Technorati Favorites Exchange Harness The Power!
With all the fun and excitement generated with MyBlogLog.com I think people might be forgetting about Technorati (just a little bit). You might not forget about Technorati, but here is a refresher on what Technorati is.
Technorati indexes the live web within minutes, providing its users with up-to-date information about the topics and authors they care about. Technorati is the authority on what is happening right now on the live web including the blogosphere.
Technorati lets you track online conversations about you, your sites, your company, and your products. We connect you to the most influential weblog authors, drive targeted traffic to your sites, and allow you to connect to the millions of other individuals in the blogger community.
A Technorati Ranking relates to the number of sources that point to a particular weblog relative to other weblogs. The more sources referencing a weblog, the higher the Technorati ranking. The Technorati Ranking for a blog is displaying in URL Search results, Blog search results, and is displayed in the account profile for all claimed blogs.
How do you harness all this Technorati Power? How do you get your blog to pull up first in Technorati’s Search Engine Results Page (TSERP)? There are millions of people that use Technorati just like they use Google. The answer to being successful with Technorati is adding other sites to your Technorati Favorites and other sites doing the same for you!

Garry,
I came across your site from some of my friends blogs. It is one of my blogs resolutions to branch out and find other blogs I like. I have found an interest in yours. I have added you to my Technorati favorites, as well as Google Reader. Do you have any tips how I can branch out and use Technorati more efficiently?

Eches,
You don’t see a lot of traffic from Technorati because you need to have people add your site to their favorites which is the Google equivalent of Backlinks…. and actually, it does help towards Google Backlinks!
The main purpose again is increasing backlinks to your site. Eches, you should create a post just like JohnTP, Madhur, and myself… asking people to exchange with you. In the long run it helps.
Also, keep in mind, there there really isn’t anything you can do to get instant results. Internet site growth typically happens like grass growing in your yard but slower.
The important thing you can do is plant the correct grass seeds… (first impressions, controlling your content, controlling your links) then by summer when the grass is dying in your neighbors yard, your grass is bright, green and healthy.
Growing a site takes time… a lot of prep work, and hard work… but if you do things right the first time, you will see your efforts pay off in the months and years to come.
Stay positive and let me know if you need any help.
