Wordpress 2.1 Ella
Saturday, January 27th, 2007
By Garry Conn
Wordpress.org announced the release of their latest version of the popular open source blog publishing software, Wordpress Version 2.1 Ella. You can read their official statement about their release and learn what to expect from the new version. I tend to follow the latest news and gossip about Wordpress and with this release has come a wave of discussion about it. Google News is providing excellent coverage on the latest discussion within our blogosphere. There seems to be some controversy in the blogosphere regarding the installation of the new version and whether or not existing Plugins will function or not. Kyle Eslick, the owner and author of, Kyle’s Cove, has published two separate articles concerning this. Kyle, mentions that it is important to check the compatibility of your Wordpress Plugins. To learn more about the compatibility of your Plugins I would recommend that you read the article. Kyle does a great job helping the bloggers that have concerns with Wordpress 2.1 and is being very proactive at helping reduce stress levels in the blogosphere.

Saturday, January 27th, 2007
By Garry Conn
It is important to establish a line of trust with your readers. Providing something different and unique will gain the interest from viewers who stumble into your site. However, trust is what will convert a first time viewer into a life time repeat visitor.
Jason Drone, the author and owner of JDsBlog has released some very interesting articles that give all of us in the blogosphere a little reality check. Jason reminds us of Microsoft Services failure and points out that trust is vital in business. Additionally, if you are one who is attempting to develop and run a successful Online business, it pays to be different. In fact, as Jason puts it, “Be Different or Be Damned” and reminds us that there are no written rules on how to become successful. Jason shares a wonderful success story of how a small 19 employee photo sharing service became a huge ($10 Million) success.

How Much Is My Blog Worth?
Saturday, January 27th, 2007
By Garry Conn
How much is your blog worth? A popular question among bloggers in the blogosphere. Every site has a dollar value to it. The question is how much?
Dane Carlson, the owner of a site titled, “Business Opportunities Weblog”, posted a very entertaining tool that will give you an instant appraisal on your blog. The tool computes and displays your blog’s worth using a very creative link to dollar ratio formula. I ran the appraisal on my site and it is worth $14,113.50. That’s not bad for a blog that has been up and running less than a month on a re-launch. Learn more…

My blog is worth $14,113.50.

You could also have this be a mailing list issue, and send out E-mails once a week or something (although this way people visit your website).
Good stuff!
