The WordPress Google XML Sitemaps Plugin

The WordPress Google XML Sitemaps Plugin is an absolute MUST if you run a WordPress blog and are concerned with ranking well in the search engines.
The Google XML Sitemaps plugin is pretty self explanatory as it does exactly what it says - it automatically builds a Google compliant sitemap.xml file. This is very useful for your blog because it gives Google open access towards finding your content.
In other words, the Google XML Sitemaps plugin builds a search engine friendly road map so that Googlebot can quickly and easily find your content and index it into their database.
Last year the four major search engines united and adopted sitemap.xml as a standardized way for their web crawlers to find and index information on the Internet. The Google XML Sitemaps plugin is compliant with all four major search engines: Google, Yahoo, Ask.com and MSN.
The plugin gives you some really cool features too that allow you to tweak your sitemap.xml file the way you want it. You can specify and rank the content that you feel is most important, you can also include many if not all sections of your blog in your automatic sitemap.xml file. These choices are all up to you.
This by far is one of my personal favorite WordPress plugins. You can learn more about it and download it here.

Hi Garry,
I love this plugin, as I mentioned the other day, I just migrated one of my main sites to wordpress & went live on Saturday. It took a while to get there but thankfully it’s done now with only a few small issues (i hope) left to work out…
I used the google xml sitemaps plugin to generate & submit my sitemap on Saturday night and today I see the new links turning up in google.
Still need to try out the super cache plugin, but if you can recommend any other plugins, it would be graet.
