Thanks For Mentioning Garry Conn

Thank You

A special thanks to everyone who has been mentioning Garry Conn on their blogs. I really love using Google’s “Advanced Search” as well as Google Alerts. I can trackback pretty much anything anyone says about me or my site. Special thanks to CyberCoder for pointing out to me that I should use these amazing Google features.  It really makes me happy to see so many people take the time to sit down and write a post on their blog telling their readers about me and my site. To me, that is worth more than gold. That is the true difference with blog linking memes. These links that point to my site are real. They have meaning and these authors have mentioned me not for the purpose of trying to increase their PageRank or number of backlinks. Links like these go a long way for both myself as well as the author who links to me.

Here are a few things that Google has outlined:

  • Have other relevant sites link to yours.
  • Make sure all the sites that should know about your pages are aware your site is online.
  • Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).
  • Make pages for users, not for search engines.
  • Don’t participate in link schemes designed to increase your site’s ranking or PageRank.

So, when a blog author takes time out of their day to write a post about me, that is way too cool! That is one of the things a blog needs to grow. When a blog author writes content that is useful or informative to other people, this is also content that Google and other search engines favor.

Having all that said, I want to recognize some of the blog authors who have wrote about me or my site. Take a look a their pages and see if there is any articles, information or posts that you like. If these are sites that you like, you can subscribe to their feeds to make it easier to stay current with the content they publish.

A special link goes out to my Top Contributor, HomeMom3. She emailed me this morning and asked me if I could help her out by mentioning her site today. She wrote a post for the Hope for the Warriors.

“The Hope For The Warriors mission is to enhance quality of life for US Service Members and their families nationwide who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty.”
