The Ultimate dot Com Christmas Lights
This is truly insane. I am honestly very impressed, otherwise I wouldn’t blog about it. I found this on ShoeMoney. A friend of Jeremy has set up the ultimate Christmas light display where you (the viewer) can control the lights by turning them on and off while watching it live on a web cam. In addition to having the ability to turn the lights on and off you can also inflate and deflate the various Christmas inflatables in the yard. This is totally awesome. View the web page here.
What will people think of next? This has been created for an amazing cause that I’ll quote direct from the site:
“My kids have an autoimmune disorder called Celiac Disease. So please consider adding to the over $20,000 that has been raised for the Univ of Maryland Center for Celiac Research. And Bah-Humbug to this Denver radio station that would not ante up for charity after implying they would.”
So take a moment to check out the wonderful site… have fun turning the lights on and off and then be sure to donate some money and show a little support.
Drop me a comment and tell me how much fun you had controlling the lights from your computer!

At first I thought it was a joke. But then I used the instant messenger and saw my text message appear in one of the cams. Then I was like, ok… there is no way I can control the lights.. and I proceeded to shut down some lights and sure enough, they shut down. I am floored.. this is totally amazing. How in the world did you do all that. I’ll get a chance in a bit to go back and read the full page later, but for the time being… Wow!!
Also hope to see that you raise the proper amount of money needed.

This guy has been doing it for years: http://www.drivemeinsane.com/
except its in his house, he adds stuff all the time, like curtains, lights etc. You can rotate the cams as well. He had plans for sprinklers and pool lights but I think because of the water situation he may not have finished it or is limiting time.
I’ll check it out when it comes back online, I love stuff like this!

That is pretty neat!
My mother and I both have Celiac. It is not a real big deal, but it would be nice to find a cure or better treatment!

Yea, I don’t think there is a better cause for doing this! Imagine what the neighbors think!
