The Amazing, Compelling and Thrilling Challenge of Making Money Online
March 20th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 9 CommentsMaking money online - These three words grouped together form a phrase powerful enough to send lightening bolts straight down the main pipeline of the blogosphere. It is true. You mention the phrase make money online and you’ll create dreams and give hope the the most poverty-stricken and put chills down the backs of the super powerful and wealthy.
It is a term that is commonly associated with free ride, instant income, easy money, infinite wealth and quit your day job. Somehow people have removed hard work, self motivation, personal sacrifice and similar associations from the bone chilling and dream inspiring phrase. Why is that?
People spend countless hours, days, weeks, months and years in search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It was just recently when I began to see a brighter light. This newly found light was more of a realization of the fact that people who have been searching long and hard for that pot of gold actually have the pot directly in front of them.
Tonight was an unusual night for me. Not so much that my routine was different, but more so for the level of conversation I had among four different people. I spoke with a certified flight instructor, an engineer for Texas Instruments, a project manager for I believe a software development company and a post production television show editor based out of L.A.
These people have two things in common. One they all have very good to high profile jobs. Secondly, they all share a common interest in the business of making money online. To me, this is the pot of gold that is directly in front of them and this is one of quite a few ways that people can make money online.
These are very interesting people. While making money online for these folks might or might not be a necessity, it is still a personal challenge for them. So how do you do it? How do you make money online?
And in answering this question, I’d like to get to know you better? What kind of job do you do? What are the things that take place in your day to day life? The above mentioned engineer for Texas Instruments is across seas right now in Singapore. To me, learning more about that guy is interesting. Having pictures of the trip and events that took place during the events is interesting.
What about the certified flight instructor? Man… that just reeks money on the Internet. If cards were played correctly this individual could host and harbor one of the greatest community driven flight instructor group writing projects online. I vision a site packed full of brilliant and high quality photos, amazing online videos and sellable flight instruction materials such as eBooks, study guides and video tutorials.
So the key lesson I want to you learn in this article is this: Consider what you do for a living, consider who you are as a person and what things that you do in your day to day life that makes you interesting and appealing. Some may say, “well I am just a stay at home mom, what is interesting about that?” My response: Everything! How do you do that? What are your thoughts when you take your kids to the doctor and the doc tries to sell you on giving your kid some kind of funky and newly FDA approved injection? How do you find deals on clothes with a limited budget? What was your opinion and review of the store you shopped at? How would you rate your level of customer satisfaction? Why do you take the kids to Subway instead of McDonalds? Why do you prefer signing your kids up for baseball and not soccer or football? Etc….
For stay at home parents, there is money growing on trees right in your backyard, at your local stores, at your doctor’s office and in your minivan on the way to soccer practice. People want to get to know you, people want advice, people want to cling to others for suggestions and trust.
For career working individuals, your job is very interesting. Taking pictures and talking about the things you do in your day to day business operations are appealing to others. From there you can position yourself into level to where you can sell you own divisions of products and services that you’d do for your own business.
In any and all cases, building up your readership is very important. That is the ultimate way to make money. Building the number of people that visit your blog on a day to day basis is powerful and can lead to wonderful things such as private ad sales and product and service reviews. People will pay good money to have their information broadcasted on sites that cater to thousands of people.
And to be honest… just being yourself and being who you are and talking to people about your day to day stuff very well might get you there. Don’t forget about marketing and promoting. You need to spend just as much time if not more towards marketing your blog.
Your blog address needs to be known. Tell everyone about it, friends and family, write it on the wall of a public bathroom. Spray paint the URL on your roof for Google Earth to capture it. LOL… marketing is everything and everything is marketing.
The Amazing, Compelling and Thrilling Challenge of Making Money Online is all about being yourself and representing things that interest you with an intense love and passion coupled with equal if not more drive and energy towards mass promotion and marketing.

How To Use Micro Niche Finder Correctly
March 11th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 21 CommentsIan Parks from The Random Forest called in a question today and wanted some thoughts on how to utilize Micro Niche Finder. For those who don’t know about Micro Niche Finder, this is a program that will allow you to enter in various search terms into the program and it will return information that will let you know how much competition there is and how many monthly searches are received in Google for the terms. For a blogger, Internet Marketer, and publisher, this is a program sent down straight from the Heavens.
The problem with Micro Niche Finder is the fact that if put into the wrong hands, terrible results will be achieved. For me, I use Micro Niche Finder as a way to figure out the things that I can write about that will give me the most results from the time invested in writing content. I am a full time professional blogger and a very creative speed writer. You can put any object in front of me and I’ll produce a very attractive, appealing, entertaining, informative and useful post within minutes. I manage more blogs than I can count. For me, my business is in creating uniquely written content all from scratch and getting the most BANG out of it. Micro Niche Finder is a tool that effectively allows me to know what I should blog about and when I should blog about it.
If you use programs like Micro Niche Finder to build splogs or MFA pages (made for Adsense) then you will quickly discover a very poor performance from these sites. Google is very smart and they are very keen on sniffing out low quality sites or pages that are built for the purpose of running Adsense ads on them and or affiliate links. Google wants quality, Google wants content that is uniquely written and things that other people would feel naturally compelled to link to (Thus the philosophy behind PageRank).
If you utilize Micro Niche Finder like me, it can become a very useful tool in your business of blogging and producing content. If you choose to be shady, and use the program for the purpose of building junk pages and contributing to the noise of the blogosphere, you’ll get burned. It’s that simple.
If you choose to purchase Micro Niche Finder, I stand by my long term opinion and feel that it is a wonderful investment; however, I also stand strong on stating that if you don’t use the program in a way that will help you write content that actually educate, entertain or properly inform people, then it will be useless as its just a matter of time before Google catches up to you and shuns your bogus and bunk content.
The common misconception in this business is the escape of hard work. My ever becoming friend, Joel Comm, touched on this topic a yesterday! You have to work! The business of making money online is like any other job or business… you have to work and in many ways work twice as hard as you would normally work any other job. I work at times 16 hours per day and in many cases 7 days a week.

Make Money Online With A Dead Guy
March 5th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 46 CommentsIt is very sad to see that there is a market for exploiting the common ignorance as well as the stupidity of people who want to make money online. Why did I title this post, Make Money Online With A Dead Guy? The reason is simple, if people actually believe that they can learn how to make money online from a child, they’ll believe anything, including that they can make money online with a dead guy.
The business of making money online is not what you’ve been lead to believe. If you fall into the category of being a person with an interest of making money online, you’re simply part of the element that allows the 1% of people who do make money online to make money online. In other words, with your hopes and dreams of learning how to make money online, you create a business that allows for people to exploit your ignorance in this interest.
Am I calling you stupid? No! However, I am asking that people who are inspired to learn how to make money online try to wise up a little bit. The business of making money online is mainly a group of people who try to convince people who want to learn into buying fake or bull shit products that claim to teach you how to make money online.
Every site I visit is identical, but carries a different web site name. Most all web sites carry the trend. They have a long and never ending page that scrolls for miles and miles and miles, packed full of big black text highlighted in yellow, coupled with about 100 testimonials of people who say how much this product has changed their life within 30 minutes. It’s all the same crap.
Blogs also follow the same trend. Two column design, larger header, directly below the header is a huge email form from Aweber that collects email addresses from the ignorant inspired person who wants to make money. The top of the sidebar is bombarded with 125×125 button banners that advertise products that claim how they can change your life and offer you financial freedom.

Make money online with a 13 year old. Come on… whatever! People actually believe this garbage? Has anyone invested the time to read into the content on this blog? Like hell a 13 year old (now supposedly 14 years old) is writing this content. Sure, i guess it is possible, but NOT likely. Get real.
Even still, let’s just play the game and assume that a 14 year old kid is really writing content on the blog, if you are an active reader of this blog, is it helping you? You must be really scoring all the cash now after learning how to do it from a 14 year old kid.
Make Money Online With A Dead Guy! Learn how to make money online with a guy that has been dead and buried for over 25 years.

If you see a web site that looks like the above screen shot, run away and don’t look back. Sites like this make you think they are selling products that they have developed while in reality they are nothing but affiliate based products that give them a commission off the sale.
The reason why they collect your email address is the simple fact that most people aren’t going to invest the time into unsubscribing and eventually they’ll send an email that will capture your attention enough to create a sale. Of course, when you make the purchase, it won’t help you one bit, but it will help them in their venture of making money online.

My Thoughts and Ideas On How You Can Make Money Online
Here are some random thoughts that will help you in your ventures of making money online. Most of these are things I am doing right now and are helping with paying the bills.
- Web Design: So many of you bloggers out there invest countless hours into learning how to design WordPress themes. Take what you have learned and open a local web design business that caters to residents in your town.
- Search Engine Consultation: Learning about blogging and WordPress, SEO and SEM almost go hand in hand with successful blogging. Most bloggers who are tied into the MMO niche are really excellent with SEO and SEM skills. Once again, provide this service locally packed up with web design services for local residents and business owners in your town.
- Choose a Niche and Stick With It: Choose a niche and create a blog and totally stick to it. It takes a lot of self motivation, drive and smart decisions to run a successful niche blog.
- Don’t focus on trying to make money: Attempting to make money with this niche blog during its early stages of development doesn’t work very well. Money can’t be made with out traffic. You can’t get traffic unless you have readers and you can’t have readers if your blog isn’t attractive and packed with content that is interesting to people.
All in all, just have common sense. Recognize the few elements that are needed to make money online. Traffic and a Product. That is really all it boils down to. Sure, you can waste money on eBooks that promise you the world. But when it’s all said and done, no eBook will give you traffic. Without traffic to your blog, your blog is dead.
Traffic happens to be the single most difficult thing to attain. Last year, I came up with the idea of mass producing a ton of blogs where each blog would score just a few bucks per day. While that continues to work well for me, it’s not really anything I feel proud about. I want more than that and have been slowly moving away from this type of Internet business. My newer projects have been developing full blown niche blogs where I build up my readership, Internet authority and PageRank.
I am much happier with building these type of blogs. Sites like The Airplane Blog and The Optical Blog are sites that I am truly proud of and invest time into developing them. Made for Money (MFM) sites are kinda lame. Granted, they do work, but there really isn’t any value to them.
I can tell you this, my MFM blogs have helped me a lot over 2007 and they continue to generate quite a bit of money for me so far in 2008. This income has been allowing me to invest time into developing sites that I truly enjoy owning. Taking my knowledge and skills with this business and helping people locally has helped quite a bit too in paying the bills.
My advice to you would be to back away from the whole MMO trend and just be yourself. Take what you know and apply it to a blog with a topic that you’re passionate about. Target traffic who have no idea about programs such as Kontera, Bidvertiser, ClickBank, etc. In due time when you develop a good level of authority, you can start to slowly introduce trusted products to your readers which can help you make money.
Another option is to get off your ass and start creating and promoting various advertisement packages on your site. There are thousands of advertisers who would be willing to pay you to advertise their business, product and service. It’s your job to contact them and be persistent. You can contact people yourself or hire someone to do it for you by paying them a percentage of the sale.
Make Money Online With A Dead Guy! Don’t believe everything you read or see. Many of the sites you visit are fake. They are posers, noobs, idiots and fakes who pretend to be someone they’re not.
With the sheer volume of other idiots in this world, people are able to make a little bit of money, some even make a lot. Ask yourself this question, where do you fall into place with this business of making money online?
Do you want to be yourself and provide an awesome blog that actually help people and eventually could gain the authority and popularity to where you could successfully sell products and provide private advertising?
Or do you want to create a web site or blog that exploits the fact that there are dumbassses in the world that believe they can learn how to make money online from a dead guy?
Or, perhaps you are the person who believes that you can learn how to make money online from a child and read these sites and buy all these bogus products?
Drop a comment, share your thoughts… call me at (931) 368-4120, phone lines are open 24/7. I am done blogging on GCDC for a few days. This post coupled with the comments should keep us all busy for a few days.

How Many eBook Downloads Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb?
February 27th, 2008 by Garry Conn | 19 CommentsFor once, I am just going to throw down and speak my mind. I have a new series of posts that I’ll be publishing over the span of whatever… called, “How many FILL IN WORD Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb?”
The reason why I am doing this series is simple. I am totally fed up and sick of all the freaking garbage, noise and pollution that is being published on many of the blogs that supposedly are intended to help people learn about making money online, Internet and search engine marketing, search engine optimization and business blogging strategies.
So many blog authors, and I literally mean a countless number of them, are projecting themselves to be experts in the business while they fail to find success in the propaganda they write about and offer to others. It’s stupid. It is totally misleading, misguiding and it needs to stop. People turn to the Internet to seek online careers for very valid and important reasons and when uneducated and inspiring individuals have to be subjected to garbage, it honestly kind of aggravates me.
So anyway, I wrote this post immediately after I received an email from someone asking me to review their brand new e-book that promises to change the world. So knowing in advanced, that this eBook would totally suck, I downloaded it anyway to get confirmation.
The question remains, “How Many eBook Downloads Does It Take To Screw In A Light Bulb?” In other words to paraphrase this question in less sarcastic terms: How many more eBook downloads does it take before people stop the madness of pretending to be experts and releasing garbage into the blogosphere?
Once again, I downloaded yet another eBook that makes me want to puke.Yet another eBook that offers nothing but noise, propaganda, misleading information and is packed full of affiliate links that point to even more mindless bullshit eBooks that waste millions of dollars from people who only want to learn the business of making money online.
This whole eBook thing is a joke. And that is partly the reason why I trashed my eBook in the works a few months ago. I was more than half way done with my eBook and I quickly found that almost half of the book provided more education on what NOT to look for in an eBook than what it was originally intended for.
I don’t know… I might start a new eBook and title it, “How Many Light Bulbs Does It Take To Shine On A Fake” or “How Many Light Bulbs Does It Take To Get A Bright Idea” You know, the things of that nature… which are typical of the things I tend to rant about time to time on my blog.
For those out there who develop strategies, bullshit products and scams who rob from the uneducated and ignorant, it’s time that you stop. It is time that you pack your bags and get off the blogosphere. This is something that has bothered me more and more over time. As the months go by, I continue to bite my tongue, I continue to be respectful and continue to hold my thoughts and keep them reserved to myself.
But I must say this… it is getting very difficult to do so. It is getting even more difficult to keep myself from dropping “Call Out Bombs” on all the idiots out here in the blogosphere who are claimed to be experts but in reality are fakes. I can’t stand people who mislead others. I don’t like people who trick others and I sure as hell can’t stand people that lie.
I very well might say screw it and start calling out some names of the people who reside in what I call the StupidoSphere. So let this be a warning to anyone who sends me an email, drops me an IM or visits my blog: If you’re a fake, and pretend to be someone you’re not, take this as an official warning that I very well may blog about you and call you out on your bluff and publicly display you as the true fake and liar you are.
Have a nice day! LOL!!!
