Terrible Luck With WordPress Themes
Grrr… I am truly having a heck of a time making a new WordPress theme for my site. I get it to look wonderful in FireFox, but then it looks terrible in Internet Explorer.
Much respect should go out to WordPress theme designers. Small Potato is one for example. I find that his work is awesome.
I might very well just say forgot it and use one of his themes. Many people say that my current theme is fine, but… once again, I have hacked it up and tweaked and added many things to it and it is buggy.
I think I need a pep talk! “Come on Garry… you can do it!!!”
Just a brief update on the blog also… I am going to be beefing up the volume quite a bit on the blog. To be honest, I only post one article per day to assure it gets some comments. But, I really need to push volume up so that I can get more pages in the search engines.
Traffic is down slightly, and I think having that added push in volume will help. Last month I had a great reaction when I kinda adjusted how I write a little bit. My posts always tend to be long and I got the idea of writing shorter posts and did so for a few weeks and then I kinda got back into writing longer ones.
So, in the next few weeks…
One… Hopefully a new theme.
Two… starting like NOW, much more shorter and quicker to the point posts.
Three… more volume.

Hey Garry,
I know you are like me when it comes to constantly tweak a WordPress to death and then just decide to go hunting for a new design.
I’ve found some great themes with Jauhari. Looking forward to your new posts man!

I haven’t been commenting here but I still follow your feed religiously!
I don’t know know the guy but he answered very quickly for a couple of questions I had for him. Half the fun in blogging for me is tinkering with WordPress to get the most out of it! LOL

It’s always hell trying to get one theme to look perfect in FF and IE. If only IE understood CSS the right way, we wouldn’t have all these problems! Instead we spend years learning how to write incorrectly so that IE understands it, only to have FF hate it!

Hey Gary keep up the great job and of course you can do it.
I have been working on a few of my blog themes and found the same type thing when I went from Firefox to Internet Explorer. It was really Ugly and I almost went back to my previous theme, but I didn’t.
I played around with it for two days until I realized it was the font settings in the ccs file. Firefox handled them fine but Internet explorer didn’t like them and made them huge.
Once I figured out em, px and pt I was on my way.

I have found myself skipping over some peoples long posts at times but still like writing them on my blog.
