The eBook may be worth the $9.95, I paid full price for his Adsense Code book and liked it, however, even with the changes to this order page it is misleading and there is no way I would use that order page.
If you do not change the “Top One Percent Report – Free Issue” Quantity to zero you are signing up for a $29.95 subscription after one free month. You have to call to cancel, and chances are most people are not going to realize this is what they signed up for until they have been charged at least once for the $29.95.
I personally think this is wrong. Joel usually has good products and I see no reason that he has to lower himself to this type of misdirect to make a buck.
I just wanted the book for $9.95, but now I do not trust this order form.

First let me clarify something, the book is worth well more than $9.95. If I was where I was at years ago today… and had the opportunity to purchase this book through the referral of a trusted friend, I would.
Putting my cards on the table, if I was where I was at years ago and after purchasing the book and seeing the wealth of information inside, I would honestly feel that I had scored the best deal of the year for the fact that I would be thinking about how much I would have been willing to pay for it.
This book will walk anyone from kindergarten all the way to college on a crash course study about Google AdSense and how to make a lot of money with the program. If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t have put my name on it giving it my stamp of approval.
So it seems that we have some folks complaining about the order page. We’ve even my favorite buddy, Mark Wielgus, spreading rumors saying that the AdSense Secrets Fourth Edition is a scam. That spells link bait all over it and his track record proves just that – always looking for link bait.
So let’s see here… Joel gives specific instructions on how to cancel a monthly subscription if the particular customer isn’t interested. Yet you feel you are being misdirected? Why? Are these simple to follow instructions not clear? If you don’t want… call him!!! Who else do you know in this business that will accept a direct phone call from the general public? Granted you might get connected with a receptionist or someone who would handle the cancellation…
But come on… we’re not dealing with Dell, we’re dealing with Joel Comm who lives right here in the USA in Loveland Colorado. He is just an email, IM or phone call away.
I think people are twisting the words of a very open channel of communication that Joel has offered.
I spoke to Joel this afternoon about this exact situation knowing in advanced that a lot of feathers would be ruffled for those who have been subjected to Mark Wielgus link bait propaganda. I asked him specifically what happens after you place your order for $9.95? What is found on the next screen?
“you get billed only for the ebook… you get a free copy of the newsletter with very explicit cancellation instructions and then you decide to keep it because it is awesome! If they hit cancel in the cart they can buy the ebook on its own”
Let’s Put Things Into Perspective
People have choices in life and in the business of making money online you have GOT to gain knowledge and learn this business as quickly and as accurately as possible.
I have as many already know, a huge bone to pick with Mark Wielgus. He is an individual who cares only for himself, has absolutely no knowledge in this business, has no level of success and is acting like a teacher when he is only a learner himself.
Mark Wielgus wants to show people how to make money online. Consequently, Joel Comm wants and has successfully been doing the same thing for many years.
For anyone reading this post and now reading these comments, I leave the choice to you. Who do you want to put your trust into learning how to make money online?

By the way, the odds of someone getting billed for issue #2 after having already received #1 and being provided with very clear cancellation instructions is very small.
I’m guessing our cancel rate will be very low due to the quality of our publication.

I plan on grabbing a copy of this Moday. I don’t know Joel personally, but obviously he’s done very well with his business. However, I have to agree that I don’t agree with the tactic in regards to the aditional “service” or whatever it is.
It’s not a “scam,” but it is a bit misleading in my opinion. Obviously if you read every word you’ll understand that there is a monthly fee for a different service and I’m sure that service is valuable as well, but the main pitch is for the report and the additional service isn’t made very clear at all.
I get tired of everyone calling this type of thing a “scam” because it’s not, but Joel, by doing this, can you honestly say you have your customers best interest in mind?
I’m not trying to start another fire here. I respect Joel and what he’s acheived. Just adding my 2 cents in regards to the tactic used here.

I would have done things a little differently, but I’m barely at 5 figures a month too. There’s no scam here and it looks like things have been blown way out of proportion.
Garry you say this is the best ebook but haven’t said why except for that you wish you had it years ago. Can you give any examples or sample pages on what makes it the best compared with the 100s I can get from a book store?
Josh… I am no better than Mark in many ways… he believes in what he believes in… and I believe in what I believe in. We’re both two very intense and passionate people.
The truth of the matter is this… I was delayed in promoting Joel’s eBook and then Mark did the post he did and I was like… oh great! Now how the hell am I am going to promote this thing now?
So what does Garry do? He goes to the extreme and bombards his own comments packed full of YouTube videos and arrows and daggers. LOL!!!
I am just passionate about the things I believe in and when I see others attack the things that I am passionate about, it naturally upsets me, just like it would upset any one else.
I think I need to learn to chill and just be more humble.

Joel, I have a lot of respect for your knowledge, and I appreciate a lot of what you have done. However…

It is obvious that the lack of clarity is done on purpose. I am not taking anything away from the quality of any of the products, just the method in which you choose to setup the order page.

just a general suggestion, I give it because I’m struggling if I should buy this ebook or not. What makes me struggle isn’t the price (fortunely I have 10 bucks set appart to invest in my online business) but what scares me is the huge number of pages. IMO it’s to much !
Is there really need of all these pages ? I’m afraid to buy the ebook and then never finish to read it: i hate to read on the screen (my eyes get tired very fast) and I’m not going to print 235 pages, not mentioning how much time it takes to read such number of pages. Ebooks should be reduced to the essentials.
Back to the advise I wanted to share: it isn’t convincing enough to say something like “BEST eBook with the latest tips and tricks on how to make money with Google AdSense” or “when I do promote products on my blog, you can count on them being the real deal” because on this way I have to trust YOU.
BUT if you provide a summary of the contents, or an example of tecnique explained in the ebook and that you have applied and brought you great results, this will move the focus of the customer from trusting you to objective things like results or effective content of the ebook. Even Japanese Ice cream [in the past you were not accepting comments from people not using his name, but these is another story

Hey Garry. I too respect joel and have promoted his products in the past. But thats not the way his order page looked at the outset. I dont know why he would state the “odds” of being billed for number 2 is likely to be small. Its either you’re going to be billed or not be billed, where are the odds in that?
Things get blown out of proportion where the communication is unclear. If you’re going to sell a monthly subscription then state thats what you’re going to sell, if you’re selling a book state thats what you’re going to be selling. vice versa. Im sure cancellations will be small. And I have no doubt that that both products are worth as stated. But geezman be clear about what the objectives are. Dont confuse people into doing things just ask for it and you’ll get it, why the hoop juming over a frikken 9 buck e-book

Not trying to cause a fight, I was just asking for a little exerpt, fact or sample pages rather than ‘this is the best, this is all you need’ … – all ebooks for sale have affiliate people saying that. Every review on this ebook is pretty much what you are saying but have no actual details or facts, this just , for me, makes it get lumped with all other worthless ebooks.

For $9.95 you can’t go wrong. The book is very well written. Included in the pages are very detailed pictures, visual examples and detailed scenarios and walk thrus. This eBook really is what I would consider the Google AdSense Play Book.
This pretty much says it all, Joel realized the error and Apologized. The new order page is much better, Buy Now!.
That is all it takes to put him back on my trusted list!

two months no visit to this place and I come back and see loads of ads and hard to read content due to in content links, text ads, more ads and some ads. maybe that is why google did not increase your PR to 5 or 6 garry

Hmm… the ads are all private ads from bloggers who read the blog. There is no context links from programs such as Amazon Context Link, or Kontera Context links… the text links that you see on the page, once again… link to sites from the folks that read my blog, links that promote products in PepperJam or links that promote my other blogs.
If you feel that my blog isn’t a good resource of information because of that, you know how to unsubscribe and you know where the back button is.
As you said, it has been two months since your last visit. In that two months time I have made around $500 bucks. So, unless you’re going to pay me $500 dollars every time you visit once every two months, then the ads and everything you see here will stay.
This is my business, this is how I make money… over 85% of my total traffic come direct from search engines. Only 15% of my traffic are from regular readers.
I would be STUPID not to monetize this site. However, I do it with class and use the authority, traffic, etc… built from this blog to help others while I make money
I could simply default and do what other MMO bloggers do by splashing affiliate banners and links all over the place and contributing to the funk of bogus eBook and bull crap products and EASILY make over $2000 per month… but I don’t.
So dude… don’t bitch at me about my blog not being a good resource. You make it what you want it to be, and the exit door is just a click of a button away.
Sorry man… I take a ton of pride in my blog, the design and the quality within. My PageRank isn’t based off my all “NO-FOLLOW” ads. My blog is a PR4 accordingly and if it becomes a PR5 or a PR6 then cool. I’ll take a PR4 any day.
