Seriously, it was just last month where I fell into the trap and had them all over my blog like it was going out of style. I caught myself though… I was looking into the light and said, “Dude… don’t look into the button banner ad light!”
Anyway, I might sound like I am joking and I obviously sound like I am writing this in fun and in good nature; but I am serious! What the hell is going on with 125×125 button banner ads. First off, these things were way popular in the mid 90’s and some how they have creeped back into style again, which is fine! There is nothing wrong with the actual 125×125 button banner.
But the problem is not in the banner itself but it how much it is being used. It’s almost like crack or some other widely abused drug. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a new show appear on A&E called Bannervention. I have seen blogs start to use these buttons, taking up a little bit of space on their sidebar… usually it would be typical to see only one button per row.
Today’s blogs are much different. I am seeing blogs proudly displaying their 125×125 button banner ads three wide which takes up a minimum of 325 pixels of space, assuming there is no additional CSS margins, padding or spacing involved. Heck, it is evident that new WordPress themes are being created just for the purpose of displaying these little square crack rock jewels.
So what’s next? We started with single wide… it wasn’t long after, bloggers decided to upgrade and live the white trash trailer life and live it up “Double Wide” and now I am starting to see blogs going “Triple Wide”, so what’s next… are we going to eventually make our sidebars wider than our web page body column?
What are your thoughts? Are sidebar advertisements getting a little bit out of control? Are you really making any freaking money with them? Do you think that the 125×125 button banner ads are getting out of control? Drop me a comment with your thoughts either way… I wan to hear what you have to say about this one for sure!
BTW: This is my last post until I get back from Disney World on March 3rd. Play nice… drop me tons of comments and I’ll see you all when I return. You can call and leave me a voice mail at 931-368-4120 with any questions for my blog. When I get back I’ll answer your questions live on my blog.

Dirt Cheap Blog Advertising
February 8th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 12 CommentsAs many of my readers have soon discovered, I fear not change. I change things on a moments notice. Without change you can’t scope out ways to improve. If after making a change and the effects go in the wrong direction, you can always change back. For the last week, I have been working silently behind the scenes on redesigning one of my other main sites, Blog The Internet.
This site gets quite a bit of daily traffic, around 2500 to 3000 unique visits which generate around 6000 daily page views, which equates to around 75,000 to 90,000 unique visits per month which generate around 180,000 page views. During holidays, such as last Christmas, it hits huge spikes in traffic. During Christmas just two months ago, Blog The Internet generated over 50,000 unique visits on Dec. 26th alone. During Black Friday and CyberMonday combined, 250,000 unique visits.
As the site gets rocking during holidays and also has a constant steady stream of traffic coming in… I really want more than that. The traffic I get to the site are what I call, “One Hit Wonders”. While this was formally planned, I really want more from the site than just being a connector site and today I unveiled a brand new Blog The Internet.

I am going to be blogging there more often now and over due time, I am slowly going to migrate my efforts over to that site and very very slowly phase out Garry Conn dot Com. Don’t worry folks, it will happen so slowly and so naturally, one day you’ll even ask yourself, “When did I stop reading Garry’s stuff on Garry Conn dot Com and start reading his stuff on Blog The Internet?”
Eventually, Blog The Internet will become my flagship site. I really enjoy everything that I have built here on Garry Conn dot Com, but some where deep inside, it kind of bothers me that I chose to use my personal name as the main blog and not something else. I have had Blog The Internet since Sept. of 2005 and its a very popular blog. It does extremely well in the search engines and has a ton of traffic coming in. Currently, it also has a PageRank of PR4.
My focus will be to start providing more rich content on that blog, just as you would find here on GCDC. Also, another huge focus I have is converting all these “One Hit Wonder” search engine traffic into “Regular Reader” traffic. If I do that, then almost instantly this site will have a huge explosive growth rate.
The reason why I have invested so much energy and time into Blog The Internet is the fact that it is established and gets a lot of traffic. The only problem I have with the site is that it doesn’t retain readership. Up until now, that hasn’t been a problem. But I realize that I can make a lot more money from a site that has regular readers versus a site that has a ton of one hit wonders.
The huge advantage I have now with the site is the fact that I have a constant flow of incoming traffic. My only challenge with Blog The Internet is converting visitors into life long readers.
Three nights ago, I wrote a post that explained how I feel that there is a huge demand to accommodate ad space for advertisers and that many of the leading blogs have back orders to fulfill. The new Blog The Internet will really be one of my first project sites that attempts to capitalize on this private ad sales market. Because Blog The Internet is new to the private sales market, I have priced out my ad space at an extremely affordable price. So, if you’re looking for dirt cheap blog advertising and want to get the MOST out of your advertising dollar… you might not want to pass up this huge opportunity to advertise your blog, business, product, service or website on Blog The Internet. It has tons of traffic and it will quickly start to retain a huge amount of readers. Here is a summary of the ad spots I have available: (you can also read the full advertisement page)

The Top Page Ad banner is a 468×60 size graphic that appears on the top of every page directly above the content on each page. This is one of the first things people see when they visit a page. There are only two rotation spots available for this section. The price for this ad unit is $50 per month. - Learn more.

The In Post Page Ad banner is a 300×250 size graphic that appears embedded in the content on each page. The position on this spot is very optimal as readers will be able to easily view your advertisement while reading the page content. The ad is positioned on the top right side and the content of the page wraps around it on the left. There are only ten rotation spots available for this section. The price for this ad unit is $35 per month. - Learn more.

The Top Left Page Ad banner is a 120×600 size graphic that appears on the top of every page directly to the left of the the content on each page. People read from left to right. The position of this ad optimal for the most exposure as readers will constantly be looking at it as the read every line of content on the page. There are only three rotation spots available for this section. The price for this ad unit is $50 per month. - Learn more.

The Sidebar Site Sponsor Ad is going to be my top seller. It is a 125×125 size graphic, has a very attractive price and delivers the most bang for your advertising dollar. The Sidebar Site Sponsor Ad has a very optimal position above the Top Fold of every page within the entire site and is located on the sidebar directly above the main site navigation menus. The cost is only $15 dollars per month. There is only 24 rotation spots available. - Learn more.
Drop me a comment and tell me what you think of the design. I designed the WordPress theme from scratch. If you are interested in taking advantage of these very affordable ad prices, visit my advertisement page and sign up.

My Wife Has New Advertisement Solutions For Garry Conn Dot Com
January 18th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 26 CommentsMy wife, Angie, is really NOT a blogger. She does her thing in a few parenting message boards and that is really about it. She has her home page set to Yahoo, hates Firefox and just doesn’t do the whole blog thing… however, she is supportive of me being a blogger and knows that I really enjoy doing what I do, and to be honest as long as the Google checks keep coming in, she really doesn’t give a rats ass if I blog, splog or play online poker. lol
With that being said, I had a rare moment tonight where she stood over my shoulder and I gave her a tour of my little galaxy within this huge universe of the blogosphere. I showed her many of the blogs that I like to read and visit and I showed her a lot of the popular blogs within my niche.
Making my rounds, we stumbled onto Jeremy Schoemaker’s site, ShoeMoney.com, and I proceeded to explain to her what Jeremy was all about and some of the things that he likes to do on his blog. A few minutes into giving Angie the tour of ShoeMoney.com, she saw this picture:
Her initial response was priceless…
She asks, “who the hell takes a picture of a box full of clothes? What the hell is this all about?” I explained to her that this is a picture of Jeremy holding up a box filled completely full of T-Shirts that people sent him.
“Why would anyone want to send that guy a T-Shirt, he looks weird?”, Angie continued on by saying, “Oh wait! I heard of this guy… that’s the shoe guy!!! this is that famous cross-dresser guy that did that popular YouTube video, called Shoes!”

[Watch Shoes - Remove the kids from the room, very bad language.]
At this point, I was laughing so hard I seriously couldn’t breath. I was truly laughing my ass off. It took me about five minutes to regain my composure and continue to explain to Angie why people mail Jeremy free T-shirts.
After wiping the tears of laughter from my eyes, I explained to her that people send in free T-shirt to ShoeMoney because every Friday, Jeremy takes a picture of himself with the shirt on. The shirt will have an advertisement which is basically a form of free advertising. He usually only wears the shirt once for the picture and then throws it in a box.
[example: CLICK HERE]
“What’s the point in that?”, she’s not happy with me at this moment because she feels like I was making fun of her during my laughing episode. I further explained to her more about who Jeremy is and why I found it just utterly hilarious that she linked him up as being the guy who performed in the video Shoes.
Maybe it’s just me… but I kind of feel like if any of my readers were in the same boat, this situation would have struck a funny bone too! OMG I couldn’t stop laughing.
With all that being said, Angie finally “got it” and instructed me to announce the following new programs that GCDC has to offer:
New GCDC Advertisement Program
(Direct From Garry’s Wife)
GCDC will now have the following advertisement programs in effect immediately:
- NoteBook (COMPUTER) November - Mail Garry Conn a brand new notebook and he’ll take a picture of himself holding it. The notebook will be turned on and the browser will be opened up FULL SCREEN to your website for free advertising on GCDC. Garry will promise NOT to throw the notebook in a box after the photo shoot.
* edit, thanks for the correction, HM3!
** Apple Macbook Air preferred. - Pay My Mortgage Monday - On the very last Monday of every month if you pay Garry and Angie’s mortgage, Garry will then take a picture of the invoice marked as paid with your business card clipped to it. It is suggested to make sure that your business card has your website address on it. As a bonus Garry will Digg and Stumble his own post to assure that you get the Ultimate advertising experience.
- Underwear Wednesday - Send Garry Conn underwear and he’ll take a picture with them on. You can advertise your message on the butt. Limited time only get two cheeks for the price of one. (This is a premium ad service - not free - Price $125,000 USD)
* Note: Thongs are not accepted nor are they an efficient form of marketing as your ad space is VERY LIMITED.
* * Please make sure the underwear you send is NOT USED. Photoshopping out brown marks will cost you an extra $50,000 USD.
As you can see, these are very effective forms of advertising. You can send all materials and money direct to Garry Conn. No refunds are accepted, all materials sent in will be kept, and Angie as well as myself will promise to laugh our ass off on the way to the bank.
