TinyMassive.com Does Not Make Money Online
On July 1st 2008 I discovered a new program called TinyMassive.com that allows for publishers to insert a small line of javascript code into their web sites, pages and blogs to make money online by sending them traffic, clicks and leads on products they advertise for sale being listed by their channel of private advertisers. I wrote a very nice introductory review about TinyMassive.com and I was quite optimistic about their program and very willing to give them a try.
Today I am covering a follow up post to help bring out awareness of TinyMassive.com as they have been successful in creating a buzz in the make money online niche. Recently, TinyMassive.com was featured on the popular blog site, JohnChow.com in a post titled, A little Shopping Can Make You Money. What I have to report today about TinyMassive.com is not positive.
After ten days of using TinyMassive.com I was hoping to make some good money online and share a success story with my readers. Unfortunately, I have quite the opposite news to report. Today in this follow up review of TinyMassive.com I am not going to say that their program isn’t great, but I am going to openly communicate that the program at this time just isn’t right for me. In this article I will share with you my traffic stats, earnings and my opinions on the TinyMassive.com program.
Today I received a follow up email from Kate Hiscox. I am not sure if you remember her, but she was the person who sent me the email about two weeks ago explaining all about TinyMassive.com. She is very friendly and I really enjoyed my interactions with her. However, today I have to admit that I feel just slightly aggravated with the follow up email that she sent me. Here is a copy.
Hi Garry
Just wanted to touch base with you – I know youre taking some time out. Your results with the widget have been pretty static the last three days and I have guys in double and triple figures so I wanted to make sure if things were okay with you?
Have a great weekend and thanks again for the review. It was so appreciated =)

After reading this email, I decided to login to my TinyMassive.com account and see just how static my account was and discover why I wasn’t making triple figures like the other guys, as she mentioned. To be honest, I was actually offended with receiving such an email. At any rate, here is a screen shot of my stale, stagnant, or as she said, static stats.

In 10 days of using TinyMassive.com on a “Controlled” niche blog for experimentation, I was able to deliver 11,968 ad impressions. Unfortunately, I was only able to convert all that traffic into 14 clicks. The 14 clicks delivered $1.16 into my TinyMassive.com account. Now before we get into the beef of this evaluation, I want to talk to you about what an ad impression is.
What Is An Ad Impression?
An ad impression is the number of times an advertisement has been viewed on a web page. A more accurate explanation would be the number of times ad advertisement was LOADED on a page. Reason being is simple. When a web page visitor loads a page with an advertisement on it, that counts as an ad impression.
In many cases, the person visiting the site might not even see the advertisement found on the page. Even though the web page visitors doesn’t physically see the advertisement, because he loaded the page completely this counts as an ad impression.
You should remember that next time you are interested in paying for ad impression based ads. Prior to doing that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to investigate the location of where your advertisement will be on a web page prior to placing the order.
If you are interested in purchasing advertising, it would be a better option to look into programs that offer a “Pay Per Click” service. That way you know exactly what you are paying for and there is no mystery as to how much traffic you will receive.
With that being said, in 10 days of using TinyMassive.com on a “Controlled” niche site, I was able to capture 11,968 ad impressions. TinyMassive.com could easily say that I had poor performance because my web site visitors didn’t physically see the advertisements. Knowing in advanced that this is the common response the advertisement agencies say in response to publishers who have poor performance, I made sure that I placed my TinyMassive.com advertisement unit in a spot that has proven to convert well.
In the 10 day TinyMassive.com test, I chose to remove a top performing Google AdSense 300×250 Ad unit that was converting at 11.6% for the last 30 days, 9.86% for the last 90 days and replace that ad unit with the TinyMassive.com ad unit.
Needless to say, TinyMassive.com did not convert as well compared to Google AdSense. Here is a break down of my TinyMassive.com 10 day stats. Below that I will provide you with a calculation of the amount of money that I would have made with Google AdSense.
TinyMassive.com 10 Day Stats:
- Number of Ad Impressions: 11,986
- Number of Ad Clicks: 14
- Highest value paid per click: $0.11
- Highest day Click Thru: 0.4%
- Total 10 Day Earnings: $1.16
Estimate Calculation of AdSense Earnings
If I had continued to use my Google AdSense 300×250 ad unit instead of swapping it out for TinyMassive.com here are the calculated stats and earnings I would have received after 10 days. This is assuming a couple things here.
-
One that each click only paid me $0.11 per click which was TinyMassive.com’s highest paid click. With that being said, I can’t tell you how much I make per click with Google AdSense, but I can say that $0.11 per click and higher on AdSense is very easy to achieve for me.
-
The second element that I am going to assume is that my AdSense ad unit would have continued to perform as it had been during the last 90 days, thus converting at 10%.
So here is the calculated earnings for Google AdSense if I had NOT chose to test TinyMassive.com for 10 days:
Google AdSense Earnings:
-
Number of Ad Impressions: 11,986
-
Number of Ad Clicks (based on 10% conversion): 1,198
-
Highest value paid per click: $0.11
-
Highest day Click Thru: (Again, based off 90 trends we are saying 10%)
-
Total 10 Day Earnings: $131.78
Here Are Some Key Elements To Consider:
- Google AdSense allows for publishers to use up to three AdSense units per page. I make full use of that.
- Each AdSense ad unit that I use typically converts at 10% and typically produces comparable results to the one shown above.
- This example above gives you a 33% estimated calculation on how much I make in a ten day period per niche blog I own.
- At this time, I have more than 10 blogs that perform equally if not better than what has been shown here in this example.
TinyMassive.com may make triple digits for “other guys” as mentioned in the email from Kate; however, one thing is totally for sure with me, TinyMassive.com clearly does not work for me and I am very much better off using Google AdSense. While I am sure that TinyMassive.com may work for other people, these stats are clear that I don’t make money with TinyMassive.com, I lose money with TinyMassive.com
One last thing that I would like to mentioned about TinyMassive.com is the fact that it is a mystery to me with the number of trusted GarryConn.com readers I have referred to them. TinyMassive.com speaks highly of their internal workings and they systems in place, yet they don’t have a system that allows me to observe the number of people I have personally recruited into their system. In my opinion, this isn’t a very ethical practice especially when there is a 10% sales incentive being used to lure publishers into recruiting their trusted and valued readers.
Conclusion: Is There A Future For TinyMassive.com?
A large part of the problem why TinyMassive.com did not make money for me on my “Controlled” niche blog was the fact that their system failed to deliver relevant products based on the content being shown on the page. TinyMassive.com is supposed to have a huge pool of advertisers that have a large and broad base of products being advertised for sale.
Knowing this, I decided to use a deal related niche blog site for promoting TinyMassive.com. This “Controlled” niche site is a site that offers product reviews and articles all based around popular and top selling products such as the Apple iPhone, Dell Computers, Office Supplies and Equipment, Clothes and Shoes, Lawn and Garden and many other popular products and services.
TinyMassive.com fails to produce relevant products even though their system claims to be a contextual advertisement system. Other leading programs such as the Amazon Associates Contextual Links program and Kontera Context Links will out perform TinyMassive.com at this time.
The potential that TinyMassive.com has over other leading programs such as the mentioned Amazon Associates Contextual Links Program is the fact that TinyMassive.com does pay money for clicks. However, the amount of money paid per click does not offset the difference that could be potentially earned by displaying a common Google AdSense ad unit.
All in all, I do not see TinyMassive.com as being a leading method for publishers to make money online. While there are for sure some excellent aspects of TinyMassive.com, there are too many programs already on the market that provide publishers with amazing and very effective solutions towards monetizing their web sites and blogs.

Good writing. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed my Google News Reader..

I got an account then decided not to install it. Looks like I made a good choice.
When you had tinymassive on this site, I think I saw only 1 product offered the whole time. (a money clip I think) It seems like they need better targeting and a wider product selection.
At least you found this out after just 10 days and didn’t waste the whole month.
I’d be interested to see Kate’s response as well
Thanks Garry for the info!! actually i decided to install it yesterday..but im busy so i didn’t do it..now i see this post..i stop it now haha !! Thanks !!
Hi Gary
Thank you for the follow up feedback. Its always good to hear what we are getting right and more importantly where we can improve and you have put alot of good stuff in this post. I apologize if my email offended you. You and I have had a few friendly email exchanges about the widgets and how the map works on the homepage etc. so I had been keeping a friendly weather eye on your account in particular. When your figures appeared static, I wanted to offer some assistance in bringing your accounts performance up to what we are seeing from other publishers.
Again, I appreciate the review you provided. You’re absolutely right in that the program converts better for some publishers than others which is why we leave our door wide open in order to offer advice or assistance to any of our publishers. Publishers email me, IM me, call me and I encourage it. I want to hear what everyone has to say – good and bad.
Feel free to contact me at anytime. I hope you enjoyed your break. Life should and must always come first. =)

Hi Kate,
I think TinyMassive.com has a lot of work ahead of the in the future to totally hit off. I think you are a totally cool person and this obviously isn’t anything against you. You are doing your job and doing it well. I’ll get over the email, I wasn’t offended too bad.
One thing I do need to note, though. I am not like the #1 Make money online guy here on the Internet, but also too I am not in last place either. I do this full time out of my house and do quite well. With that being said, if someone like me can’t make money online with TinyMassive.com, then how can a new beginner make money with TinyMassive.com
I do feel bad about the misfortune of the review; however, most all of my readers – especially as I am learning, the silent ones – are all new beginners who are looking for solutions that will enable them to make money online. If I can’t make money online with TinyMassive.com, then how can a new beginner?
If TinyMassive.com was put on a deal related blog that has tons of traffic and that offers product reviews with a very broad range of products and it fails to convert, then I don’t see how any common level Internet marketer or individual who is inspired to make money online can find success with the program. You see where I am coming from?
I ran TinyMassive.com on http://www.garryconn.com for a day just so that people could get a visual example of the widget. A day or two later, I took it off. The full test was run on a PR4 deal related blog that targets search engine traffic who are looking to get the best deals on common and popular products.
Hi Garry
Good! I am glad we’re still buddies! I hear you which is why both your reviews were important. We need to hear the bad, more than the good to be honest and while theres been plenty good said about TinyMassive, I much more value the bad in order to learn and improve so don’t feel bad for the review!
The widget is performing better for some sites than others and were analyzing everything coming down the tubes in order to share this with publishers. Feedback needs to be two way so believe me, we’re all about sharing what we learn and driving revenue for all involved.
I’d like to continue to email you on our progress and refinements if thats okay with you as your feedback is highly valued.
Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the weekend and that legion of kids of yours =)
Kate
Thanks Garry….you always deliver the goods man! I didn’t even know about this place, I must have missed the initial review.
As always, we appreciate your candor and honesty. Thanks for keeping us up to date and not just playing games. That’s why we like you so much. — FlyingRates.
Hey Garry, thanks for this great info, I guess I will just stick to adsense for now. Which appears (also to me) to be the greatest still… And I’ve written so much good articles about adsense that it would be a wast to throw http://www.icantinternet.org away
One of my friends tested it for one week on a different blog. The result was poor. First we thought that it was a problem with the niche. But, after reading this, our doubt about it’s performance has doubled! I am not telling that it is pathetic, but AdSense is the best for better revenue. Your case also tells that same story. BTW, I will try to use it for some days, on some of my blogs. Just to see the difference.
Thanks.
